TNA Xplosion 10/18/2024
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/10/tna-xplosion-10112024.html
Tasha Steelz vs Rhiannon Jade
Alisha Edwards is with Tasha. They lock up. Tasha wristlocks her and Jade reverses it. Tasha hits chops in the corner. Jade side headlock takeovers her. Jade hits a low flatliner for 2. Alisha Edwards pulls Jade's throat down over the top and Tasha pump kicks Jade.
Tasha headbutts her down and elbow drops her. We cut to the commentators talking as the match goes on which is weird. Tasha chokes Jade over the 2nd rope then Alisha pulls on Jade's hair. Tasha hits corner attacks and hits a shiranui for 2.
Tasha chinlocks her and takes a back body drop. Jade hits running shots on her. Tasha springboards and kind of gets caught with a flatliner for 2. Tasha chinbreakers her. Jade does an over the back neckbreaker on Tasha while she's on the 2nd rope. Tasha boots her out of the corner and hits a 2nd rope meteora. Tasha superkicks and cutters her for the win.
Thoughts: It was fine and got tons of time. There was nothing super notable about it. Jade doesn't have a real good look for wrestling but the crowed seemed to like her some. Jade's over the back neckbreaker was probably the highlight of this one.
Around the Ring with Gia Miller
Leon Slater is this week's guest. Leon talks about his dogs. He has three of them and isn't sure of their ages. He says one of his dogs doesn't like him. He says that dog thinks he's king of the house and says he has little man's syndrome. He says his dog is the nastiest dog he has ever had. Gia talks about her dogs.
John Skyler talks and calls the fans hicks. He says him and Hotch aren't buying that Gresham is a great technical wrestler and says he's one hold better than him. He says he's about to get stretched by these good hands.
John Skyler vs Jonathan Gresham
Skyler boots a handshake away. The lights go out and we hear heartbeat sounds. Josh Alexander then comes out and joins the commentary table. Jason Hotch grabs JG's leg and Skyler clips JG. Skyler tries to trip him but JG blocks it.
JG side headlock takeovers him. Skyler headbutts him in the gut and knees him in the back of the leg. Skyler trips him and ties one of his legs up. JG hits shoulderblocks and rolls Skyler up for 2. They trade pin attempts and JG is thrown into the buckles chest first.
Skyler knee breakers him. Skyler does a toe hold type of move and is pushed into the post shoulder first with JG's feet. JG la magistrals Skyler then Skyler tries a pin on him. JG armdrags him then armlocks him while grabbing the chin. Skyler then surprisingly taps out to it.
Thoughts: It was an unusual match with a weak finish. JG worked the arm/shoulder en route to victory here. There weren't a lot of moves at all and they didn't do anything real flashy. They really kept it simple including the finish.
Overall thoughts: There was only 2 new matches and a new interview. The opener was okay but not must seen and the main event was a very simple match with a simple ending. I wouldn't recommend this.
