WOW Women of Wrestling 6/8/2024 Season 4, Episode 39

David McClane is in the ring and brings out The Beast. We see clips from last week with Abilene Maverick being helped to the locker room by Vickie Lynn McCoy. She is helped to a bus and wheeled to her hotel in a wheelchair.

Dave asks Beast who deserves a shot at her title. The Fab Four and Lana Starr come out. Lana says Beast doesn't look so big and bad now. Lana said The Fab Four demands a title match. Dave asks if this is an ambush. Penelope Pink says it'd be a shame if Beast broke a leg again. She asks if they will get a shot or if they have to take it by force. The Tonga Twins and Tiki Chamorro come out. The two groups of four stare down and Dave sets up a match between them.

We see clips of Ariel Sky beating Coach Campanelli last week in the Freedom Match. We then see The Mother Truckers coming out to save Sky from Top Tier to set up the next match.

Top Tier vs The Mother Truckers and Ariel Sky

The faces are hit from behind before the match starts. Holly and Sky are sent out. Betty boots Krush then running back elbows her in the corner. Betty bulldogs Krush then superkicks her. Krush is straightjacked takedown'd. Holly goes up and butt drops Kandi from the corner then she pump kicks her.

Coach blows her whistle. Holly takes shots from Top Tier as the heels take control. Coach corner lariats and corner back elbows Holly. Glitter hits knees to Holly's gut. Holly is choked by the heels in the corner with Glitter's belt.

Glitter hits knees to Holly's face. Holly goes up and over then Glitter slingblades her. Glitter uses Holly as a stair stepper. Glitter poses on Holly then kneels on her. Coach puts Holly in tree of woe then Krush slaps Holly in the gut.

Holly is popped up into an uppercut then takes a release german from Glitter. Betty forearms Glitter over then Betty is pulled down hard from the apron to the floor. Sky nails Holly on accident outside as Top Tier pose in the ring.

The faces get back in and hit mounted shots on Top Tier. 4 of them roll out then Sky forward cartwheel lariats Glitter. Sky enzugiri's Glitter then bulldogs her. Coach and Krush are thrown into each other outside. Sky top rope moonsaults Glitter and wins.

Thoughts: It had some rough moments to it with Betty getting pulled out hard but I did like it. Betty got her mouth busted open and Sky did not look well (I'm really getting concerned that she isn't healthy enough for this). The format was good here with both team getting some in and the faces making their comeback to win.

Betty gets on the mic after. She says Top Tier won't bother Sky anymore and says she has friends in them. She says not to worry about them. She says you know what you have to say when you need a hand and Sky says "honk honk". They then do a "honk honk" together to end the segment.

Fury vs GI Jane

Jane shoves her over twice. Jane side headlocks her. Fury side headlock takeovers her. Jane headscissors her then shoulders her over. Jane boots her right in the chest. Fury trips Jane into the ropes then poses on her.

Fury knees her in the head for 2. Fury chinlocks her. Jane pushes her over and Fury backhands her. Fury hits a flatliner into a koji clutch. Jane slams her then backdrops her. Jane boots her in the chest for 2. Jane is distracted by Rebel Haze and Fury wins it.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. Jane's offense looked real rough here and the crowd wasn't into this one. Jane's so much better suited as a heel.

Animal Instinct (Goldie Collins and Catarina Jinx) vs The Mighty Mights (Sugar and Spice)

Spice waistlocks Goldie then wristlocks her. Goldie throws her back by the hair then Spice throws her down. Spice gets in her face and spinning heel kicks her. Spice gets confused then The Mights do a dosey do and a footstomp flurry in the corner. Jinx is thrown out then Sugar does a nice snapmare on Goldie. The Mights do cartwheel splashes on Goldie.

Goldie boots Spice then Jinx headbusters Spice for 2. Jinx boots Spice in the corner. Goldie slams Spice. Spice gets her head banged off the apron. Jinx hair throws Spice then curbstomps her. Sugar gets in and chops Jinx. Sugar double axe handles Jinx then springboards into a seatbelt pin on her to win it.

Thoughts: The Mights definitely got lost on a section early here. I liked Sugar's finisher and her snapmare on Golide. The match was just so-so though. I really don't get the Goldie and Jinx team. They just don't seem like people who'd team up together and I wonder how long they will go with it.

We get a video on the history of The Beast vs Vickie Lynn McCoy. We see Beast getting nailed from behind outside and we see Beast giving up her title. We see Penelope Pink winning the WOW Title. We see Sophia Lopez giving Beast a drive that showed McCoy attacking her. We see Beast hitting McCoy with a bat and winning the title back. We then see clips from earlier in the show to set up the main.

The Fab Four (Vickie Lynn McCoy, Penelope Pink and Miami's Sweet Heat) vs Tiki Chamorro, The Tonga Twins and The Beast

We only have about 7 minutes for this. The faces run in and all 8 girls fight in the corners. Pink trips McCoy and Lindsey Carlson and Kona fight. They trade chops. Kona palm strikes Lindsey then Kaoz corner splashes Lori. Lori enzugiri's her and step up knees her.

Kaoz headbutts Lori. Pink and Tiki get in. Tiki this a thesz press and mounted shots. Tiki dropkicks her. Pink snapmares Tiki then sliding lariats her. Pink cartwheel sentons Tiki for 2. Tiki jawbreakers Pink then 619's her.

The Twins and MSH fight. The Twins are sent out then MSH hit stereo ropes outside going into the rails. MSH are backdropped on the rails and land poorly. McCoy release germans Beast and Tiki spears Pink outside. McCoy hits a stiff release german then Beast spears McCoy. Beast then pins her.

Thoughts: We only got about 4 minutes of action here but it was all action. I really liked this. Everything looked good and it was pretty chaotic from start to finish.

Overall thoughts: I liked the main and the opener here. The main was only about 4 minutes long but it was a good 4 minutes. The show was okay overall but not a lot happened storyline wise here and there's not a lot of clues as to where things are headed.
