Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/07/aew-collision-7312025.html

AEW TNT Title - Dustin Rhodes (c) vs Lee Moriarty

Lee's the ROH Pure champ so he shouldn't be losing here.

Lee boots away DR's handshake. Lee and DR wristlock each other and Lee rolls him up. Lee does a border city stretch and DR ropebreaks. They shove each other. DR side headlocks him. DR shoulders him over then armdrags him. DR lariats him over the top and goes with him. Lee is pulled down onto the apron then his arm is rammed into the rails. DR bangs Lee's arm off the rails. DR armdrags him and armlocks him.

Lee euros him then dragon screws him from the 2nd rope. Lee kneebreakers DR on the knee. Lee does a dance in the ring then drops down on DR's knee. DR boots Lee in the face from the mat. Lee dragon screws him again. DR hits chops and is dragon screwed again. We go to PiP break and return. Lee gets a 2 count on him then ddt's the leg. DR hits some shots and he pushes Lee out with his feet. Lee leg kicks him.

DR hits some open hand shots. Lee flatliners him into the buckles. DR powerslams him. They trade shots. Lee euros him then DR atomic drops him. Lee bangs DR's knee off the mat. DR hits a canadian destroyer then hits a cross rhodes...for 2.

DR lifting reverse ddt's him but DR hurts his knee doing it. Lee hits a hard buzzsaw kick for 2. Lee does an ankle lock and DR rope breaks. Lee is put on the 2nd rope and DR goes for shattered dreams. The ref stops DR from doing it and DR flying enzugiri's him. Lee hits forearms then twisting sitout double underhook drops him for 2. Lee goes for the figure four and DR cradles him to win.

Thoughts:
It was a bit long and slow for an opener and would not have been my pick. Dustin sold a lot here but I didn't like the canadian destroyer being meaningless. Dustin couldn't bend for some of the dragon screws and the move didn't look that good because of it. I wasn't a huge fan of this. Lee also lost despite being a champ which isn't good.

Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis come out after. Kyle says he didn't come out to fight Dustin. He says he already outclasses him in every single way. Lee says the only thing he needs is a 1v1 shot at the TNT Title. He tells him to keep stepping as he wants his shot next week. Dustin said he talked crap about his family but will give him a shot. He says they will do a Chicago Street Fight. He then says, "I'm your huckleberry, b!tch".

Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn do a video. Juice said he talked about Ricochet costing them $200k. He says Big Bill talked about Juice putting his nose in his business. Juice says Bill's business is his business as they fight tonight. He says Bill's tournament dreams will be over today. Austin says this tournament is more personal to him. He says Colten got injured last week and Juice stepped in. Austin says if you aren't down with The Bang Bang Gang, they have two words for you - guns up.

Tony Schiavone talks about Hulk Hogan dying and puts him over. He says he lit the fire for the Monday Night Wars and put WCW on the cable tv map. He says we forget that the stars are human and have families. He says their condolences go out to Hulk's family and he says, "from all of us at All Elite Wrestling, R.I.P. brother".

Thoughts:
For those who don't know, Tony Khan banned Hulk Hogan from AEW either before the first AEW show or soon after. It was a stupid move since Hulk had no affiliation with the promotion in any way, and expressed no interest in joining it. It would be like me banning Tony Khan from ProWresBlog despite him probably not even knowing that this site exists. I'm glad AEW did the right thing here and dropped the stupidity.

Lexi interviews Toni Storm, who runs in. Toni makes sexual puns about Athena and then Alex Windsor. She says she wants to see Alex take Athena's ROH Title from her and tells Athena to sit on it at the end.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament 1st Round - Bryan Keith and Big Bill vs The Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson

BK wristlocks Juice. Juice side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Juice armdrags BK. BK takes a double hiptoss for 2. BK superkicks Austin in the gut then Austin does a euro step neckbreaker.

Bill pushes Austin over. Austin shoves him then Bill misses an elbow drop. Austin hits punches on Bill and Bill facekicks him. Bill yanks on BK's leg then hanging leg locks him.

We go to PiP break and return. Austin tries an up and over and goes down. Austin goes for the tag then hits a big lariat on BK. Bill blocks the tag by knocking Juice off the apron. Bill mocks Austin's knee injury. Bill misses a corner splash.

BK gets in. Bill is pulled out. Austin back body drops BK onto Bill outside. Juice is tagged in and hits punches on BK. Bill is crotched on the top rope and Juice shakes the ropes. Juice running elbows him. Juice atomic drops and russian legsweeps BK. Juice then sentons BK.

