WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2025 4/19/2025
Pre-show thoughts: Sadly, I'd say this show summed up what NXT was this year. As I predicted last year, NXT was lacking male talent and was going to have a rough road ahead. Just like with NXT Black and Gold, this version of NXT is slowly becoming another super indy only it's filled with ex-AEW stars this time.
The only match NXT had this year was Trick vs Oba. There was absolutely nothing else that could main event this show and it always seemed like it would be the end game. Instead of just doing that, they threw Je'Von Evans into the mix. While it's a way to give him some credibility, he wasn't pushed enough as a big time player and even in the build, he didn't feel like he belonged. WWE has also done poor job with Trick. He was one of the most over guys in the company in 2024 and they have been flirting with him being being heelish which has cooled him off. Oba has done fine as expected though I do think they should maybe try to add a different side of his character to see if it can work before he eventually goes to the main roster. It's totally possible that this could be the swan song for Trick or Oba in NXT. Trick doesn't have much else left to do.
The women's scene was all about Roxanne Perez this year. Then they signed Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer and she got pushed to the side. Giulia seemed like she was going to be the top dog but Steph did what she did better and Giulia then got pushed aside too. They had a friendship going on with Steph and Giulia and this would have been the perfect place for a rematch after their title vs title match, but they made it a four-way instead. Grace doesn't fit in to this one at all and while Jaida has done a fantastic job this year and grew leaps and bounds, she doesn't fit in this one either and it's not her time yet.
The tag scene has also been about Fraxiom all year. They've been one of the best teams in the world. They probably have gone about as far as they can in NXT and it's probably time to move them up to the main roster. Hank and Tank have been around and have had a story for a while with them trying to figure out who they are. Them winning the tag titles would be a good ending to that story and would get the tag division on a new path. However, they haven't been pushed that strong to lead up to this and they may be a little too over the top ala Mojo Rawley for some of the IWC.
Ricky Saints just joined NXT and won the N-A Title soon after. He has no chance of losing here.
The Darkstate are a new group. They haven't felt like a smash hit so far. Cutler James doesn't really fit in at all and it remains to be seen if Dion will. The D'Angelo Family haven't really changed all that much and it doesn't even really matter if they lose here, which they should.
The Women's ladder match was a random one with various people who weren't on the show otherwise. Kelani and Sol are the only real fits on this one and I just hope no one gets injured. I don't expect a classic.
The #1 contenders match to the Women's Tag Titles hasn't been much better. Meta-Four or Jade/Perez have the best chances of winning.
The show is also missing representation from TNA. TNA wrestlers have been on the show all year but none are on this card.
I wouldn't be shocked if by this time next year, we are looking at something like Ricky Starks vs Je'Von Evans in the 2026 Stand and Deliver main event.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-show: #1 Contender for the WWE Women’s Tag titles - Jackson & Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne vs. Gigi Dolin & Tatum Paxley vs. Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez
Lash and JJ came out with showgirls gear. Shotzi came out with Gigi and TP.
TP was thrown off of Lash's shoulders into a sitout bomb from JJ. Everyone got in to fight. Jacy cannonballed off the apron and then TP did a 2nd rope corkscrew moonsault outside. Gigi did a twisting flip to the outside off the top then Cora did a top rope swanton outside. JJ then did a rare tope con hilo over the ref to the outside. Nyx got involved, pulling out JJ. Lash lifted Perez for a powerbomb and Perez hit a code red and pinned her.
Perez hit a double jump moonsault on Jacy. Perez walks out on Cora for no reason at all then Cora was pinned by both Gigi and TP. Fallon took a nudo + headscissors double team submission and Jacy broke it up. Gigi took a double superplex off the top. Fallon 2nd rope blockbustered Gigi then Jacy pimping knee'd Gigi for 2.
Gigi had the pin but Nyx rolled Jacy over onto her for 2. Jacy then took a cemetary drive and was pinned.
Thoughts: I didn't expect Jacy and Gigi to win. The match wasn't that great. They didn't have a ton of time and they had to rush. Perez ditching Cora made no sense whatsoever and wasn't build to in any way.
WWE NXT North American Championship - Ricky Saints (c) vs. Ethan Page
RS slaps him then hits shots outside the ring. RS enzugiri's him inside then walks the top rope. RS clubs on him from there. RS goes for a tornado ddt but is dropped gut first on the ropes. Page powerslams RS on the apron.
Page hits mounted shots. Page forearms him in the back then both hit forearms. They trade shots and Page spinning side slams him for 2. RS twisting neckbreakers him. RS hits shots. RS hits a destino. RS hits a last ride on Page for 2. page's mouth is busted open. Page hits a single leg codebreaker on him then this a razor's edge for 2. RS hits a flying spear then hits a roshambo to win.
Thoughts: It was just average. There was not much of a story in this one and Ricky won as expected. Ricky's bump on the commentary table looked rough and that backdrop on the ropes spot looked like a bad idea. The fans chanted, "Thank you, Tony" here.
WWE NXT Tag Team Championship - Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) (c) vs. Hank and Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger)
Ax and Hank go at it. Ax top wristlocks him and Hank takes him down. Hank throws him off the waistlock. Hank wristlocks him and Ax dropkicks him. Hank is held for a running kick from NF.

