WWE NXT 11/12/2024

WWE NXT 11/12/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/wwe-nxt-1162024.html

Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson vs Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer

G = Giulia

Lash Legend and Jakara do an inset promo. They say they have been shining on raw and SD while Vaquer and Giulia are here. They say they are the big poppin, show stoppin tag team of NXT. They say they will find out what the Meta girls are about.

G hits Lash in the gut then headlocks her. G pump kicks then then Lash pump kicks her back. G is tripped into an elbow drop. JJ basement dropkicks G. JJ rolls her up then boots her out of the corner. JJ top rope dropkicks her. G does an octopus in the air to JJ and tags out.

JJ is tripped into a 619 then G basement dropkicks her. JJ then takes a double elbow drop. JJ tries a sunset flip on Steph but is legdropped. Steph bangs JJ's head off the mat with her legs.

Lash chops Steph and forearms her down. Lash grabs both opponents in the air and bangs thier heads of the ropes. JJ gets on Lash's shoulders and JJ dives off onto their opponents outside. We go to break and return. Lash delay suplexes Steph. JJ straightjacket chokes Steph.

G is tagged in and dropkicks JJ. G forearms her over then headbutts her. G does a satellite into a sunset bomb on Lash. G suplexes JJ. JJ takes a double backdrop. Lash takes a superkick and a codebreaker from Steph. G dropkicks Lash off the apron. JJ backrolls Steph for 2.

G top rope dropkicks JJ. Steph hits a double underhook backbreaker on JJ. JJ takes a BTE trigger and is pinned by G.

Thoughts: It was a decent opener. Lash and Jakara held up their end of the bargain and had one of their better showings here. I had no issues with this.

Steph and Giulia are interviewed in the ring about Deadline. Giulia says she knew this would come. Steph says she will see her at Deadline. They then shake hands and go face to face.

Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifier - Cora Jade vs Sol Ruca

Cora does an inset promo. She said she stood in the ring with the best women in the world last week. She says she faces Sol. She says Sol can do anything but snatch her sol. She says the division needs her (Cora) as the next Iron Survivor.

Sol takes her down, flips over her back and Cora goes to the ropes. Sol sits on the buckles and waits for her. Cora tells her to get down. Sol drops her on her chest then surfs on her back. Sol superkicks her.

Cora step up knees her in the corner. Cora double stomps her back. Cora running back elbows Sol on the ropes. They trade shots and Sol lariats her. Sol hits flying shoulderblocks then a springboard crossbody. Sol springboards but Cora knocks her off the ropes. Cora misses a knee in the corner and Sol hits the sol snatcher to win.

Thoughts: They did a good job with the finish but the match was nothing special. Cora didn't bring much to this one and they didn't get much time.

Je'Von Evans and Cedric Alexander talk about qualifying for Deadline. Karmen Petrovic and Dion Lennox talk. Dion asks what her favorite color is. Brinley Reece comes in. Ashante Adonis then comes in and gets mad at Karmen. Adonis says Dion is his best friend. Dion asks since when? I think Dion suggests the girls be a tag team so they can work together.

We go to a room in the back. Ava is with a bunch of wrestlers to discuss the state of the tag division. She says she's looking for the next tag team to step up for a title shot. She says she needs everyone to step up and show what the tag division is about. Myles Borne has shaved his head for some reason. OTM says they will make Ava think twice for putting singles guys against the champs. Igwe and Dupont argue with them. Ava says she needs the wrestlers to show her, not talk about it.

Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifier - Wes Lee vs Cedric Alexander

Ced throws him down off the lock up. Ced side headlocks him. Wes slips through the legs of Ced and headscissors him. Wes flipping sentons Ced's back. Wes gets put between the ropes and takes kicks and chops. Ced tries to tope con hilo him but doesn't get enough air.

Wes throws him down by the arm and goes for a cardiac kick but is dropkicked in the air. Ced knees him in the gut then basement dropkicks him. Ced STO's him on the apron then flatliners him off the bottom rope. Wes hits a cardiac kick for 2. Wes misses a top rope 450 then Ced flips him with a lariat.

Wes pulls a turnbuckle pad off and Ced hits a stiff michinoku driver for 2. Ced is dropkicked in the knee and goes face first into the buckles. Wes then hits a meteora and wins.

Thoughts:
The crowd liked it but I wasn't as big of a fan of it. I thought it got off to a slower start and the only question was when Wes was winning since there was no way he was losing here.

