WWE LFG 5/4/2025 Episode 12

Note - The coaches will pick someone to continue on and pick someone to lose here. All of these people are under contract so no one is under real danger of being cut. I don't really get why the girls are being matched up with each other either since it's obvious that someone like Zena is miles above someone like Leigh. This is going to be another episode with a lot of worked-worked matches and situations.

We are at the Performance Center. Shawn Michaels says it's the first round of the LFG Playoffs. He says the legends will determine who goes and stays home. He says they will face their own teammates.

Tatyanna has a bruised eye and says this will change everything. Bubba says now this has become real for the wrestlers.

They do a group photo. Jasper says it was surreal. Taker says everything is real now and says the wrestlers see that their run might be over. Leigh says she was just trying to hold it together and has cried enough.

Taker talks to Bayley and Tyra in the ring. Taker says this is his life's passion and it is important to him. Taker asks why he should pick them. Bay says she can change the wrestling world. She thinks she can bring it. Tyra says she's a hard worker and says she will make sure she makes Taker and the kids proud. Taker says to go out and take what is yours, don't leave anything to chance.

Booker T talks to Penina and Leigh in the ring. He says they have been riding together since Day 1 but we're at a fork in the road. Penina says she never thought she'd be in front of the big lights like this. Leigh says she realized she can be that girl and is that girl. Booker says may the best woman win.

Mickie has Sirena and Dani in the ring. Dani is nervous before the match. She says she thinks she showed a lot of potential up front. She says she's been giving her all for others and not herself. Sirena said she knew nothing coming in and is just getting started. Sirena says Dani's greatest strength is her wrestling and says her character and how to stand out is her weakness. Dani says Sirena's greatest strength is her story. She says Sirena's weakness is being cocky.

Bubba talks to Zena and Tatyanna in the ring. He tells them stand up and throws their chairs out. Bubba says it's their Wrestlemania Moment and their chance to steal the show. Zena says she studies film 24/7 and says her life revolves around wrestling. Tatyanna is asked why she should stay. She says she has more to give and cries. Bubba asks if it's tears of disappointment. She says some of it is but she has fallen in love with wrestling. Bubba says it's a great answer.

Zena Sterling vs Tatyanna Dumas

You'd think we would be in front of a real crowd for this, but no. Tat has a black paint line on her eye. Bubba calls Zena "The Meal Ticket". Totally impartial judge here.

Tat hits Zena as she poses on the ropes then stomps on her. Tat gets in the ref's face. Zena rolls her up for 1. Tat hits a nice lariat. Tat chokes her with her knee on the ropes. Tat slams Zena.

Bubba says Tat has forgotten everything. Taker defends her. Tat slams Zena. Zena hits shots to the gut. Tat hits corner spears. Tat chinlocks her. Zena throws her by the arms. Tat misses a corner charge. Zena lariats Tat.

Zena makes her comeback with shots and starts a chant for herself. Zena hits a very dangerous looking northern lights suplex and wins.

Thoughts: We only saw what they let us see here. Tatyanna had her best match yet and showed some fire. Zena's one big move here was sloppy. She did do fine as the underdog face.

Booker says it was Tat's best performance. Taker says they got to see Zena fight from underneath and said she did a good job. Bubba says he's happy but also disappointed. He says it's a tough decision today.

Zena and Tat hug in the back. Zena says she knows how much of a dream this is and talks about what she could have done in their match. 

Penina and Leigh talk. Leigh says she won't hold back and hopes Penina doesn't either. Leigh says they will have a hell of a match. Penina says Leigh will get her @ss whooped.  

Penina Tuileapa vs Leigh Laurel

LL has new white and gold gear with a gold dress and gold bow. Penina has black and red gear.

They lock up twice. LL side headlocks her. PT escapes it then reverses it. LL side headlock takeovers her and side headlocks her. PT backdrops her to escape it. LL no sells it then side headlocks her. Booker defends it.

PT hits corner spears. PT does a trapezus hold. LL's face is banged off the mat then she's rolled. PT blocks a roll-up, stomps her and slips. PT stands on her and shakes the ropes. PT misses a corner charge. LL pump kicks her then hits chops.

LL dropkicks her. LL crossbodies her for the win.

Thoughts: It was simple. LL didn't show a lot as usual. PT has the right idea just she needs some time to work on her balance and execution. It wasn't awful or anything, just not super exciting.

Bubba says there was smoke and mirrors going on and said the match was an aura. He said their gear got his attention. Leigh says she's wearing Sailor Moon gear. Mickie has a problem with it which is so predictable. Taker says he saw growth from both. He says Penina has good instincts. Booker says the match was what it was. He says all good things come to an end but it doesn't mean it's over. He says he has a hard decision to make.

Leigh says PT wasn't holding back and her kicks felt real. PT says she felt good and says she is pressure.

Tyra and Bay talk. Tyra says she's no stranger having to wrestle friends. She says it's do or die and she's doing. Bay says it could be her last chance and she needs to give all she has. 

Tyra Mae Steele vs Bayley Humphrey

Mickie says they look like thye belong on TV. They shake hands and lock up. Bay shoves her and Tyra takes a nice bump. Bay slams her then misses an elbow drop. They back up into the corner and Tyra falls. Bay throws her back in the corner and clubs on her.

