Sting and Darby Allin vs The Workhorsemen

Ric Flair comes out for this. Henry hits Darby as he enters then JD chairs Sting in the back in front of the ref. Nothing happens of course. Sting pushes the chair in JD's head and Flair chops JD. JD is splashed against the rails then Sting is sent into the rails. JD throws Darby into the ropes outside and lariats him.

Darby slaps Henry then is knocked off the 2nd rope. Henry slams Darby then JD headbutts Darby off the top. Henry powerbombs Darby on the knees. JD drops Sting with a punch on the apron then belly to belly suplexes Darby. Jd misses a top rope moonsault on Darby. Darby hits a code red on JD. Sting splashes JD then lariats Henry against the ropes. Sting then throws him out. Darby top rope coffin drops Henry off the top to the outside. Sting reverse ddt's JD and wins it.

I didn't like the pre-match shenanigans with cheating and interference in front of the ref and nothing being done about it. It was a short one otherwise, only going a few minutes.

AEW Continental Crown - Eddie Kingston (c) vs Trent Beretta

They lock up and roll on the ropes. Trent hits forearms then takes a chop. Trent ducks chops, then takes kicks to the back and chops to the front. Trent tornado ddt's Eddie then kicks him in the back. Trent steps on Eddie's throat then suplexes him.

Trent chops Eddie then Eddie corner lariats him. Eddie hits machine gun chops and chops Trent in the face. Trent's eye or nose is bleeding and he tries to plancha Eddie but is hit on his way down. Eddie backdrops him on the floor.

We go to PiP break and return. Eddie facewash kicks him then Trent is pulled down from the buckles. Eddie hots more chops then Trent jumping knees him. Trent hits forearms on the ropes then dropkicks him as he hangs on the ropes. Trent topes him into the rails.

Trent sunset bombs Eddie off the buckles for 2. Eddie explodes him then enzugiri's him. Eddie ddt's him for 2 then Trent germans him three times. Trent flying knees him then gotch style piledrivers him for 2. They trade punches on their knees then Trent hits more forearms. Trent half-nelson suplexes Eddie then Eddie half-nelson suplexes him. Eddie urakens him and hits a suplex for 2. Eddie northern lights bombs him and wins it.

It was long and slow. It was the usual Eddie match that was little but chops and backdrops. Trent got busted open bigtime here. For whatever reason, Trent always has to be protected when he loses singles matches and this was a prime example of it here.

Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander are interviewed by Tony Schiavone. He asks what is going on with Stokeley Hathaway. Willow says Stoke was weird last night on Rampage. Willow said they need to get more wins as a team and keep it rolling. Kris says 2024 will be bigger and better than ever. Kris then shows off some kind of lizard on her shoulder in a bizarre moment.

Hook does a promo outside. He said his win percentage is second to none in the company and says it's time to go after another title. He says he's coming for Samoa Joe and his world title.

Proving Ground Match - Matt Taven and Mike Bennett vs Komander and Bryan Keith

Taven hits Kom from behind then Mike chops Kom in the corner. Taven chops Kom and backbreakers him. Kom boots him and upkicks him. Kom springboard hurricanrana's Taven then Keith gets in. Keith hits forearms on the ropes then face kicks him. Keith hits leg kicks on Taven then Mike forearms him down.

We go to break and return. Mike catapults him into a Taven kick then Taven springboard elbow drops him. Taven lifting flatliners him then is rolled up on the mat. Taven spinning high kicks Keith and Mike chops Keith. Keith belly to belly suplexes Mike in the corner. Kom is tagged in and springboard crossbodies Taven. Kom ddt's Taven then running face kicks Mike off the apron.

Keith running headbutts Taven while he sits on top. Kom gets on Keith's shoulders and underhook suplexes Taven off the top. Keith throws Kom into a tope con hilo onto Taven and Mike outside. Keith knees Taven as Taven runs into him. Mike lariats Keith then piledrivers Kom. Taven running knees Keith then Keith takes a powerbomb + pull down and is pinned.

