Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/tna-impact-282024.html
Jake Something vs Frankie Kazarian
Kaz slides out from the lock-up and nails him. Jake flying bodyblocks him then throws him hard over the top to the floor. Kaz is then lariated over the top. Jake is shoved into the steps then his neck is pulled down over the top rope. Kaz legdrops him over the middle rope then hits mounted punches. Kaz neckbreakers him and hits chops, but Jake tells him to hit more.
Kaz grabs him by the head and hits him, asking if he knows who he is. Kaz bangs him in the face with his knee then slams him. Kaz springboard legdropkicks him. Kaz is backed up into the corner then Jake hits a nice running forearm. Jake hits lariats and slams him. Jake then michinoku drivers him for 2.
Jake hits a nasty back elbow, getting Kaz caught in the ropes with it then Kaz slingshot ddt's him for 2. Jake corner splashes him then does a great post spear when Kaz moves. They go up top then Jake is pulled off of it. Kaz grabs the ropes and pins him.
I would have liked them to have protected Jake's size a little more here as Kaz was throwing him around easy. Kaz's bump to the outside was nice as was Jake's corner spear. I still thought it was a decent opener though.
Eric Young does a promo on Frankie Kazarian. He says he's playing himself. He said he thinks he gets the jest of whay Frankie did what he did. He said he has a lot to say and they should do it eye to eye, man to man in the ring like it's always been done.
I will not be covering the women's match.
Gia Miller interviews Ash By Elegance's frontman. He tells her to step off to the side and introduces Ash By Elegance. Ash appears and says she will make her in-ring debut next week. Her hype man tells her to come here and said they have to go as the limo is waiting.
Sound Check with Alan Angels
Alan Angels and Simon Gotch are in Alan's studio playing with the lights. Alan said Josh Alexander didn't want to acknowledge that he stepped on toes to get to the top and said he is giving Simon a chance to tell his story. He said Josh overcame a ban from the US and a broken neck. He said he he put on a match that was so good that Scott D'Amore gave him a contract after the match.
Simon said Josh won the title but said some details were left out like most fairy tales. He asked who was in the ring with Josh that night and asked who brought out the wrestler/champion in him. Simon said it was him. He said his name was edited out of the story though. We then go to a clip of the match.
Alan asks Simon how the footage makes him feel. Simon said he was robbed and said this was something that was taken from him. He said it's just not a few seconds of footage, he killed him by three seconds and built a TNA legacy off his corpse. He said Josh will have to face a corpse trying to bite his face off. He asks if Josh will have the fortitude to face him. Josh then comes in and pushes Alan down. Josh tells Simon he's not hard to find if he has a problem and they fight.
This was a good segment.
Best of 3 Series - Match 2 - The Grizzled Young Veterans vs ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey)
Gibson wants Bey. They lock up and Bey is pushed off. Bey Thesz presses him and hits punches. Gibson takes a double armdrag and a double basment dropkick. Ace chops Gibson and stomps him with Bey. Bey goes up and over Drake then hits punches in the corner. Drake takes a russian legsweep + dropkick to the back of the head. He then takes another double team. Ace's arm is held by Gibson and Drake dropkicks it into the top buckle.
We go to PiP break and return. Ace tries to make a tag and Gibson ddt's him while grabbing the arm. Ace takes a spike tombstone piledriver. Ace spears Gibson from the apron then springboard kicks him. Drake armlocks Ace then Ace slams him while his arm is held. Ace tags in Bey.
Bey hits shots on Drake then knocks Gibson off the apron. Bey topes Gibson then diving lariats Drake off the top. Bey hits kicks on The Vets and brainbusters Drake for 2. Gibson takes a double kick to the head. Drake rolls up Bey for 2. Bey tries to plancha Gibson but gibson swats him down. Bey takes a doomsday device for 2.
Bey spinning forearms Gibson then fameassers him off a springboard. Ace gets in and beats up on Drake then forearms him. Ace spin kicks Gibson and knee's him in the head. Bey stops a double team and Ace bridges Drake, grabbing the pin.
The idea was good here of Ace having his arm worked on but I thought they did too much in this one.
Oleg Prudius is asked questions by Dirty Dango at a race track. He eventually asks tag teams to call TNA's number and set up a match with them.
Mustafa Ali does another political promo. He talks about leadership and said there's opportunities and uncertainty. He said the X-Division is without an identity and he has to ask why. He asked if there is a leader of it and said he is that leader. He said you think he should, just declare, "In Ali We Trust".
