We are in Kalamazoo, MI at the Wings Stadium. Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect are our hosts. Vince has an Easter gift for Perfect. Perfect calls The Ultimate Warrior a dumb bunny for getting into Sid Justice's business. He says he has jelly beans for brains. He says Warrior will be a basket case when Sid is done with him.
The Legion of Doom vs Barry Hardy and Duane Gill
Paul Ellering is with The LOD. The jobber are pounded on and Gill is gorilla pressed out. Hawk gorilla presses Barry and law darts him into the top buckle. The Genius and The Beverly Brothers do an inset promo. They say the LOD has skinny arms and bad haircuts. They call them two big sissies. Hawk flying shoulders Barry then gutwrench suplexes him. Animal standing dropkicks Barry.
Animal powerslams Gill then elbow drops him. Animal hits a belly to belly suplex. Gill is tied up in the ropes and takes punches from Hawk. Animal corner lariats Gill. Gill takes a doomsday device and is pinned.
Thoughts: It was a solid squash here with The LOD running over their opponents and looking tough doing it.
WWF Update
Mean Gene talks about the latest WWF Magazine with them questioning the photos of Miss Elizabeth and Ric Flair. They compare the photos of Flair and Liz with Liz and Macho. Gene says it seems it was Macho in the photos and not Flair. Gene asks what's with this guy Flair?
We see clips of Mania VIII with Macho kissing Liz and beating Macho up after the match. Gene says Flair has another appointment with Macho. Gene says he wouldn't want to be in Flair's boots.
The Repo Man vs Chris Hahn
Perfect says the new photos are fake and the Flair photos are real. Rep hits shots on Chris' gut. Repo back body drops him then throws him over the top to the floor. Inside, Repo catapults Chris' throat into the bottom rope. Repo chokes him then hits shots as he stands over him.
Chris' throat is catapulted into the bottom rope again. Repo then pins him.
Thoughts: It was all squash as expected. Chris looked like a young Shane Douglas.
Repo chokes Chris with a rope after and drags him around with it.
WWF Event Center
Sean Mooney talks about Repo breaking the rules. The Big Boss Man does a promo. He says every time he turns around, he adds another name to his most wanted list. He says he wears the uniform and is proud of it. He says there's thousands of people who believe in him and law, order and justice and he won't let them down.
Rick "The Model" Martel does a promo. He says to do it The Model way and you are sure to be a winner. He says he is getting calls from Canada and Europe with people asking what he will be wearing this Spring. He says The Model is here to say and says to be careful.
Nailz does a video showing clips of a jail cell. He says the unwritten rule there was an eye for an eye and a life for a life. He says the rule will still apply to Boss when he gets out. We don't see Nailz in this.
Bret "The Hitman" Hart vs Tom Bennett
Tom had a jacket with his name on it. Bret shoulders Tom over then he hiptosses him. Bret hits headbutts then elbow drops him. Shawn Michaels and Sherri do an inset promo. He says the IC Title has been tainted and lost prestige over the years. He says he has everything to make it the brightest thing in the WWF, second only to him.
Bret back elbows him and legdrops him. Bret suplexes him. Bret 2nd rope elbow drops him. Bret then sharpshooters Tom and submits him.
Thoughts: It was all squash as expected with Bret mostly doing strikes en route to victory.
WWF Event Center
Sean says the challengers are lining up for Bret. The Mountie and Jimmy Hart do a promo. Hart says Mountie is handsome, brave and strong and that's why he's The Mountie. Mountie says it's time for a new wave and a new generation. He says to keep an eye on him and he has a surprise.
The Bushwhackers do a promo. Butch talks about his mother and says they are doing great and the fans treat them lovely. Butch says he thinks the fans want them to give them a lick.
We get a video on Crush, who has dropped the Demolition attire and is now wearing neon. He says he got the name Crush by crushing things. We see him playing as a kid and crushing a can. He says imagine what a full grown Crush can do.
Thoughts: Well, I knew it was coming at some point. They didn't address his Demolition past but they talked about him like we knew him. I liked this version of Crush.
The Berzerker vs Mark Roberts
Perfect says Crush will be Orange Crush when his opponents get his hands on him. Berz tells Mr. Fuji "nobody stops us". Berz facekicks Mark. Mr. Fuji does an inset promo. He says Berz is challenging The Undertaker and Paul Bearer. He says he will have a viking funeral for Taker.
