No Disqualification Match - Sammy Guevara vs Powerhouse Hobbs

 

Sammy pumping knees him as he enters. He hits more then springboard cutters him. Sammy lariats him over the top and goes with him. Sammy goes into the camera and says, "I'm a collider now". Sammy is thrown into the steps but jumps over them. He then jumps off the steps and Hobbs catches him. Hobbs hits a world's strongest slam on the steps. Hobbs then does that slam to him on the steps. Hobbs swings him into the rails.

Sammy is sent into the rails. Hobbs yells at Kevin Kelly and tells him to get up. Hobbs tells Kevin to give him his belt. Hobbs whips Sammy with the belt then takes superkicks. Sammy chairs him then throws a chair at him, kicking it in his face. Sammy goes for sliced bread but is thrown on and over the rails. Sammy cutters him on the steps.

Sammy hits a belt shot then slides a chair on a table at him. Sammy sets up a 2nd table next to it. Sammy comes off the top, gets caught and is spinebustered from the apron through tables. We go to PiP break and return. Hobbs misses a splash then Sammy hits a GTH for 2.

Sammy grabs a tv monitor and hits Hobbs with it. Hobbs lariats Sammy. Sammy jawbreakers Hobbs then superkicks him. Sammy double springboards and is caught with a world's strongest slam for 2. Hobbs running face kicks him. Hobbs sets up a table outside.  

Hobbs is pushed into the post then Sammy breaks bottles over Hobbs' head. Hobbs lays on 2 tables outside and Sammy climbs a giant ladder. Sammy swantons off of it onto Hobbs outside. Hobbs is put on a table inside. Sammy goes on the buckles and Hobbs pushes the ref into Sammy, crotching him. Hobbs hits a world's strongest slam off the 2nd rope through a table. Hobbs gets the win.

They did way too much here with both guys going through tables amongst other things and still being able to fight. It was a hardcore match otherwise. Sammy doing a swanton off a ladder through tables was the big spot here.

The Blackpool Combat Club do a promo. Mox talks about CC first coming to America and seeing Regal and Dave Taylor. He walked from the airport to their gym 20 miles on the first day. Mox says CC's a freak and needs to be hit in the face just to wake up. Mox says in a game of who can endure, you have no chance. Mox said a time limit draw is unsatisfactory and now they are p!ssed. Mox said they accept FTR's challenge at Revolution. Mox says they are the elite of the elite. Mox asks what he's thinking of and CC says stuff like The Midnight Express, Tully and Arn and Crockett Promotions. CC said FTR wants to bring back the past but they look to the future. CC said they create the wrestling that they want to see. CC says if they want to step into the future, that path is through them.

Mox said it can't be all that FTR has when they fought in their match. Mox said his team barely pulled the trigger. Mox said they will have to swim in deep water against them and CC says to bring their whole bag of tricks.

FTR vs Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty

Lee hammerlocks Dax and pushes him. Lee wristlocks Cash then rolls him up. Lee dances then backs away. Cash back elbows and armdrags Lee, then slaps the head. Lee is tripped into an elbow drop. Dax and Shane shoulder battle. Dax dropkicks Shane then Shane lariats him.

Lee low dropkicks Dax then Dax chops him. Dax lariats Lee then takes a body block from Shane. We go to PiP break and return. Shane lands on Dax from the backdrop position. Dax cradles a bent over Lee then sleepers him. Shane knees Dax in the face and corner lariats him. Shane uranage's Dax then misses a 2nd rope splash.

Cash is hot tagged in. He hits shots on both opponents then lariats Lee. Cash euros and flying lariats Shane. Cash neckbreakers Lee for 2. Shane hits a great punch on Cash and Lee rolls up Cash for 2. Cash goes up and over, tags in Dax and Lee takes a neckbreaker + powerbomb combo. Dax picks up the win over Lee.

It was fine. Not one of FTR's classics as it didn't have that kind of time. Pretty standard stuff from FTR though and the winner was never really in doubt here.

Cash gets on the mic after. He said Mox said to step and get stepped on. Cash said they are like cockroaches and they can take more than being stepped on. Cash says they know where they will be if they have more to say. Dax says the BCC think they are throwbacks. Dax said this isn't what that's about. Dax says this is Mox's house and he's been the king in the castle since he started. Dax said people are afraid of but says they aren't. Dax says to be the king, you have to kill a king. Dax says they are coming for Mox's head at Revolution.

We get a video for Bryan Danielson vs Jun Akiyama tonight, which is really happening for no reason whatsoever.

Thunder Rosa vs Lady Bird Monroe

Rosa really hasn't lit the world on fire since she returned and hasn't gotten to do much. Lady waistlocks her then Rosa hammerlocks and headlocks her. Lady reverses it and hits forearms and piefaces. Rosa chops her then bangs her head off the buckle. Lady boots and chops her. Lady hits a euro then cartwheels on a snapmare. Rosa then knees her.

Rosa low dropkicks her against the bottom rope then hits an attitude adjustment. Rosa does a package side powerbomb and wins it.

It was a quick squash here. Lady got a lot of offense in and didn't look bad.

Rosa said she's on the top and always works hard after. 

Willow, Kris and Stokeley are interviewed. Stoke said he apologized for what happened last week, saying he apologized then deletes it 5 minutes later. He said Julia Hart and Skye Blue are the past and he wants to focus on the future. Kris and Willow stop him then Kris says she will beat Skye's @ss next week.

Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Billy Gunn, Jay White and Colten Gunn) vs The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson

 

Max forgets his rap on the way to the ring and gives up on it. Boulder and Billy shoulder battle. Billy eye pokes him and shoulders him over. Billy gets shouldered over. Bronson is thrown into Coulder. Bronson takes a double team ending in a dropkick.