We see Tony D'Angleo eating at his restaurant. Shawn Spears and Brooks Jensen come in. Tony says Shawn is constantly following him. Shawn says he cares about Tony's title. He said he let him slide twice. Tony talks about having to beat Oba to get the title. Shawn says he wants Brooks Jensen to fight him. Tony tells Brooks to think for himself. Shawn says the only thing that will satisfy his appetite is the NXT North American Title.

We see Shawn and Brooks get into a car. Shawn says that's how you deal with a boss and then says, "isn't that right, Niko?" and Niko says, "yes it is". Niko is Niko Vance who I don't think has debuted on the main NXT show yet but has been on Level Up.

Kelani Jordan says she's getting her title back. Jacy and Nyx walk in. They say KJ is not beating Fallon tonight and they fill make sure of it.

Trick Williams comes out to talk. He says him and Bubba Ray put Ethan Page through a table. He says he's here to talk about Ridge Holland though. He says Ridge things he got one on Trick and tells him to come out. Chase U's music then hits and Andre Chase is on the stands with a mic.

Chase says he has beef with Ridge Holland and isn't done with him. Trick says he gets it. Trick says we should all recognize Chase for what he has done in NXT. He says Chase has done everything, except a chance at the NXT Title. Trick seems to offer him a shot but Ridge Holland interrupts.

Ridge protests Chase getting a title shot. Ridge tells Chase he moved on and says he made the ECW Arena fall silent when he pinned Trick. He says he's the biggest threat to Trick's NXT Title. Chase says he wants another match with Ridge. Ridge says no. Chase says he will put Chase U on the line against him and says it's his if he wins. Ridge says he doesn't care about Chase U and said he gambled it away and got it back already. He says he only cares about the NXT Title. Trick suggests a Chase vs Ridge #1 Contender's Match for a shot at Trick at Deadline. Trick says he's pulling for Chase though.

Trick says NXT loves Chase U and says Chase U loves NXT. He says Chase has a relationship with the people, Duke, Riley and Thea. Ridge says he'll take that. He says if he beats Chase, his relationships with Thea, Riley and Duke will be done. He says Chase U will be done.

Ridge says it's quite a gamble for the man who can never win the big one. Chase agrees and says he will give him an Andre Chase University sized @ss whopping next week. Ridge forearms Chase down. Trick uranages Ridge. Trick and Chase then hit C-H-A-S-E-U stomps in Ridge together.

Thoughts: They weren't clear about what's on the line but the announcers make it sounds like Chase U disbands if Chase loses. I'm curious as to how that works as I think Trick is going to fight Ridge. I'm wondering if Chase U just gets called up to the main roster as a group and they lose this match to do that.

Jaida Parker does a promo. She says she sees Sol and says that's as close as she will get to being the Iron Survivor. She says she will qualify. She says she will leave Deadline as the Iron Survivor no matter at which position she enters.

Yoshiki Inamura, Ava and Josh Briggs talk in the back. Josh says Inamura impressed him in Japan. Inamura says it's an honor to be on excursion here. Eddy says he needs 5 minutes to talk to her. Ava says she put him in an Iron Survivor qualifier.

Thoughts: I've covered many on Inamura's matches on the blog. Noah's a weird promotion where the old dudes run the show and Inamura has never really been given the chance to be a true star there despite being around a long time and despite Noah not having a ton of options. I don't know what this excursion will do for him. This is first time WWE has taken someone on excursion though Yoshi Tatsu went on excursion to the US and got signed by WWE during it.

Nikkita Lyons vs Adriana Rizzo

Rizz slaps her. They trade forearms. Lyons is sent into the corner and dropkicked there. Rizz is caught coming off the top. Lyons full-nelsons her and bangs her off the ropes during it. Lyons full-nelson slams her. Lyon ripcord throws her.

Lyons hits her with her hips on the apron. Lyons full-nelson's her. Rizz hits flying forearms then springboard twisting crossbodies her. Rizz thesz presses her and pounds on her. Lyons superkicks her and hits a vader bomb for the win.

Thoughts:
I wasn't a fan of this. Rizzo's scrappy and a little rough which makes for odd pacing of matches. Lyons has a new outfit which makes her look like Eagle Sawai and her weight gain is really noticeable. Lyons also is working differently with a lot less kicks and agile moves likely to prevent injury. She hasn't figured out her new offense yet. Combine the two and it wasn't good.

Rizzo hits Lyons with a crowbar after.