It was a decent match. Keith is small but he has some fire and plays to the crowd some. Kom didn't have time to do anything stupid here so he looked good. They got close to the 10 minute mark, but I checked and they stayed under 10 minutes as Keith/Komander would have earned a title shot by going 10 minutes.

Bullet Club Gold are interviewed by Renee. Jay says there is no relationship with The Acclaimed when asked. Billy and The Acclaimed walk in. Billy said his dad had to save The Gunn's again. Jay says this is none of The Acclaimed's business. Jay says they started this and will finish it. Max says they can put their hands on them if they want. Bowens said he was thrown through glass, so this is his business. Bowens says the only way to get to the top is through factions and tells them to thin kabout it. Austin says it makes sense to Renee.

Adam Copeland comes out to talk. Adam said him and Christian beat up each other and said he beat him for the TNT title. Adam said he heard Christian say he goes to the back of the line. Adam said as a former champ, he gets an automatic rematch. Adam says Christian says Adam always gets opportunities. Adam says he just works harder than Christian does. Adam says Christian should be kissing Killswitch's butt. Adam says he will start earning his title shot here tonight and says he works hard. He says he's here for a fight and declares this an open challenhe. He says it can be called The Cope Open.

Maria comes out with Griff Garrison and Cole Karter. Griff says a lot of people may be asking who he is. Griff says he steps up to the plate against a hall of famer. He tells him to look at him and show him respect as he accepted his challenge. Adam says he likes him and says he reminds him of himself. Adam said Griff is stepping up from below sea level to Mt. Everest here. Griff slaps him. Adam says that makes him like him more but he will have to beat his @ss.

Open Challenge - Adam Copeland vs Griff Garrison

Adam face kicks him down and hits corner chops and forearms. Adam underhook suplexes him and chops him on the ropes. Adam back body drops him. Adam hits snake eyes on him then lariats him over. Maria grabs Adam's boot. Griff charges at him and misses then Cole trips Adam. Griff face kicks Adam then hits mounted forearms.

Griff chokes him on the middle rope then throws him hard into the buckles. Griff suplexes him then chinlocks him. Griff lifts him up like a backdrop and sitout drops him chest first. Adam pulls him down backwards. Adam flapjacks Griff then baseball slides Cole outside.

Adam pulls Griff's neck down over the top rope then top rope crossbodies him for 2. Griff spinning forearms Adam for 2. Griff goes up top and is caught. Adam hits headbutts up top then top rope superplexes him. Adam lifting ddt's him then crossfaces him to win via submission.

This would have worked better if Griff was on TV recently. It went longer than it needed to and I don't think it did a lot for Adam. It was okay though.

Cole Karter dropkicks Adam after. Cole misses a top rope 405 on Adam then Adam spears him.

Sting, Ric Flair and Darby talk in the back. Ric said next week it's a big week. He says they are in Jacksonville where Sting came to AEW. Darby says he's 26-0 and Ric says Darby's unbeatable. Ric does a woo and Sting says he's ready. Sting says he's on his way to Jacksonville. He says he won't coast his way through the last few weeks and says he's coming to Jacksonville. He said it will be showtime at Daly's Place. Ric says the icon is coming back and they all fire up. Sting says how's that for retro?

Skye Blue vs Kiera Hogan

Skye's hair is up in two buns. Hogan backs her up then is tripped down. Skye side headlocks her then stomps Hogan when she drops down. Skye bangs Hogan's head off the mat and buckle. Skye footchokes her. Hogan slaps her then trips her into the middle rope. Hogan hip attacks her on the middle rope then superkicks her.

Hogan misses a kick, hits a back elbow and takes a forearm to the back of the head. Skye face kicks her against the middle rope. We go to PiP break and return. Skye has her down and hits footslaps. Skye knees her then pulls her down and stomps her. Skye comes off the 2nd rope and takes a superkick. Hogan shotgun dropkicks her and corner lariats her. Hogan running hip attacks her then baseball slides her in the corner. Hogan hits a neckbreaker for 2.

Skye's head is banged off the buckle then Hogan chops her. Hogan hits corner punches then Skye superkicks her twice. Hogan superkicks her twice then Skye TKO's her. Skye rolls back into a grounded dragon sleeper and wins it.