Berz chops Mark over then facekicks him. Berz punches him down and splashes him. Mark is tied up in the ropes and Berz running boots him. Berz legdrops Mark then its a powerslam for the win.
Thoughts: It was all squash here. Berz actually won with a pin for a change instead of winning by DQ which is new. Berz was a wild man as usual. It looks The Berzerker vs The Undertaker is the next feud.
Berz runs the ropes after and takes a bump.
Mean Gene has Ultimate Warrior fans on the stage. All of them have Warrior facepaint on. The Ultimate Warrior then comes out. Gene says The Warrior is back and said he nearly blew the roof off The Hoosier Dome.
Warrior said he couldn't watch as Sid and his curse tried to spread doom on Hulk. Warrior is told he will have to pay the price but says there is no price high enough not to pay for a friend like Hulk. Warrior says to become a great leader like him, you must have many friends. He says to do wrong against those friends means that one person must pay an even higher price.
Warrior holds up the kids and says these are his Warriors. He says he will stand proud as he carries the banner of the WWF.
Rick "The Model" Martel vs Red Tyler
Rick knees Red in the gut and bangs his head off the buckles. Rick hits knees to the gut then Red crossbodies him for 2. Rick his a shot to the throat. Red sunset flips him for 2. Rick hits him in the gut then slams him. Rick knee drops him.
Rick knees him in the ribs. Rick then hits a nice dropkick. Ric backbreakers Red then submits him with a crab.
Thoughts: It was the usual Rick squash. He had a nice dropkick here and did let Red get a sunset flip in before beating him.
We see some bonus clips of Wrestlemania VIII with some of the heels singing for a benefit concert. We also see a Wrestlefest Tournament and a superstar lookalike contest with a fan dressed as Big Boss Man vs a fan dressed as Paul Bearer. They ended up being the co-winners and The Bushwhackers greeted them.
The Texas Tornado vs Warren Bianchi
We haven't seen War for a while. War gets in Kerry's face as he enters and is shoved. Kerry chases War to the apron and stares him down. Kerry discus punches him on the apron. Kerry does an inset promo. He says he's back and is dedicating his life to his family, his religion and the WWF. Kerry running lariats War.
Kerry hits punches on War then lariats him. Kerry punches him and slams him. Kerry hits a discus punch and wins.
Thoughts: It was all squash here. Warren tried to get a over a bit without getting any offense in.
We get an ad for WBF Bodystars.
Money Inc. (Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster) vs Buck Zumhofe and Jim Powers
IRS says cheating on your taxes is illegal to all the people who filed for extensions.
Ted and Jim trade wristlocks. Ted side headlocks him. Jim hits a shot to the gut and knee lifts him. Jim dropkicks him. Buck gets his head banged off of IRS' foot. The Natural Disasters do a promo. They said Money Inc left like cowardly dogs at Mania but says next time they will run faster as they won't have the weight of the belts.
IRS snapmares Buck then elbow drops him. IRS flying lariats Buck. Ted puts the million dollar dream on Buck and puts him to sleep.
Thoughts: It was a quick one with not a lot going on besides an inset. Jim looked good in the little offense he got.
WWF Event Center
Owen Hart does a promo. He says The Rocket has taken off in the WWF. He says he's willing to take on anyone in the WWF. He says he's here and here to stay. He says he will make a name for himself. He brings up Bret and Stu and says he wants to soar to greater and higher heights than before. He says there always has to be a winner and a loser and this guy is a winner.
Papa Shango does a promo. He asks how many people know him and voodoo. Papa says he is voodoo. He says when the WWF stars sleep, they won't dream of nice things, they will dream of Papa Shango. He says once he enters the mind, he'll have the body.
Sean talks more and then something falls from above Sean and hits him. He seems to imply it was from Papa's powers.
The Undertaker and Paul Bearer do a promo. Paul says The Berzker and Mr. Fuji made a fatal mistake and will pay a price. Taker says in the annals of time, man has to face his destiny and death. He says Berzerker face his in the same day.
Next week has The Berzerker vs The Undertaker, an interview with Sid, Ric Flair and Sgt. Slaughter.
Overall thoughts: I thought they did a good job in continuing to set up the post-Mania feuds. We still have no idea what Hulk's status is but the big names are all set up here with someone new to fight. Wrestling wise, it was all squashes. Crush has a new look and character as well. I wouldn't really recommend this one as there wasn't anything that good on it.
