Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/07/wwe-smackdown-7182025.html

We are in Nashville, TN. Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett are on commentary.

Jelly Roll talks to Randy Orton backstage and Orton says he's looking forward to tonight.

LA Knight comes out to talk. He says Seth Rollins is desperate and a little washed. He says Seth's crew is a desperate goon troop. He says Bron is a dog brained idiot. He said Seth's crew try to take him out of WWE because Seth couldn't do it himself. He says he wants Seth's dignity, justice and wants to hurt him. He said Seth doesn't have to be scared to get his @ss kicked.

Paul Heyman comes out. Paul says he's blessed with many gifts in life as Seth's oracle. He says he can see into the future. He says their future is the future of the entire industry. He says he sees nothing in LA's future as he has no future. He says LA has no future at all.

Solo Sikoa's MFT's/Bloodline comes out. Solo says when Paul left to Raw and his family, everything changed. Solo says there's no more Bloodline, no more tribal chief and no more wiseman.

Paul backs up and looks scared. Solo tells Paul to leave the building if he wants to see another day before they put him through a table like they did last year. Paul then leaves. Solo says he's the new US champ.

Solo says he beat Fatu, the man who beat LA, and Fatu is gone. He says LA can walk out of the ring, leave and don't come back or he will make sure he will never walk again. LA tells them to come in and make him leave. LA is surrounded and Jimmy Uso throws a chair in. Uso superkicks Loa then chairs JC. Talla is on the apron and Solo pulls him down instead of taking a chair shot.

Nick Aldis comes out. He says he still runs the show. He says Solo is starting fights and says it'll be Solo and JC vs Jimmy Uso and LA Knight.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss talk in the back. Bliss says she needs her out there with her tonight. She says if Flair wants to make a statement for Evolution, this is the way to do it. Flair asks if she looks like a cheerleader and Bliss says she'd make a terrible cheerleader. Alexa had a "We're Not Friends" shirt on.

Fred Durst is at ringside.

Sol Ruca vs Roxanne Perez vs Kairi Sane vs Alexa Bliss

Zaria, Raquel, Flair and Asuka are at ringside for this. They pair off and fight to start. Sol spinning drops Bliss onto her chest and face. Sane forearms Sol then axe kicks her. Sane headscissors her out using the ropes. RP thesz presses Sane and clubs on her. Sol hits a springboard double dropkick then flying space tiger drops outside onto the girls.

We go to PiP break and return. We get a tower of doom spot with Sol and Bliss throwing the other two down. Bliss and Sol trade forearms. Bliss totally misses a punch on Sol then headhunters her for 2. RP superkicks Bliss. RP euros Bliss against the ropes then asai moonsaults her for 2. Sol running knees RP for 2. Sol slams RP. Sane trips Sol on the top rope. Sol is in tree of woe and Sane top rope double stomps her down for 2. Bliss back elbows RP. Sol then hits a double sol snatcher out of the corner. Raquel puts RP's foot on the ropes to break the count.

Zaria nails Raquel. Raquel drops Zar face first on the commentary table. Flair then throws Raquel over the commentary table onto Joe Tessitore. Sane urakens Sol out. Sane tries a top rope elbow but Bliss gets her feet up. Bliss hits deadfall/the sister abigail ddt on Sane and wins.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. They didn't botch too much here though Bliss totally missed a punch here at one point. I think this was Sol's main roster debut so good for her.

WWE Tag Titles - The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) vs The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy)

Joe and AD lock up. AD waistlock takedowns Joe. AD forearms Dex off the apron then spinebusters Joe. Ford goes up top and The Wyatt's slide out. Ford then taunts them with their own taunt.

We go to break and return. Dex punches Ford up top. Dex takes a sunset bomb off the buckles. AD hits lariats on Joe. AD flying back elbows him. AD spinning splashes Joe in the corner and double underhook twisting drops him. Dex and Joe are sent out. AD tope con hilos both outside.

AD top rope swantons Joe for 2. Joe handspring lariats AD. AD takes a backdrop + neckbreaker combo for 2. AD is thrown hard into the buckles then thrown out. We go to break and return. Dex is superkicked then popped up into a backdrop for 2.

Ford is spinebustered then Joe powerbombs Dex onto him for 2. Ford enzugiri's Joe. Joe takes an electric chair blockbuster.  Joe back body drops Ford outside. AD spinebusters Dex. Ford top rope frog splashes Dex. Erik Rowan pulls out Ford. AD then pounces Erik over the timekeepers rail. Ford enzugiri's Dex from the apron. Ford misses a top rope splash. Ford takes a suplex + powerbomb combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: What we got was decent here with The Profits flying around as usual. I think the booking of this makes sense but I'm not sure where it leaves The Profits, who end another run without really showing us anything new. The Wyatt's got a lot of people to fight as seemingly the whole division is against them and it should help keep them relevant for a little longer.

Fraxiom, The Motor City Machine Guns and DIY aren't happy about the title change. DIY argue with The Guns. Johnny says they need to come together and the worst case scenario just became real. Frazer says they need to cool down. Ciampa says they need to listen as they know what's best. Frazer says they deserve the first shot at the tag titles. Andrade and Rey Fenix walk in. Andrade says him and Rey are part of the tag division. Ciampa gets mad.