Juice corner canonballs BK for 2. BK exploders Juice for 2. Juice is pushed into a BK knee to the face for 2. Bill is pushed into BK then Juice forearms him. Bill is pushed into the rail. Juice hits a hurricanrana off the buckles onto BK, BK reverses the pin then Juice reverses the pin and wins.

Thoughts: It was average. There were no big issues just I didn't find it super interesting. I was a bit surprised to see Bill and BK lose and we will see if that plays into into their storyline or not.

Shane Taylor is interviewed by Lexi. Don Callis comes in before he can talk about Lee Moriarty losing. Don says The Young Bucks will beat The Outrunners on Dynamite. He says The Runners may not make it if Shane and Don have their way. Don says they are teaming up tonight and will take out The Runners. Don says it's $400k and it's $300k for him and $100k for Shane. Shane doesn't like it and Don leaves before anything is said.

Max Caster comes out for his open challenge. He says he knows the fans want to chant his name. They then chant it. He tells them to keep it down as it's The Windy City and they really do blow.

5 Minute Challenge - Max Caster vs Anthony Bowens

AB runs at him and clubs on him. AB hits chops in the corner. The crowd does Max's chant as AB beats up on Max. AB gets mad and beats up on Max more.  AB breaks Max's patent contract.

AB talks trash and hits kicks. AB over the back fameassers him. AB superkicks him. AB spinning forearms him and wins.

Thoughts: It was all squash here as usual. I don't know if Max was supposed to get over with this but that happened.

AB pounds on Max after. Billy Gunn throws AB off of him. The crowd does Max's chant. AB gets behind Billy and looks like he will hurt him but then he walks off mad.

Kip Sabian, Nick Wayner and Mother Wayne are interviewed. Lexi asks if they should still be called The Patriarchy and Mom says no. AR Fox comes in. He says Nick said he was done talking but he's still here talking. He challenges Nick and Kip to a tag match. Nick asks what he wants and asks if he wants him to staple another picture of his family to his face. Kip says if AR wants to lose again then let him.

Don Callis brings out Hechicero and does the intro for him.

$400.000 8-Man Tag Team Match - The Don Callis Family (Hechicero & Lance Archer) & The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) vs. The Conglomeration (Hologram & Tomohiro Ishii) & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)

Bravo hits chops on Ishii. Ishii chops back. Ishii shoulders him over. Bravo takes a spin kick from Holo, a suplex then a standing moonsault from Holo for 2. Holo flips over Hech's back then is rolled into a pin attempt. Holo tilt-a-whirl armdrags Hech. Holo spinning headscissors Hech into the buckles.

Hech takes shots from The Runners then is backdropped. The Runners dropkick The Infantry and double hiptoss Hech. Truth hits punches on Lance. Truth corner splashes him. Lance double crossbodies The Runners. Lance catches Holo's headscissors off the top then powerbombs Holo into The Runners.

We go to PiP break and return. Truth and Bravo double clothesline each other. Holo spinning heel kicks Dean then Lance chokeslams Holo. Ishii suplexes Lance. Hech ddt's Ishii. Holo top rope double stomps Hech. Dean diving lariats Holo off the buckles.

Turbo gets in and hits shots on The Infantry. Turbo slams Bravo then hits a bulldog + lariat combo for 2. Ishii headbutts Hech. Holo ropewalk diving headscissors Hech. Holo then topes Hech into the commentary table. Turbo slams Dean.

The Runners hit a double elbow drop. Lance rams The Runners into the corner. Lance is double clotheslined over the top. The ref is knocked down then Shane Taylor and Don Callis get involved. Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong come out to help and chase Shane away. Bravo is pulled over the top and Bravo takes a powerslam + neckbreaker combo and is pinned.

Thoughts:
It was your usual "throw a bunch of people out there" 8-man tag. There wasn't a lot of reason or storyline for it to happen and it was random but the match was entertaining.

The Triangle Of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue & Thekla) vs Laynie Luck, Mazzerati & Rachael Ellering

This is The Triangle's debut as a unit. Hart and Luck go at it. Luck wristlocks her then is pulled into shoulderblocks. Hart rope walks and does a bad club on Luck. Hart sliding lariats her from behind. Skye running PK's Luck. Thek forearms Luck then running facekicks her against the 2nd rope.

Skye cartwheel forearms Luck in the corner. Hart STO's Luck but Luck gets her knees up on the standing moonsault. Rach gets in and running euros Hart. She running lariats her and sentons her.

