WWE NXT Level Up 7/15/2022
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/07/wwe-nxt-level-up-782022.html
We got 3 announcers today with Matt Camp joining Sudu Shah and Nigel McGuiness
Ikemen Jiro vs Quincy Elliot
Quincy does disturbing dances as usual. Jiro does a cartwheel and Quincy dancys at him. Quincy rams his butt into him, blows a kiss and Jiro throws it away. Jiro then hits it away with jacket in a dumb spot. Jiro goes for something and gets squashed as Quincy reverses it and falls on him.
Jiro gets thrown into the buckles and Quincy gyrates. Jiro goes for a springboard chop then Quincy catches him and chops him. Quincy blocks a sunset flip but misses a butt drop. Jiro then hits a jacket punch in the butt and superkicks him. Jiro then asai moonsaults him for 2.
Jiro goes for the slam but Quincy blocks it again and Nigel brings up Hulk vs Andre from WM3. Quincy does some hip attacks on Jiro in the corner and Jiro blocks the next one then rolls him up to win.
This was mostly comedy, though I guess they did the best they could have with that. It's clear they are going for some comedy exotico gimmick with Quincy and not only is that something I want nothing to do with, but he's wasting his talent with it.
Quincy holds up his arm and hugs him after. I had expected him to turn on him.
This is Sol Ruca's debut. Sol is veyr tan with blonde curly hair. They say she is very athletic and she enters the ring with a slingshot into a handstand.
Kiana snapmares her. Sol cartwheels and does a roll then armdrags her. They say both come from gymnastics and say Sol is from Hawaii and loves to surf. Sol sticks her head between her legs and flips her over then Kiana gets some stomps and a butt drop in. Kiaan kicks her right in the ribs and throws her shoulder int othe buckle.
Kiana hits some knees to the gut and slams her. Kiana bodyscissors her and is on her back with a sleeper. Sol rams her into the buckles and flying shoulders and dropkicks her. Sol hits a leg sweep then forward flips on her. Kiana hits a nice reverse sling blade into a flatliner and wins it.
This wasn't bad at all and Sol looked good in her debut. She's athletic, she's a decent looking girl and we'll have to see what she's got on the mic. I was surprised they had her lose, but it happened twice now with Myles Borne getting it a while ago. Kiana looked better here than in other outings.
Andre Chase and Bodi Hayward vs Javier Bernal and Myles Borne
JB's nickname is now "Big Body Javi" and he has it on his jacket. Thea has one of those cheerleading megaphones with her.
Borne takes Chase down and gator rolls him then fireman's carries him. Chase gives him props. Chase does a nice trip on him and side headlocks him. Borne hits a nice leapfrog and takes a fireman's carry takeover. JB tags himself in and Bodi gets in.
Bodi hiptosses him then lariats him. Borne gets in and JB goes for the cheapshot on the ropes. Bodi yells at him then takes a lariat. Borne then suplexes him and holds on for another. Bodi hits a nice powerslam. Chase gets in and hits some punches on JB then russian leg sweeps him. Chase does the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps and gets kicked after.
Borne accidentally dropkicks his own partner then Chase backdrops him. Borne goes for a tag but no one is there then Chase U hits a double team flatliner move and gets the win.
Nothing wrong with this. Borne continues to look like one of the most crisp wrestlers ever and the Chase U gimmick just gets better by the week.
Overall thoughts: It was okay. We got to see a debut and got to see Myles Borne again. Wasn't a classic or anything but it flew right by and was fun.
