WWE NXT Level Up 8/26/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/08/wwe-nxt-level-up-8192022.html

Edris Enofe and Malik Blade vs Bronco Nima and Lucien Price

Nima and Price debuted on NXT Level Up 8/12 and they did some team poses during their entrance here. They are both bigger dudes with braids.

Blade is pulled down early by Nima. Blade goes for the side headlock and is picked up then shouldered over. Blade cartwheels out of a kick then Enofe top rope double axe handles Nima's arm. Enofe takes a double back elbow then Price clubs Enofe's back. Enofe knees him off the bottom rope then Price is tripped into a double team sequence. Blade dropkicks Price and Nima pulls Price's legs to make him do a split to avoid a flying move. Nima takes off Blade's sweater and throws it at Enofe. Nima then rides his shoulder over the 2nd rope.

Nima hits a nice uppercut then footchokes Blade. Nima hiptosses him then Price hits a nice strike flurry on Blade in the corner. Blade takes like a running double club from both opponents in the corner then Price neck cranks Blade. Enofe gets the hot tag in and fights off his opponents 1v2. Enofe splashes them in each corner and shotgun dropkicks Nima. Enofe bulldogs Nima then does a very long top rope elbow drop on Price. Nima tries to lariat Enofe but goes over the top then Price takes a samoan drop + blockbuster combo for the Blade/Enofe win.

This was a decent little match here. Bronco Nima was a good heel here being vocal and looking big and bad. Blade and Enofe had an energetic comeback. Nima and Price also looked good as a team.

Nathan Frazer was interviewed. He said he has always lookd up to Ikemen Jiro and says jiro could give him fashion tips. He said he will meet his match in the ring tonight. NF asks the interviewer about him. He said he came to the US for soccer and then was thrown a basketball. He said he was told this was a soccer ball, then kicked it and hit someone and a locker in the back. Okay, this was odd.

Amari Miller vs Kiana James

James came out with a bag and had an unintentionally funny tron with her photo on it looking serious. Kiana pushes her over then taunts her. Amari side headlocks her and arm wringers her. Amari slides out of a lariat and poses then Kiana dives at her and hits her head off the mat and misses. Kiana shoulders her over then taunts her. Kiana hits boots in the corner and gutbreakers her. Kiana pulls on her chin with her knee on her back. Kiana bangs Amari's head off the mat then Amari rolls her up for 2.

Amari lariats her then hits a stiff spin kick to the head. Amari does a low flatliner for 2 then Kiana does a swinging facebuster/reverse sling blade for the win.

This was okay. Kiana heeled it up here and Amari did some face stuff. It wasn't too long and they didn't get to do a lot but they showed some personality and color at least.

Ikemen Jiro vs Nathan Frazer

They've really done a bad job with Frazer so far. All they really had to do was just let him wrestle and be an underdog face. They've made him look like a total goof though with bad segments.

They lock up. Jiro arm wringers him then NF armdrags him, but Jiro reverses it into a wristlock lock. NF monkey flips him and Jiro hangs on to the armhold. NF rolls and kips up into an armdrag on Jiro. They both then kip up at the same time and face off. NF runs the ropes fast and hits a hard flying shotgun dropkick, which causes Jiro to bounce off the ropes. NF then armdrags him over.

Jiro is wristlocked and flips off the ropes into an armdrag. Jiro back elbows him then shotei's him. NF does an up and over into flips then crabs him. NF STF's him then bulldog chokes him. Jiro back body drops him then running forearms him. Jiro hits jacket punches then a spinning jacket punch. Jiro misses a slingshot sitdown moonsault then NF springboard dropkicks him. They trade punches and Jiro 2nd rope moonsaults into a kick. NF hits a pheonix splash off the top then wins it.

This had some good stuff to it with a fast pace and high flying but I think it could have been better. They only had a few minutes here and this was thrown out there on a D level show with no build, so that limited its quality. I had really high expectations for it so it ended up kind of being disappointing.

Overall thoughts: Good episode. The main and the opener had some good stuff in them though the main wasn't the classic I thought it could have been. The women didn't do bad either in the little time they got.
