WWE Main Event 3/27/2024
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/wwe-main-event-3202024.html
Katana Chance vs Shayna Baszler
SB legsweeps her and piefaces her. KC slingshots in and legsweeps her. KC taunts her outside and makes SB chase her. KC slides out of a choke and front face locks her. KC dropkicks her for 1. KC flips then gets her arm kicked. SB stomps KC's arm into the mat.
SB armlocks her then clubs her back. SB is tripped into the 2nd rope then KC flying headscissors her. KC hits boots in the corner then corner lariats her. KC flipping koppo kicks her while she's on all fours.
KC is kicked while she is up top. SB then does a hanging sleeper on KC from the ropes. KC top rope hurricanrana's her for 2. Kayden Carter and Zoey Stark argue outside. Chance dropkicks Stark through the ropes. KC back springboards and is caught with a grounded choke. SB submits her to win it.
The good and the bad were about equal here. KC's backward springboards don't look that great and don't make a ton of sense logic wise. They put some effort into it though, I liked the idea of KC trying to outsmart her and they showed signs that they could maybe do a better one next time.
Malik Blade and Edris Enofe vs Hank Walker and Tank Ledger
Hank pushes Enofe over then Enofe does push-ups. Hank pushes him over again then Enofe side headlocks him. Tank hits a criss cross shoulder then Hank sentons Enofe. Enofe dropkicks Tank in the leg then uses the ropes to armdrag him. Hank is double tripped then takes a double dropkick.
Blade is caught on a top rope crossbody by Tank then Blade takes a double shoulderblock. Blade then takes a sandwich splash from Hank and Tank. Blade rolls up Hank then he hits a nice dropkick on Tank. Hank is thrown out then Blade tope con hilos both opponents. Enofe then does the same (they clearly cut ahead to this).
We go to break and return. Blade hits elbow drops on Tank. Tank is held by Enofe and Blade headhunters him. Tank's mouth is busted open. Tank hits a shot and tags out. Hank hits a thesz press on Blade then pounds on him. Hank corner splashes him then drops him chest first on a slam. Hank wheelbarrow slams him for 2 when Enofe elbows him off the ropes.
Enofe top rope elbow drops Hank for 2. Tank vader bombs outside onto Enofe then Hank flying back elbows Blade. Enofe takes a lariat + slam combo and is pinned.
It was a fast paced match here and it wasn't bad. Hank's hot tag segment wasn't done the best way it could have been though. I do kind of feel bad though for both of these teams. They are mostly ready in the ring but they really need chances to do storylines, promos and personality segments that they just aren't getting.
Overall thoughts: There were only two matches as usual. It wasn't must see. Baszler/Chance had some good and bad points to it and it feels like they could do a really good one together if they were given the time and the build. The tag match was fine. I wouldn't recommend this one.
