NWA Powerrr 3/5/2024
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/nwa-powerrr-2272024.html
Note - There were some weird glitches here at times during the show. I don't know if they were just bad cuts between shots, issues with The CW's website or other things, but they were there.
Joe Galli and Danny Dealz are on commentary.
NWA Junior Heavyweight Title - Colby Corino (c) vs Yabo the Clown
No entrances for either guy here. Yabo does some juggling and drops one of the pins. CC goes to give it to him then is hit with Yabo's tie several times. CC then grabs the tie and chops him. CC then does a nice olympic slam. CC does a standing imploding splash on him. Popcorn fallws out of Yabo's gear then CC puts Yabo's hat on. Yabo throws popcorn at him and hits soul foot. Yabo then rubs more popcorn into his face.
Yabo headbutts him and drops him with a punch. Yabo slams him then misses an elbow drop. CC hits a lethal injection for 2 and Yabo blocks his running boot. Yabo puts him in tree of woe, juggles while he's up top and throws a ball at CC. Yabo then double stomps him. CC lariats him over the top.
CC hits a nice tope. CC sends Yabo's back into the apron then climbs the lightning rig that is designed like a cage. Colby gets sprayed with something while on top of it then dives off of it onto Yabo.
Yabo blows up a balloon as CC stomps him. CC superkicks the balloon in his face then hits a jumping ddt to win it.
I wasn't a fan of this. Yabo was cheating and throwing stuff all over the ring and the ref didn't seem to care one bit. And the best part was that Yabo was supposed to be the face doing this, while Corino was the heel. I didn't like the second half of this either with the flow being interrupted as Corino climbed the lighting rig.
Pretty Empowered do a promo. Kenzie said she was in the Queen Bee's shoes once. She said she's a former tag champ and said she knows how they feel. Kenzie said she wants a 2/3 falls match with them for the women's tag titles. She said if one of The Queen Bee's win, they can get a title shot at the bird (I don't know what that is). Kylie Page said The Queen Bee's know they will win and take the tag titles back.
Blunt Force Trauma (Damage and Carnage) vs The Miserably Faithful (Gaagz the Gymp and Sal Rinauro)
Gaagz gets beat up by one of the BFT members and is sent out. He ends up running into Aaron Stevens then gets hit by Carnage. Damage hits shots on Gaagz then Gaagz takes stomps in the corner. Damage hits headbutts to the gut then Gaagz takes a suplex from Carnage.
Damage headbutts Gaagz in the ribs then slams him. Gaagz tags in Sal. Sal top rope crossbodies Damage and goes up and over him. Sal's sunset flip is blocked then he hurricanrana's Carnage. Sal 619's Carnage thne top rope elbow drops him ofr a 1 count.
Gaagz goes for sliced bread and is caught with a backbreaker. Carnage lifts up Gaagz and Damage top rope elbow drops Gaagz. BFT get the win.
It was an underdog vs big guys match. I liked it for what it was with BFT looking big and bad and The Miserably Faithful trying to be underdog faces here.
Kyle Davis interviews The Southern Six and EC3. EC3 said his match with Matt Cardona took a toll on him by it was worth it to be the champ. He said you have to be the man, the overman. He said he had to toil and sacrifice and cashed in to become champ.
Silas says he knows EC has a problem with retention just by looking at him. He says he looks like he is about to burst. He said there's no scratch on his own face though and he knocked down everyone who was in front of him. He says the thrillride is the longest ride and a long way down. He said it doesn't matter who challenges him next and said you can put King Kong himself in front of him. He said when you step in the ring with him, you don't survive. Alex Taylor says him and Kerry Morton are undisputed and undefeated. Kerry says BFT's belts are awful pretty. Alex says when you're hot, you're hot and when you're not...
Vampiro does a promo. He said after four decades, he has bled and sweat and cried. He said he has been abandoned. He said what good is power if you can't do anything with it? He says if you want favors, you have to pay for it. He said you don't pay for it with money, but it comes from the heart. He said if you ask, he'll come to collect at night when you are sleeping.
Joe Cazana and Anthony Andrews are interviewed. Andrews said The Cazana's tried to rewrite history after NWA 75. He said he needed them when he lost the US tag titles but they were gone. He said Austin Idol brought him back and he buried Joe's legacy.
Joe says Andrews is a waste of space. He said he took his ball and went home. He said he's the biggest and most worthless piece of trash. He said KC Cazana is twice the wrestler he is and he's only been at it 8 months. He said he's coming to take out the trash and kick his @ss.
I won't be covering the Mims vs Max the Impaler match. Max won.
James Mitchell is interviewed with his group after. He said Mims is stupid and doesn't know how to follow the rules. He said 6:05 means 6:05. He says Mims hits like a girl and committed the ultimate sin by putting his hands on him. James says the punishment for that is him being condemned to a hell on earth of his making.
Overall thoughts: This was a shorter episode at 38 minutes. There were some technical glitches here. It was a hard one to follow along with and definitely not recommended for people who don't follow the NWA already. I didn't see the main due to it being intergender wrestling, which I don't support. I didn't like Corino/Yabo due to Yabo using all kinds of items but the BFT/Miserably Faithful tag was okay. I wouldn't recommend this one.
