Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/wwf-superstars-of-wrestling-3141992.html
We are in Tampa, FL. Mr. Perfect and Vince McMahon are our hosts. Vince mentions girl scouts and Perfect says there's only one girl we are talking about this week. He says this girl has been doing more than good deeds and isn't the girl scout everyone thinks. He says this girl would make a lousy den mother.
Money Inc. (Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster) vs Jim Powers and Terry Davis
Money Inc just won the tag titles on an unaired show. IRS talks on the mic beforehand. He says the residents of Florida should pay a state income tax.
IRS bangs Jim's head off the buckles. Jim hiptosses him then hits a dropkick. IRS back elbows Terry. Ted 2nd rope double axe handles Terry then puts him in the million dollar dream. Terry is out but Ted lets go of the hold. IRS then comes in and hits a samoan drop for the win.
Thoughts: Jim got a little in here at least before his partner got put down in this quick squash.
WWF Event Center
Mean Gene Okerlund talks about The Funeral Parlor from last week with Jake Roberts attacking Undertaker and Paul Bearer. Gene says The Undertaker vs Jake Roberts is now set up for Wrestlemania VIII.
The Undertaker and Paul Bearer do a promo. Paul says Jake made a mistake when he put his hands on Taker. Taker says the day of reckoning is upon us and says Jake must meet the reaper.
The British Bulldog vs Lee Armstrong
They shoulder battle and Davey hiptosses and armdrags him. Davey hits a slam then suplexes Lee. Davey hammerlocks Lee then hits knees to his back. Lee eye rakes him. Davey hits a corner lariat then running powerslams him to win.
Thoughts: Lee didn't get much but an eye rake here en route to going down. I do like Lee though.
Shawn Michaels vs Scott Hen
Shawn comes out to the version of his song with Sherri singing. Shawn takes a while to get ready here. Shawn and Sherri do an inset promo. Sherri talks about how Tito fell on hard times and had to go live in his aunt's car. He says Tito will think those were the good old days after Wrestlemania.
Shawn leapfrogs Scott early and tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Shawn hits a nice dropkick. Scott goes out and Sherri crawls over to him. Shawn then flying lariats Scott from the apron. Shawn superkicks Scott then hits a nasty release backdrop. Shawn then pins him by putting his knee on Scott's chest.
Thoughts: It was all squash here. Shawn showed a little personality in this one.
Vince is disgusted by the lyrics to Shawn's theme after.
We cut to the back and Sherri and Shawn are jumping into a limo despite Shawn being all sweaty. Mr. Perfect then says, "Shawn Michaels has left the building".
WWF Event Cetner
Shawn hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show. He says it's Macho vs Jake in the cage in that one and Mountie vs Bret. The Mountie and Jimmy Hart do a promo. Jimmy asks when Bret will get that The Mountie always gets his man. Mountie says he's a reasonable, handsome and smart man. Mountie says he worked out 3 months in a row to wrestle Bret then Piper showed up and stole the belt from him. He says if he has to go through Bret's skull again, he'll do it.
Bret Hart says he did lose to Mountie and says excuses are for losers. He says Mountie doesn't know what it takes to be champ as he only held onto the IC Title for 2 days. Bret says he knows what it takes and can only get his belt back by going through the likes of The Mountie. He says Mountie can lead, follow or get out of the way.
Tatanka vs Doug Somers
I don't think this is the more famous Doug Summers.
Doug hits a back elbow then is shouldered over multiple times. Tat hits a powerslam then a backbreaker. Tat hits a side slam. Tatanka does an inset promo. He says he wants to give thanks to spirits like Sitting Bull, Geronimo and Crazy Horse. He says with their help, he'll rise to the top of the WWF.
Tat does a nice gorilla press on Doug and hits a knee lift. Perfect says he's going to Ric Flair's dressing room. Tat does a samoan drop variation on Doug and wins.
Thoughts: It was all squash here. I liked Tatanka's gorilla press in this one.
We go to Ric Flair's dressing room with Mean Gene waiting outside. Gene talks about the rumors of Flair knowing something about Macho. Flair has all kinds of photos in his locker room. Flair says it's the wall of fame. Flair says the whole world knows that Macho Man is jealous of Elizabeth. He shows the most recent WWF Magazine and it says "Flair reveals shocking Elizabeth photos". Flair says as Macho prepares for Wrestlemania VIII, Liz is experiencing sweaty palms and finding it hard to look Macho in the eye. Flair says Liz knows that Flair is not only the greatest wrestler alive, but he's also the greatest lover on Earth. Flair then shows photos of himself and Miss Elizabeth at a pool. Flair says it means Miss Elizabeth was his before she was Macho's.
Flair says you can't follow that act and says he's the best. He says the bottom line is that Liz is at his side as he dumped Liz. He says she's damaged goods and was his. Flair tells Macho to look Liz in the eye and ask her as she focuses on Mania. He says Liz was his before he belonged to Macho. He tells Liz to call him as he'll be there 24/7 like he always has been. Flair says the water was a little cold that night and she was a "woo".