Jelly Roll sings. Logan Paul comes out and interrupts. He boos Jelly. He says everyone is here to see real WWE superstars and not to listen to music to people who have tattoos of their children but don't have custody of them. Logan says the venue is sacred. He says Jelly belongs on a stage, not in the ring. Logan says he's tired of celebs coming in here and leeching off of their success. He calls Jelly a clout chaser and says he disgusts him. He says WWE doesn't need a Jelly Roll but a Logan Paul.

Logan says he belongs here and his podcast linked a longterm deal with WWE. Jelly says Logan must not understand where he is. He says this is hometown. He says nobody gives a d@mn about his podcast.

Randy Orton comes in and complains about Logan calling Jelly an outsider in his own home town. Orton says if anyone is an outsider, it's Logan. He says how about some respect. He gets in Logan's face.  He says everyone moves heaven and earth for Logan. Drew McIntyre then comes out and claymore kicks Orton. Security then come in and break it up.

Logan pounds on Orton after. Jelly then grabs Logan from behind. Jelly throws Logan backwards and Logan goes out. security comes out. Logan the destroys Jelly's instruments and set. Logan yells that Jelly is not a wrestler.

Thoughts: It was a weird one with Logan being a celeb who is using wrestling to staying relevant but accused Jelly of doing that. But that's heels for you. It's been no secret that Jelly is going to be wrestling soon and it looks like it'll be a Jelly/Orton vs Drew/Paul tag at Summerslam.

Jelly Roll and Orton thank each other in the back. Jelly says he wants to come down and watch Orton tomorrow at SNME. Orton says he wants him to come into his corner.

R-Truth vs Aleister Black

Truth splits out of a kick, hits a leg lariat then corner splashes him. AB legsweeps him then hits strikes. AB boots him then Truth hits flying corkscrew forearm. AB knees Truth in the gut then throws him out. AB lands on his feet outside on a moonsault then is sent back first into the post.

Truth grabs a chair and AB steps on it. AB knees him in the face. AB goes to use the chair, the ref stops him then Truth rolls up AB to win.

Thoughts:
It was a short one. Truth is noticeably not as over under this new character and it's already clear it's not working. Neither guy really needed to lose this one.

We go to break and return. Black goes after Truth in the back. Damien Priest interrupts. He says it's over and he needs to let it go. Black says okay, you're right, sorry. Priest tells him to take it easy. Black then pumping knees Priest in the face, throws him into boxes and spin kicks him into a pole. Black says now he can let it go.

Wade Barrett hosts a talk between Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus in the ring. Tiff says she chose Trish as she beat Nia and Bayley and says why wouldn't she want to face one of the best? She says when she beats her, maybe she will be one of the GOAT's.

Trish says Tiff should feel the pressure as she needs to beat her to be the GOAT. Trish says she is the GOAT. She says she will leave with the title and Tiff will leave with nothing. Trish says she will deliver stratusfaction. Tiff says she will let her live out her glory days but things are different now and it's called Evolution.

Tiff says she saw Trish's VHS tapes. Trish asked if she learned about VHS on Tiktok. Trish says she loves her and she's doing a fantastic job as champ but she will become an 8x champ on Sunday.

Naomi comes out and says she wants to remind them that it doesn't matter. Jade then nails her from behind and officials break it up.

Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo vs LA Knight and Jimmy Uso

Solo pounds on LA. LA spinning neckbreakers him. Uso corner hip attacks Solo. JC hits punches and corner spears on Uso. Uso superkicks Cobb in the gut then uppercuts him. Uso samoan drops JC for 2.

JC forearms Uso over. Uso hits chops. Solo pulls Uso out and bangs his head off the commentary table. Solo samoan drops Uso on the table. Solo then stands over top of him.

We go to PiP break and return. Solo chokes Uso in the corner. Solo hits a corner hip attack. Solo misses a corner hip attack. Uso spinning enzugiri's JC. LA hits punches and a flying lariat on JC. LA jumping neckbreakers JC.

JC rolls up LA for 2. LA double jump elbow drops JC then Uso top rope splashes JC. Uso superkicks Solo then takes a uranage for 2. LA dropkicks JC through the ropes. LA gets distracted by Paul Heyman outside. Talla Tonga facekicks LA outside. Uso then rolls up Solo and wins.

Thoughts
: The ending was dumb here. I don't think the faces needed to win this one when Solo's crew is new and needs big wins to get over. The match was fine but nothing too crazy.

Solo gets mad at Paul after then LA hits a BFT on Solo. Bron Breakker appears in the ring and spears LA. Bronson Reed then top rope splashes LA.  Officials come out and Seth's crew leaves.

Overall thoughts: It was a decent show. The move back to 2 hours is a positive one and really cuts out some of the wasted time. I don't think they did the greatest build ever to some of the shows this weekend though, but there were too many to build properly. The women's 4-way was fine and the men's tag title match was decent. Truth/Black wasn't much and spawned Black's heel turn. The main was fine too but nothing too crazy. I didn't like Solo's crew losing though as they are new and need big wins to get moving. I'd give the show a 6 out of 10 as they did what they were supposed to but there was nothing must see here.