Tank comes off the apron and is superkicked by Ax. Tank takes a top rope dropkick + legsweep combo for 2. Ax top rope spanish flies Tank. NF then phoenix splashes Tank for 2. Tank hits a big lariat on Ax then NF sling blades Tank.
NF misses a phoenix splash. Hank black hole slams NF. Tank topes Ax outside. NF takes a double bodyblock then a powerslam + elbow and is pinned. Hank and Tank win!
Thoughts: Hank and Tank winning was the right option here. Fraxiom did everything they could as champs and will do no worse than other team on the main roster. NXT is developmental and Hank and Tank were ready for a run. This should open up some new matches and be something different for a change. I thought it was a good match with everyone trying hard and putting out a good effort. Hank's splat on the commentary table was funny though. I just wish they would have built this up a little better because the title's changed.
They hug after.

Sol and Zar fight at the top of the ladder. Zar headbutts her. Sol upkicks her off the ladder. Sol flips off the ladder and hits a cutter then does a double sol snatcher. Sol then wins.
Thoughts: It's nice to see Sol finally win something in NXT. This is actually her 2nd title win of the week which is wild as she won the Speed Title. It wasn't great but it was a good enough ladder match with a few big spots. KJ took the worst abuse in this one as she splashed a ladder with Lola on it and was suplexed on the edge of a ladder.
Gigi, Tatum and Shotzi are interviewed. Tatum says it's her first Stand and Deliver and she got to win with her friends. Gigi says they've been busting their butts and want to bring the titles where they belong. Tatum says there's a chance she might have to face Lyra. Gigi says it won't matter as its their moment.
The D’Angelo Family (Tony D'Angelo, Stacks and Luca Crusifino) vs. Darkstate (Osiris Griffin, Sayquon Shugars and Dion Lennox)
I think is Osiris Griffin's TV debut. Everyone brawls on the floor to start. Tony is double teamed to start. Cutler takes a shatter machine. Luca hits shots on OG. Stacks lariats Cutler over the top and goes with him. Cutler grabs a crowbar. He tries to use it and is stopped. Stacks crowbars Shugars in the head and nearly nails tony. Tony spinebusters Cutler and saves Stacks. Stacks and Tony hug. Tony turns his back on sTacks and checks to see if he will hit him with the crowbar. Stacks then low blows Tony. Tony is then throw into a Shugars powerbomb and is pinned.
Thoughts: Welp, it happened. I figured there was a chance Stacks would turn on Tony and they finally went through with it. I'm not sure why he waited all the match to do it though. Stacks vs Tony looks like the next big feud. It was a good match here with a lot of action and chaos. Luca took some hard bumps here.

Grace urakens G then G hits a made in japan on G. JP hip attacks Grace. G rolls up JP for 2. JP running hip attacks G. Steph cancun tornado's JP then hits an SVB on her to win.
Thoughts: Steph was the favorite going in and won. It was a little sloppy early on but got better. They didn't connect as much as they should have on everything but it was a good effort overall. I liked the doomsday device neckbreaker and the JP triple butt press was nice. I would have liked a bigger spot or two and I was surprised there weren't any weapons involved in this. I'm not sure where this leaves the booking now as Steph won decisively here.
Lexis King is looking for The Heritage Cup in the back.
Stacks is interviewed as he leaves. Luca goes up to him and asks what that was about. Stacks says he will explain everything later and see him Tuesday.

Thoughts: It was a better match than expected and both Trick and Evans did a bit more than usual. I thought it was good and certainly worthy of being the main. Oba won here as expected and Evans did not win as expected. What comes next? I have no idea. Evans did add to this but I'm still looking for that Trick/Oba big singles match.
The show ends and Oba talks trash to Trick after and holds his title up at him.
Stephanie Vaquer is posing for photos in the back. Roxanne Perez comes in and says this should be here. Ava tries to stop her. Perez says she was in the wrong spot. She says Steph needs to hand her the title and give her the match she deserves. They shove each other.
Overall thoughts: It was a good show overall. The Starks/Page match was easily the weakest thing on here which isn't shocking. The tag title match was good and Hank and Tank winning was the right call as Fraxiom did everything they could here. The ladder match was good enough but was not as good as prior ladder matches were as expected. There was nothing wrong with the trios match and we got a big turn out of it at least. The women's 4-way was better than expected and Steph won as I had expected. The main was the best thing on here and beat my expectations. This was an easy 7 out of 10 for men. It wasn't as good as some prior years but only one match wasn't that great on the main show. This wasn't a bad watch at all and will be even easier to watch if you can skip through the downtime between matches.