The Good Hands do a promo. They said they are fans of Mustafa Ali and have some other fans with them who they say are their supporters. Chris Sabin walks in and asks what's wrong with them. Chris said this is pathetic and Ali doesn't know they exist. A fan says Sabin is cracking under pressure. Sabin runs into another fan and punches him. Sabin pushes Hotch and Skyler says he's cracking.
TNA Digital Media Title - Crazzy Steve (c) vs Rhino
Rhino running lariats him and chops him down. Rhino bangs Steve's head off the apron and Rhino's head is banged off the steps. Steve puts a table back under the ring and said no one gets what they want but him. Rhino backdrops Steve on the apron then Steve pulls Rhino's neck down over the top rope. Rhino suplexes him on the ramp.
Rhino tries to get in and the ropes are kicked into his crotch. Steve headbutts Rhino. Steve goes to hit Rhino with the title and the ref takes it. Steve misses a corner cannonball. Rhino hits some shots and corner spears him. Rhino hits a TKO for 2.
Steve jawbreakers Rhino then Rhino spinebusters him. Steve kneelifts Rhino as he runs with him. Steve throws a fork in the ring and hits Rhino with the title belt while the ref is picking up the fork. Steve then gets the win.
It wasn't bad though there's no way the ref didn't see Steve cheating here.
PCO does a promo yelling Kon's name. He says No Surrender which is the next PPV.
Joe Hendry vs Deaner
AJ Francis raps on the screen while Joe Hendry comes out. We see him getting beaten up by AJ Francis and DJ Whoo Kid. AJ Francis said Joe interrupted him so he is interrupting him back. He says there's a new king in this jungle and says the show should be called, "TN-AJ Francis". Joe Hendry said that caught him off guard and he says he is speechless. He said he has a back-up video just in case. We see Joe rapping on AJ and we see AJ's face in a hoodie. Joe's rap says AJ is banned from diving.
Deaner then nails Joe from behind. AJ Francis then joins in and chokeslams Joe. Rich Swann comes out to help Joe, beating up on Deaner. AJ says it's not about Rich and backs off.
We see clips from WWC Puerto Rico with Steve Maclin jumping Nic Nemeth. I love that Steve went all the way down there just to beat up Nic.
Steve Maclin does an interview with The Rascalz. Steve said his actions speak louder than words and they don't want Nic here. Steve said Nic can hobble his way back here but will never step foot in TNA again. Trent Seven and Mike Bailey come in. Trent challenges Maclin to a match next week.
Killer Kelly vs Dani Luna
Kelly misses a face kick and is exploder suplexed. Dani sliding lariats Kelly for 2. Masha hits a cheapshot on Dani then Kelly exploders Dani. Kelly slaps Dani then Kelly PK's Dani. Dani hits shots on Kelly then Kelly headbutts her.
Dani lariats her twice then flying single leg dropkicks her. Dani pulls on Kelly but her partner grabs onto Kelly too. Dani then pins Kelly.
It was short and there wasn't a lot to it before the finish.
Dani and Jody Threat are jumped after. The lights go out then Decay come out. Kelly and Masha back off out of the ring.
Moose vs KUSHIDA
Alex Shelley, Kevin Knight and The System watch in the back. Kushida takes corner spears to start. Moose misses a corner charge and is pulled to the apron. Kushida handspring kicks Moose off the apron then Moose catches his plancha. Kushida is dropped on the apron and we go to PiP break. We return and Moose hits a nice dropkick. Mouse hits punches on him. Moose chops him outside then takes a chop flurry. Moose slams Kushida on the floor outside.
Moose hits more punches inside then throws him out again. Kushida armbars Moose outside when he goes for a powerbomb. Kushida kick him in the arm and then moonsaults him off the top twice. Kushida puts him in the AT lock and Moose ropebreaks. Kushida armdrags him and hits a code red for 2.
Moose boots him then misses a corner charge. Kushida punches him then takes a spear for the Moose win.
It was a short one but it was fine for what it was with Kushida making his comebacks against the bigger Moose. Both worked the other's arms.
The System come out after and beat up Kushida. Alisha Edwards slaps him then Eddie hits mounted punches. Alex Shelley and Kevin Knight eventually make the save. A fight breaks out between all of them and the heels are ran off.
Overall thoughts: Just an average episode of TNA. Nothing wrong with it but nothing too great or special about it either. I liked the Sound Check segment with Alan Angels and Simon Gotch. The opener had more positives than negatives and the main was average.
