IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 8/6/2022

IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 8/6/2022

We see the Doom Patrol arriving to the ring and talking about the Drunken Express.

The Drunken Express (Pupe Jackson and Excellent Mantel) vs The Doom Patrol

They all hockey fight to start then the Express hits thesz presses and punches. Diabla gets in the ring and tries to slap Mantell, then Mantel is pulled out. They brawl outside and Pupe gets hit while drinking something. One of the DP's then grabs the drink and spits it at him. Mantel fights an opponent in the seats then bangs his head off the rail. Mantel then has a chair thrown at him while Pupe fights with another DP member. Mantel throws the ref into the chairs then Mantel is thrown into the chairs. Mantel hits one of his opponents with a cane then Pupe and a DP member run at each other and fight. The refs try to break it up to no avail then Pupe goes at them 1v2. Diabla kicks Pupe and then she spills a drink.

This was a no contest within a few minutes but this was a good brawl and I wish they would have just let them go.

The Doom Patrol yell in the parking lot and we cut away.

El Wizard vs Barbie Boy

They do anything gay and I shut this off. Barbie feels him up for weapons, then hits an atomic drop and various strikes. Wizard goes outside to stall, Barbie chases after him and is back body dropped on the floor. Wiz bites Barbie's head and chokes him inside. Wiz chokes him with tape for 2.

Wiz continues the beatdown and double underhook suplexes him for 2. Wiz chokes him then misses a butt drop off a sunset flip. Barbie hulks up and back body drops him. Wiz then hits a ddt. Wiz gets the ring bell and fights with the bellringer over it then Barbie rolls him up and wins it.

There wasn't anything wrong with this and it made sense with the heel cheating, leading to his demise. Wiz puts him in the camel clutch after and the bellringer goes after him to stop it. Wiz cuts a promo on him after and throws a chair in the ring.

We run down the card for the next show with Hawking/Savio vs Ferno/Mr. Big, Chicano vs Jay Blake, Lightning vs Nick Mercer, Aiden Grimm vs Manu, Niche vs Azazel, Drunken Express vs Doom Patrol and Jova El Ilegal vs Khriz Diaz.

IWA Intercontinental Title - Azazel vs El Fugitivo Niche

They armdrag each other early and stand off. Niche shoulders him over, slides under him then pushes him out of the ring. Az avoids the tope and a twisting springboard crossbody. Az baseball slides him then chokes him against the middle rope. Niche hits chops in the corner and misses a splash. Az slides through the ropes to lariat him in the corner then top rope dropkicks him.

Az tries to satelittle headscissors him but is caught and dropped. Niche running lariats him, back elbows him then springboard twisting crossbodies him. Niche flips off the 2nd rope and misses Az and rolls him into a kick. Niche then standing corkscrew moonsaults him. Az tornado ddt's Niche then bangs his head off the buckle. Niche then hits a top rope falcon arrow for 2.

They trade chops and Niche does a fireman's carry into a gutbuster. Niche misses a top rope corkscrew dive and Az loads his mask with a weapon. Az misses a top rope diving headbutt then Niche reverse fireman's carries him into a knee to win it.

They did too much here with the top rope falcon arrow not being the finish and kind of had a more indy style match. There was some quality to this though.

IWE Intercontinental Title - Aiden Grimm vs Manu

Fernando Tonos is with Manu. Grimm slides in and hits punches then hits achops. Manu throws him out, but he hangs on then spears him. Grimm is on the 2nd rope and is swept hard back first onto the top rope. Manu then belly to belly suplexes him and pounds on him. Tonos takes cheap shots on Grimm outside then Grimm is rammed back first into the apron. Grimm is then rammed back first hard into the post.

Grimm 2nd rope back elbows him and Manu is busted open somehow. Grimm hits punches on Manu then flying back elbows him. Grimm lariats him and codebreakers him but Jordi the ref slow counts him. Grimm sharpshooters him and Jordi tries to help Manu get the ropes then Tonos helps him. Grimm confronts the ref then Manu flying forearms him in the corner.

Manu puts Grimm in the camel clutch then german suplexes him. Manu then dragon suplexes him and camel clutches him again. Grimm taps out and Manu wins.

This wasn't too long but it was pretty good with both guys looking good.

Tonos happily delivers the title to Manu after and Manu wipes his blood on it. Manu then puts a barbed wire stick against Grimm's head after.

Wizard his usual segment and said he wasn't happy with the bellringer getting involved in his match with Barbie Boy.

IWA World Title - John Hawking vs Kwang the Real Ninja

Fernando Tonos is with Kwang. This Kwang is not Savio Vega and is thin.

John side headlocks him early then shoulders him over. Kwang hits some karate chops and kicks. Kwang trapezius holds him then hits more karate chops. John comes back with a crossbody for 2. Tonos cheats on the outside and Kwang hits shots ot the throat. Kwang hits him in the neck and trapezius holds him again. Kwang mongolian chops him then takes a flying shoulder. John hits lariats and slams him. John hits a big back body drop and full nelson bombs him for the win.

This was short and fine with Kwang beating up on him early then John making his comeback to win.

Mr. Big attacks John from behind as he leaves then seemingly cashes in his medal for a world title shot.

IWA Title - John Hawking (c) vs Mr. Big

They get in the ring and Big throws him out. Big clubs him in the back and John fights back with punches outside. Big spinning side slams him for 2 and chinlocks him. John comes back with punches and they collide shoulders. John then shoulders him over and drapes his throat over the rope. John hits a top rope blockbuster for 2. Big throws his shoulder into the post and getsa chair. The ref takes away the chair then Manny Ferno runs in and lays out John with a shot. Big then elbow drops him and wins it.

Dirty finish here and this was more of an angle than a full match with John getting cheated and screwed.

Overall thoughts: There was nothing great here but there was some decent to good wrestling to be had and it was a good show overall.