Colten misses a corner splash and goes down to the floor. Bronson and Jacked butt drop Colten's back then Boulder suplexes Colten. Colten makes his comeback and tags in Jay. Jay chops Jacked and pulls Bronson down by the hair. Jay hits punches on Jacked then throws Bronson over the top. Jay uranage's Jacked for 2. Boulder splashes Jacked on accident then Billy fameassers Boulder. Boulder takes a bump over the top for it in a dumb moment. Jay hits a bladerunner on Jacked and wins it.

I didn't like this one. They didn't seem to be on the same page and nothing looked that great here. Boulder basically danced and goofed all the whole time.

Bryan Danielson is interviewed by Lexi. Bryan says Jun is legendary and one of the best wrestlers in history. He said he's Eddie Kingston's heroes. He says Eddie will see him beat Jun. He said he respects him but not Eddie. Bryan said shaking Eddie's hand may kill him and said he doesn't respect him. Bryan mocks Eddie's promo and said he's not a professional. Bryan said Eddie had a lot of potential and wasted it. Bryan said he doesn't respect Eddie, but his wasted potential p!sses him off.

Malakai Black vs Bryan Keith

 

This is Black's first singles match in a long time. Bryan wristlocks him, Black snapmares him and Bryan wristlocks him again. Bryan slips out of a headlock to wristlock him again. Bryan face kicks Black then they trade leg kicks. Bryan underhook suplexes him and knee drops him.

Black elbows him in the head then kicks Bryan off the apron. We go to PiP break and return. Black kicks him in the back and Bryan cradles him. They trade forearms and Bryan knocks him down with one. Bryan hits lariats and an exploder. Bryan ushigoroshi's him for 2.

Bryan tornado ddt's him. Bryan and Black trade forearms. Black knees him and leg kicks him. Black push kicks him then Bryan headbutts him. Black top rope double stomps him then germans him.

Black misses a spin kick and is knee'd in the face. Bryan tiger drivers him for 2. Bryan runs at him and takes a spin kick to the face. Black pins him.

I don't know what to make of this one. There were a lot of kicks and shots that probably hurt but weren't real flashy or pretty. I did think Bryan got a little too much offense in here.

The lights go out and Mark Briscoe appears in the ring with a kendo stick. The House of Black come out. Mark clears out Buddy and Brody. Mark then tries to stab Black with a spike like he did to him. Brody fire thunder drivers Mark.

We get a remix of the Sting and Darby promo on The Bucks from this week.

Serena Deeb vs Lady Frost

 

Lady trips her then mounts her with a pin attempt. Deeb bridges out then straightjacket chokes her. Deeb armdrags her then Lady cartwheels on her back and low dropkicks her. Lady goes up and over in the corner then shoulders her over. Deeb armdrags her then rolls into a figure four variation on her.

We go to PiP break and return. Lady takes a dragon screw then Deeb hits punches. Deeb flying lariats her then neckbreakers her over the middle rope. Deeb spinning neckbreakers her for 2. Lady boots her in the face then hits a cartwheel air raid crash for 2. Deeb pepsi twist lariats her then single leg crabs her. Lady then taps out.

You could hear a pin drop at times with the crowd not really caring about this. It was cold and out of nowhere though in their defense. I didn't think they really ever figured out the pace on this one and Frost didn't get to do a lot of her cooler moves.

Deeb does a promo after. She said the women's division is heating up. She said she's waiting for the best here and is ready to elevate the women's division. She said the lights don't turn out and the picture doesn't go black and white when she wrestles. She said when she is in the ring, she wrestles. She said she is back to put the wrestling back in All Elite Wrestling. 

Bryan Danielson vs Jun Akiyama

Jun armlocks him and Bryan gets his back on the mat. Jun armlocks him again then side headlocks him. Jun shoulders him over then bangs his knees and leg into the mat. Bryan knee drops his leg then pulls on it. Jun armbars him and indian deathlocks him. Jun bangs Bryan's arm off his shoulder then drops knees into his shoulder.

Jun hammerlocks him and Bryan pulls him out of the ring. Bryan goes for a tope and is forearmed. We go to PiP break and Jun kind of pulls Bryan off the apron, falling with him. Jun chinlocks him then Bryan hits kicks to the body. Jun sliding knees him then knee drops him as he hangs off the apron.

Bryan suplexes Jun on the floor then flying knees him off the apron. Bryan top rope dropkicks him then flying kicks him in the corner. Jun then lariats him. Bryan lebell locks him. They go up top and Jun knees Bryan whne he comes off the top. Jun piledrivers him for 2.

Bryan single leg crabs Jun when Jun goes for a running knee. Bryan ankle locks Jun then germans him. Bryan hits kicks to the body then Jun exploders him for 2. Jun king crab holds him. Bryan high kicks him and germans him. Jun hits an exploder and knees him. They both go down.

Jun and Bryan flying knee each other at the same time and go down. They trade forearms and Jun drops him. Bryan avoids a wrist-clutch exploder and knees him in the gut. Bryan busaiku knees him and wins it.

It was a decent main. Jun tried a little here and they did some nearfalls before the finish. Nothing too wild here. The double flying knee spot was interesting and I liked the forearm exchange.  

Bryan gives Eddie the finger after then Jun slaps Bryan. Bryan shakes Jun's hand and kicks him in the balls. Eddie then jumps Bryan and pounds on him. Claudio Castagnoli comes down to help Bryan then FTR come down. They set up Eddie and FTR vs Bryan, Mox and CC for Dynamite.

Overall thoughts: They did too much in the opener. FTR's match was fine. They had some issues with the midcard matches here. The main of Bryan vs Akiyama was a solid main as expected but not fantastic. I'd say this one was about average.