It was better than Skye's usual efforts with no botches. Not great or anything and there were lots of superkicks here. I don't know why Hogan even bothers wearing bottoms since she was basically out there in a thong. This went a little longer than it needed to.

We see a video of Serena Deeb she said she was training in isolation and we see her in a straightjacket. She said she can't be caged and refuses to accept any shackles put on her. She said to be a master, you need to put in 10,000 hours and do things nobody else will do. She says she's the woman of a 1,000 holds and the human torture device. She said at her best, it's magic. She said she's ready to return.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Andrew Everett

CC does an inset. He said he doesn't need a reason to fight, te job is to fight. He says he is really good at his job and makes a challenge for Dynamite to Adam Page.

AE dropkicks CC then hits forearms. CC slams him down hard then chokeslams him. CC running euros him against the rail then giant swings him. AE is thrown hard into the buckles and springboard spinning heel kicks him. AE pele kicks him then does a moonsault to nothing. CC hits a neutralizer and a short arm lariat. CC wins it.

It was a squash and AE had some sloppy moments here. This didn't get much of a reaction as expected due to AE not being around much or really properly introduced.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill are interviewed by Lexi. Strks says he knows the fans of Jacksonville are waiting for his return. He said he debuted there in AEW. Ricky said his first singles match with Sammy is on Dynamite. He said they have a lot of history but he will destroy and manhandle him. Ricky said he only knows how to be absolute. Bill challenges Sammy and Jericho for Battle of the Belts next week in a street fight.

FTR vs The House of Black (Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews)

Dax backs up Buddy then Buddy backs him up in the corner. Dax pushes him then takes a chop. Buddy works Cash's arm then pulls him down by it. Cash kips up and is pulled down by the hair. Cash side headlocks him then Buddy headlock takeovers him. Cash headlock takeovers him.

Dax is tagged in. Buddy takes a double russian legsweep. Dax shoulders over Black. Black snapmares him and Dax blocks his PK. Dax hits punches then Black sits down and stares at him. Dax sits down with him and gives him the finger. Black walks near Dax's family then gets back in. We go to PiP break and return.

Dax elbow drops Buddy. They trade chops and Dax hits euros. Black snapmares Dax then baseball slides him. Cash chops Black and fights off Buddy on the apron. Black legsweeps Cash on the apron then Buddy backdrops Cash on the apron. Black 2nd rope moonsaults Cash outside.

Black hits punches on Cash. Cash pushes Black into Buddy and knocks him off the apron. Cash enzugiri's Black then Buddy kicks Dax to stop the tag. We go to PiP break and return. Dax lariats Buddy then hits corner punches on Black. Dax dives onto Buddy and hits punches then Dax back body drops Buddy while Black has his waist. Dax brainbusters Black.

Dax takes a spinning back elbow from Black for 2. Dax rolls up Black for 2 then Black knees him. Black is crotched on the top rope and FTR hit a powerplex on Black. Buddy top rope meteora's Cash and breaks the pin up. Buddy and Black are sent out then Cash topes both. Cahs is caught then takes a po-up double knee then is thrown into the announcer's table top.

Black stares and points at Dax's family. Dax punches both opponents and flurries Black. Buddy rolls up Dax for 2. Buddy takes a shatter machine for 2. Black kicks Cash on the apron then Black takes a spike piledriver on the apron.

Brody King comes down then Daniel Garcia follows. Garcia chairs him and throws a chair at his head. Garcia tells Dax to get up and cheers him on. Buddy powerbombs Dax for 2 and tries to bridge him but Dax reverses it and pins him.

I wasn't a big fan of this. These two teams didn't have much chemistry and there wasn't anything too special about this one. There were also some sloppy moments early.

The House of Black jump Garcia and FTR after. Cash is curb stomped into a chair then Dax has a chair spin kicked into his face. Garcia takes a chair to the back.

Julia Hart then does a ten count bell ring like someone died. Brody fire thunder drivers Garcia and The House of Black pose.

Overall thoughts: It was mostly filled with squashes and matches with obvious outcomes. The main was the only interesting thing on here and didn't deliver. I don't recommend this one.