Chase U goes up to Andre Chase. They complain about him putting Chase U's existence on the line. Chase says high risk brings high rewards. Duke says that didn't work last time. Chase says Chase U is all about taking risks. He says they have been through it all together and says he won't let anything break this up. Chase says he never had an NXT Title match and gets to do that. He says Chase U will ride the highest of highs. Duke says "or the lowest of lows". Riley complains that he's gambling their future again.

Thoughts: It was good to see Chase U not being dumb babyfaces here and I liked them bringing up Chase's past gambling failures.

Zaria is the subject of this week's NXT Focus. She says some say she's a mystery. She says she's no mystery but a fearless warrior and a destructive force. She says she enjoys inciting chaos and says there will be no more mystery as to who Zaria is at Deadline.

Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifier - Je'Von Evans vs Lexis King

King rolls him up. Evans sunset flips him. King wristlocks him. Evans cartwheels and flips out of it. Evans wristlocks him. King rolls and upkicks him to escape. They end up doing a stand off after another sequence.

Evans shoulders King over. Evans does a seated springboard headscissors then dropkicks King. King rolls out. Evans topes him outside. King goes up and over. Evans tries to like leapfrog him but jumps into King's head. Evans holds his lower parts as King hit him in the crotch on the move.

We go to break and return. King single leg crabs him. Evans lariats and back elbows him. Evans kips down, kips up and hits a stunner on King. Evans suplexes him. Evans springboard crossbodies him for 2. King hits a big superkick off a missed moonsault for 2.

King facekicks him and takes a corkscrew kick off the ropes. Evans hits a top rope frogsplash for 2. King backstabbers Evans then ki krushers him for 2. Evans superkicks him then double jump tornillos him for the win.

Thoughts: It was better than King's usual matches here. He fit in pretty well with Evans. Evans did his flying here as usual. I didn't think it was great but it started off well. This face turn thing is not working for King though and I don't think anyone buys it.

King looks upset after. Evans offers a handshake. King shakes his hand.

Fraxiom are watching the show in the back. Frazer says he got himself an Iron Survivor qualifier. Axiom gets mad. Frazer said Ax was in it before and he wants to ask him for tips. OTM come in and say they have a problem with Frazer going for singles gold. Stacks walks in and tells them to mind their own business. Luca Crusifino joins him and they argue.

Dion Lennox and Ashante Adonis talk in the back. Adonis makes up with him. Lexis King comes ot the locker room and says "another loss". Dante Chen, Hank and Tank comfort him and tell him to keeps his head up. Gallus comes in and rips them for doing this. Everyone then argues.

WWE NXT Women's North American Title - Fallon Henley (c) vs Kelani Jordan

They lock up and roll on the ropes. KJ rolls her off the lock-up then Fallon does the same. KJ legsweeps her then Fallon armdrags her. Fallon hits a big chop. They go face to face and Fallon shoves her. KJ chops her down then KJ tiger feint armdrags her. KJ headscissors her off the up and over then dropkicks her. Fallong bangs KJ's head off the commentary table. KJ moonsaults her off the commentary table.

We go to break and return. KJ armdrags her then they knock each other down at the same time. We go to the back and The NQCC is fighting Dupont and Igwe. KJ hits forearms on Fallon then cartwheel back elbows her. KJ rolls into a standing ssp for 2.

KJ goes for split-legged moonsault and is stopped. Fallon blockbusters her off the 2nd rope and spinning facebusters her. KJ hits a top rope spanish fly on Fallon for 2. KJ misses a 450 off the top. Fallon takes her down with a bodyscissors her. KJ backdrops her. KJ hits a split legged moonsault and Jacy Jayne puts Fallon's foot on the ropes. KJ kicks Jacy for it. Nyx gets on the ropes and KJ throws her in. KJ superkicks Nyx. Jacy punches KJ and Fallon fameassers KJ to win.

Thoughts: This was one of Fallon's best matches. She moved well here and showed some athleticism. I liked the match but I'm not real sure where it leaves either girl booking wise.

OTM then grab Vic Joseph's headset. Price says they will get the tag titles. Luca and Stacks then nail them and the two teams fight. Gallus then join in as do Hank and Tank. Refs then come down to break it up as the show ends.

Overall thoughts: Nothing was great here but I liked the show. There's a lot going on and every match had a reason for happening here. I'm curious as to where all these tag teams fighting goes. I'm interested to see if Chase U survives next week as well. I'd give this one a 6 out of 10.