Rach cross-legged brainbusters Hart for 2. Thek spears Luck on the floor. Hart superkicks Rach then Maz. Maz takes a double team swinging uranage. Thek does a bad curbstomp on Maz and wins.

Thoughts: It wasn't a great debut here for the new unit. There were some sloppy moments here and they didn't quite show off that much.

Queen Aminata comes out with a chair and Thek's crew leaves the ring. Queen has something under her eye from them spraying her in the eyes. Megan Bayne comes out and nails Queen from behind. Meg sitout powerbombs Queen.

Stokeley Hathaway is interviewed with 2 security guards. These guards are bigger than 99% of the roster and should be a tag team. Stoke rips Cope having goons do his dirty work and asks why Cope keeps following him. Stoke says FTR will win the tag tournament and become tag champs. He says Gunn and Juice are trying to stop them. He says Juice is a side piece and says "top guys out".

Hologram and Tomohiro Ishii are interviewed. Kyle O'Reilly interrupts before they say anything and says it was a great win. Roderick Strong then interrupts him. Kyle says Holo should spend the money he won tonight on strong because it's his birthday. Kyle then tries to do a cheer for The Conglomeration, saying they are reunited. Holo and Ishii end up saying nothing.

Kip Sabian & Nick Wayne vs Angelico & AR Fox

This is Nick and Kip's debut as a unit without Christian. Kip and Nick are wearing red. Nick facekicks AR then stomps on him. Kip hits forearms on AR in the corner. Nick boots AR in the gut. AR twisting brainbusters him.

Ange hits punches on Nick. Ange armlocks Nick. Ange is distracted and takes a flying euro. We go to PiP break, full break and return. Ange and Kip forearm each other at the same time and go down. AR hits lariats on Nick then enzugiri's him. AR flying  corner lariats Nick. AR backrolls into a cutter on Kip then cutters Nick. AR tope con hilos Kip outside. AR top rope swantons Nick for 2.

Nick hits AR in the throat. Ange up kicks Nick. Kip top rope dropkicks Ange. Kip corner cannonballs Ange then final cuts him. Nick hits a killswitch on Ange and wins.

Thoughts: This wasn't a good way to debut Nick and Kip as a unit. They needed to be more dominating and needed to look stronger. The work was okay otherwise and what you would expect with lots of dives and cool moves.

Kris Statlander is interviewed. She congratulates Renee. She says she won $100k and blows paper bits in her face. She complains about Willow not thanking her for from getting beaten up by The Death Riders and for her being her best friend. Kris says she doesn't need Willow to remind her who she is. She says Willow can't stop death.

Thoughts: Yeah, I don't know what this was. Kris/Willow is one of those AEW feuds that never ends and helps nobody.

ROH Women's World Title Match - Athena (c) vs. Alex Windsor

Alex earned this shot by never actually winning a match in ROH and winning one match in AEW. I'm totally convinced she will win here...not.

They lock up. Ath side headlock takeovers her. Alex armdrags her. Ath hits a big forearm. Alex goes up and over then hits armdrags. Alex basement dropkicks her. Ath throws her down backwards.

Alex lariats her from behind and basement dropkicks her. Alex slams her. Ath headscissors her from the mat into the buckles. They chop each other on the buckles. Ath hits an ore ga taue on the apron. We go to PiP break and return.

Alex headbutts her and both go down. Alex corner lariats her then flying lariats her. Alex russian legsweeps her for 2. Ath superkicks Alex. Ath hits ataxia on Alex then turns it into a koji clutch. Ath backdrops her for 2. Ath is on the top rope and Alex headbutts her. Alex then sitout powerbombs her down for 2. Ath is dropped body first on the apron edge. Ath is then dropped body first on the floor.

Billie Starkz interferes and is sent into the steps. Ath topes Alex. Ath sends her into the post then dropkicks her hard into the rails. They fight on the rails then Alex is powerbombed on the floor. Ath hits a top rope diving o-face and wins.

Thoughts:
I didn't like it. They were sloppy. Alex shouldn't have been in this as she just debuted and shouldn't be losing yet was destined to here.

Alex is beaten up after. Toni Storm comes out to make the save. Toni thesz presses and pounds on Ath. Toni corner hip attacks Ath then chickenwings her. Billie Starkz hits Toni with the contract. Alex and Toni then fight Billie and Athena.

Overall thoughts: It was your usual Collision. I went to sleep instead of finishing the show when it aired and I don't regret it. The stars didn't show up as usual and we got a bunch of random or near random matches. Nothing was that great and I'd give this one a 4 out of 10 as it was a pretty lazy and uninteresting show.
