NWA Powerrr 3/12/2024

NWA Powerrr 3/12/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/nwa-powerrr-352024.html

I will not be covering the Taylor Rising match.

Blunt Force Trauma is interviewed. Aron Stevens says his men are the world tag champs and said all that matters in wrestling is getting the 1-2-3. Aron said they will do a live tape review for the first time on Powerrr. We see clips of Trauma's match with Knox and Murdoch. Trauma takes a high/low then Aron nails Murdoch with a weapon. Carnage then picks up the win. Aron said Murdoch attacked him and said they are the new tag champs.

The Immortals vs The Outrunners

The Immortals jump the runners to start. Odinson beats up Floyd outside and Truth takes a hard ride into the buckles, shaking the post. Kratos forearms Truth down and chops him. Odin chops Truth then kneedrops him. Odin does some weird euro to the back of the neck with a corkscrew.

Odin f-5's Kratos onto Floyd for 2. Kratos throws Truth on a suplex then does it again. Floyd hits Kratos from the apron then is slingshotted in. Kratos running death valley drivers Floyd into the other in the corner. Floyd clips Kratos then Turbo hits shots on Kratos.

Kratos is beat up on in the corner. Truth misses a knee drop then Turbo misses an elbow drop. Turbo is caught off the ropes and overhead suplexed. Odin double lariats The Runners then hits flying euros in the corner. Odin belly to belly suplexes a Runner then Turbo gets pounced by Kratos. Truth is held up by Kratos and Odin 2nd rope euros him to win it while he is in the air.

It was a decent match with the hosses getting their stuff in and The Runners getting to be their old school heel selves as well. I was sure this was going to be a squash so that was a nice surprise.

Zicky Dice is interviewed. He said he wrapped up a 2 year comedy tour. He said he's back and didn't get the championship run he deserved. He said he worked himself into a shoot and said there's going to be two four man matches to set up a shot at the title he had. Dice says anything anyone else can do, he can do better. He says he will take down his opponents next week. He said he equals ratings and is television.

Pretty Empowered are interviewed with Kenzie Page. Kenzie said she loves being called champion. She said it's not about where she goes from here, it's about where the NWA goes from here. She said it's entering it's Pretty Era. Ella said they are history makers and the youngest NWA women's tag champs. She said nobody will take it away from them. Kylie said they don't owe a rematch and say they want to hold a costume contest. Kenzie is asked who is up for a shot. She talks about Kamille and Natalia Markova. She said it doesn't matter, because she's in control. She said nobody will stop Pretty Empowered. Pretty Empowered were fantastic here.

Brady Pierce vs Rolando Freeman

RF is small, like Marko Stunt size small. Brady has some things said to him then he gorilla presses RF. RF gets out and hits shots. RF hits corner punches then Brady blocks his sunset flip. Brady stomps him and hits a deadlift powerbomb.

Brady throws him across the ring then hits a stiff face kick. Brady hits mounted punches then chokes him and pulls his hair on the middle rope. Brady picks him up and throws him overhead. Brady top rope elbows him and gets the win.

It was all squash, as it should have been. Freeman is too small to be in this business.

Koa Laxamana and Kallies Malia is interviewed. He said he is familiar with Joe Alonso and Homicide. He said Homicide is a future NWA Hall of Famer. He said he saw them destroy each other at NWA 75. He said him and Colby Corino could beat those two. Malia says Koa will get the win and will show that he should face Colby. She then says aloha and see you next time.

EC3 is wearing Roman attire and is interviewed. He talks about the NWA turning 75 years old. He said it's taken 75 years to get to this moment. He said they look forward to the future and the age of EC3. He says The Overman Era has begun. He said he will defend his title everywhere and even on Mars if he has to. He said nobody is stronger or harder than The Overman. He said he'd like to revisit an opponent from last year and said Thom Latimer has been warned. This wasn't much of a promo.

The Fixers LLC (Wrecking Ball Legursky, The Fixer and Matty Ice) vs The Southern Six (Silas Mason, Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor)

Kerry charges at The Fixer and pounds on him. The Fixer dropkicks him then Kerry hits forearms. WBL and Alex go at it. Alex hits a shot then WBL knocks him over during his crossbody attempt. WBL gorilla press slams him.

Silas gets in and does a bodyblock battle with WBL. WBL hits chops, punches and an uppercut. Silas facekicks him then WBL headbutts him. WBL misses a corner charge and Silas backdrops him. Ice dropkicks Silas then Silas hits a big lariat on Ice. Alex hits punches on Ice then suplexes him.

Kerry codebreakers Ice's arm then Kerry hits corner spears. Ice bends over and gets kicked by Kerry. Ice bangs Kerry's and Alex's heads together. Ice hits a zig zag on Alex. Fixer top rope dropkicks Silas, Silas no sells it and lariats him. Kerry hits a pumping knee on Fixer and wins it.

It was a short one here. The Six were never really in trouble and it kind of was a quasi-squash. Kerry was real amped up here and I liked Legursky stonewalling the crossbody attempt. They teased issues here with The Fixers.

Overall thoughts: This is a tough show if you are newer to it. They have a large roster, so people get featured for a week or two then aren't seen for a while. They don't do a great job of introducing all of the wrestlers and they do a lot of callbacks to previous events, which a lot of people maybe didn't see it. Pretty Empowered were good as usual. The matches were all rather short for the most part and not worth going to check out. They do keep a fast pace here though and there's no boring moments. I wouldn't recommend this one.