Bay knees Tyra in the gut then lariats her for 2. Bay's throat is pulled over the top rope. Tyra clips her. Tyra elbow drops the leg then stomps on it. Tyra ties up Bay's legs and pulls. Bay ropebreaks.

Tyra butt drops the leg. Tyra then is booted over the top while doing it. Tyra comes in and takes a hard lariat. Tyra clips her and bangs the knee off the mat. Tyra ankle locks her. Bay grabs the hair and boots her away.

Bay hits a side slam then chokeslams her. Bay tries her finisher, Tyra slips out and calf crushers her. Bay taps out.

Thoughts: This was a TV worthy match and it was really good. Bay sold well and was great as the big girl. Tyra did some good bumping here and did a great job working the leg. I'm not sure how or why you would cut either of these girls if this was truly a real situation.

Tyra asks for a handshake after. Bay knees her then hits her powerbomb into the powerslam move.

The coaches judge the match. Mickie said they both looked like they belong on TV. Booker says both did awesome jobs. Taker agrees and said they told a story. He said both told him they don't want to go home.

Tyra and Bay greet the other trainees. Drake wonders how they will decide who goes home. Tyra and Bay said it was awesome. Tyra said she felt pressure and said she felt good. She says she wasn't selling. Bay says it was her best performance.

Sirena says you will feel her passion. She says Dani is competition. Dani says the girls set the bar high and they need to go out with a bang.

Dani Sekelsky vs Sirena Linton

SL wristlocks her. Dani headflips and cartwheels out. SL cartwheel flips out of the wristlock. Dani legdrops SL's arm. Dani goes for the armbar. SL headlocks her off the break. Dani side headlocks her.

Dani shoulders her over. Dani crossbodies her for 2. SL throws her down backwards by the hair and pulls her by it. SL bangs Dani's head off the mat. SL hits corner spears. SL stomps on her in the corner. We go to break and return. SL pendulum bronco busters her. SL does a cobra clutch. Dani jawbreakers her. SL knees her in the gut. Dani throws her backwards then pulls on SL's hair and drops her. Dani hits big forearms then flying forearms her for 2. Dani slams her. Dani misses a 2nd rope splash. SL pins her using the ropes.

Thoughts: Dani had some sloppy moments here but also some where she looked like she should be on NXT or Evolve. SL didn't get that much in on this one. 

The coaches chime in. Booker says they worked hard. He said he thought Dani would win the competition but the choice has gotten harder. Taker good job to both and says this is a close call. Bubba says he's a fan of Dani and Sirena won him over. Mickie says it's a tough decision.

The coaches decide who gets points today. Bubba picks Bay/Tyra. Mickie agrees. Taker agrees. Booker says he wants to agree and will but with an asterisk. He says he won't say what the asterisk is though.

The standings are:

Team Undertaker - 8 points
Team Booker - 6 points
Team Bubba - 4 points
Team Mickie - 3 points

The coaches decide who stays and who goes home. Bubba says it's a business. He says both succeeded but Tatyanna succeeded too late. He says she said the right things and moved her. He fist bumps her, shakes her hand and hugs her but tells her she has to to go home (but she obviously won't). Tat says it's a mixed bag of emotions.

Booker says it's a tough choice between Leigh and Tatyanna. He says both girls won tonight but someone must go home. He says Penina put the best effort in tonight. He says Leigh is going home but she did a great job. Leigh says it's not the end and you will see a lot of her later. Leigh says she can't see her life going in another direction and will be a great wrestler someday.

The Undertaker says he's proud of both Bayley and Tyra. He says no one should hang their head. He says has an Olympic gold medalist and someone who will change the face of women's wrestling. He says Tyra is moving on. He says he's proud of Bayley and will always be in her corner. He says she will revolutionize this business. Bayley says she's upset and said Taker got her by saying she will change women's wrestling. She says she's ready to keep going. 

Mickie has to put between Dani and Sirena. Mickie says both have grown and she's impressed. Mickie says she doesn't want to say goodbye to either. We go to break and return. Mickie says Sirena has potential and will run the show but she wouldn't put her on TV yet as it would do her a disservice. She says she has to send her home and tells her to call her. She says she wishes Sirena would just come to her house and let her train her. Dani moves on.

They say the four of them becomes 2 next week. Bubba wonders who wants it bad enough and says it's time we find out. Dani said she wanted to tell Sirena she is amazing and bother were equally deserving. Mickie says Sirena will be a huge star if she can get tucked away for a while. Sirena says she's a future great and will be a legend like Mickie. Taker says everyone got the wake-up call.

Booker tells Leigh she has a great future ahead of her and it's a stop along the way. Booker says they have something to fight for and focus on. Penina says the other girls aren't on the same level as her. Zena says winning the contract would be a dream. She says she's meant to do this. Dani says this happened for a reason. Tyra says she can overcome every obstacle in her way. 

We see Bayley working out. She says the future is endless for her and says she sees herself in the ring in front of a bunc hof fans and says let's f*cking go. 

Overall thoughts: As I said above, no one is really going home or getting cut, just some people may not be on LFG anymore. But LFG is at the playoffs anyway and with only a few episodes left, there's not much show left to have anyway. It's always hard to rate this because they are working something that is already worked. I liked Tyra/Bayley and Zena/Tatyanna wasn't bad. I wouldn't recommend this one as there was too much fake drama.