Thoughts: This is a little different of a storyline than we are used to as this is kind of a soap opera story. I'm interested to see Macho's response.
The Big Boss Man vs The Brooklyn Brawler
Mr. Perfect is back on commentary and is laughing. He asks Vince if that was the greatest photo of all time. Perfect says there are more pictures.
Brawler side headlocks Boss then Boss shoulders him over. Vince says Macho and Liz may not be the same again and says how dare you dig up that dirt? Brawler nails Boss in the corner then is lariated. Brawler goes out and gets nailed. Brawler's head is banged off the apron.
Boss hits a wind-up shot. Perfect says Liz has skeletons in her closet. Boss spinebusters Brawler and wins.
Thoughts: It was your usual squash with Brawler getting a shot or two in before going down.
Boss handcuffs Brawler after.
WWF Event Center
Shawn hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show. IRS will be facing El Matador. El Matador does a promo. He says IRS is flying high. He says this isn't a tag match and IRS will see what he went through to become a matador. He says IRS will know the matador.
The Nasty Boys do a promo. They say they will run The Bushwhackers through Nastyville. Knobbs says they will get nastysized and knocked out of The WWF.
The Bushwhackers do a promo. Butch says they had trouble with The Smith Brothers in New Zealand and says they were bad. Butch says they will take care of The Nasty's like they did the others.
Wrestlemania VII Report
Mean Gene talks Mania. He says he can't believe the photo he saw earlier and said he hopes to hear from Macho on next week's show.
Hulk Hogan does a promo. He says Sid and Wippleman will not phase Hulkamania. Hulk talks about being at the ocean and seeing people run. He says he faced a killer shark and realized he had an extra passenger. He said he had a shark on him like Sid does with Wippleman. He says Sid and Wippleman will be history at some garbage dump in Indy like the shark. Hulk the swims away.
Thoughts: This was the first mention on this show of Wippleman being Sid's manager.
Roddy Piper does a promo. He says he doesn't steal or beg but he fights as well as anyone. He says Bret Hart is a nice guy and he doesn't want to fight him, but he will rip his throat out. He says this is just what he does for a living.
Bret Hart does a promo. He says it's not a fight that he wants but one he has to have. He says Piper has been a hero but it's time to show the world who is the IC champ. He says he will walk out with the belt at WM8.
The British Bulldog vs The Berzerker, Owen Hart vs Skinner and Tatanka vs Rick Martel have been signed for Mania.
Thoughts: Owen vs Skinner is interesting. Owen's been teaming with Jim Neidhart. I'm wondering if The New Foundation is done already.
Sid Justice vs Mickey Jay
Harvey Wippleman runs down and says he does intros for Sid. He tells us to show Sid the respect he deserves. He says Sid rules the world. Sid then reads some note that he has from a Hulk fan. The fan asks Sid why he turned on Hulk. Sid pretends to cry and says it brings a tear to his eye. The note says if Sid can't be a friend to The Hulkster, then you can't be his friend either. Sid crumbles up the note and says is you are a friend of Hulk's, you are no friend of his.
Sid grabs Jay in the corner and double chops him. Jay is thrown out. Sid lariats Jay from behind. Sid boots Jay in the ring then powerbombs him for the win.
Thoughts: This was a quick squash with Sid mocking the fans beforehand. As I stated earlier, this is the first appearance of Wippleman with Sid.
Harvey pulls out his doctor bag after and checks Jay's heartbeat. A stretcher then comes out. Jay has a "Call 911" sign put on him and a Hulk bandana. Sid then boots him off the stretcher. Sid says Hulk is a loser and a stinking coward.
Thoughts: Sid was putting people on stretchers during his WCW run so it looks like that has carried over.
WWF Event Center
Shawn hypes up the 3/28/1992 Boston Garden show. Jake "The Snake" Roberts does a promo with a cage as he will fight Macho in a cage match. Jake says he hopes Macho is miserable as he deserves it. He says no one should ever trust anyone but him especially a woman. He asks what has a woman done for man since the becoming of time? Jake does a Days of Our Lives reference. He says Macho will be in the cage with him. He says he'd hate to fall of the cage but says accidents do happen with Macho. He says Macho's mind can't be focused on him. Jake questions whether Liz will be at the match or not.
Mr. Perfect promises more photos of Flair and Liz next week. We will also have an interview with Macho and Liz.
Overall thoughts: They dropped the bomb here with Flair alleging to be an old lover of Miss Elizabeth's. That's a soap opera style story (as a lot of Liz and Macho angles have been) and will take Flair/Macho in a different direction at Mania. Sid now has Harvey Wippleman as his manager and Sid is now beating up people on stretchers like he did in WCW. Shawn Michaels is also dipping more and more into his Heartbreak Kid persona. As always, the wrestling was all squashes but news wise, there was a lot of notable stuff going on here. This is definitely one to see if you want to see the build to Wrestlemania VIII.
