Pro Wrestling NOAH 7/10/2022 Sunny Voyage 2022
I really do like NOAH's roster right now. I love seeing the random foreigners from the US and Mexico being brought in to spice up shows. The variety is just top notch and Wrestle-1 esque.
I saw 6 of the 8 matches.
Rene Dupree vs Kinya Okada
Okada pushes Rene and they trade slaps. Okada headlocks him and they shoulder battle. Okada can't get anywhere with it then is spinebustered. Rene then chops him down. Okada tries forearms but goes down to a knee. Rene hits some knees to the back of the head and legdrops him for 2.
Rene chops him in the corner and Okada tries to fire up. Okada makes a comeback with forearms then takes a knee to the gut. Okada hits more chops and Rene slams him. Rene misses a 2nd rope fistdrop and takes kicks. Okada then is popped up into a knee and takes a cutter. Rene then wins it with a headm, arm and leg submission.
This was just the usual rookie vs vet match with Okada getting destroyed and showing little chance of winning.
Extreme Tiger vs Alejandro
They handshake then Ale is armdragged and holds on to armdrag him. They both take armdrags again and stand off. Ale springboard armdrags him then armdrags him out. Ale then tope con hilos him on the floor. Ale top rope dropkicks him for 2.
Ale basement dropkicks him in the head then Tiger comes back with a tornado ddt. Tiger punches him in the face the sliding facekicks him for 2. Ale does a springboard twisting dropkick then Ale dropkicks him in the knee and ddt's hm from his knees for 2. Tiger hits a headscissors for 2 and rolls him outside. Tiger then hits a corkscrew plancha on him on the floor. Tiger top rope crossbodies him for 2. Ale sits on his shoulders and twisting hurricanrana's him then takes a code red for 2. Tiger then hits a dangeorus looking vertebreaker for the win.
It was a little slower than I expected. There was some okay flying here but this was far from the best they could have done. Still a bit entertaining though with Ale looking good as always. The finish was real stiff.
Anthony Greene vs Stallion Rogers
WWE 205 Live is back baby! I've seen these guys wrestle each other around 3 or 4 times now. They push each other early and Rogers shouldered him over. Greene hurricanrana's him then Rogers rolls through a sunset flip and double stomps him. Rogers chops him in the corner. They slap and forearm each other then Rogers spinning forearms him.
Greene gutwrench suplexes him and throws him hard into the buckles. Rogers flips out of a backdrop then german suplexes him. Rogers delay dropkicks him in the corner then pull-up ddt's him. Rogers then hits a nice top rope splash for 2. Greene superkicks him and hits a release backdrop on him. Greene chinbreakers and neckbreakers him. Rogers gets double underhook ddt'd as he sits on the 2nd rope.
They fight over a back body drop and Rogers over the back neckbreakers him over the knee. Greene powerbombs him and Rogers reverses his roll-up. Greene is backdropped to the outside then Rogers tope's him into the rails. Greene then topes him into the rails and does a phosbury flop type of dive on him outside. Rogers misses a top rope splash then Greene hits his ropewalk twisting crossbody off the top. Rogers then flipping german suplexes him off the top but Greene gets his foot on the ropes.
Rogers throws his elbow pads at Greene then takes a nasty northern lights suplex into the buckles. Green the pulls him into a cool piledriver for the win.
They just got too wild in the 2nd half of this with big moves that weren't needed. The top rope flipping german kickout was absurd.
HAYATA and Simon Gotch vs Kai Fujimura and Seiki Yoshioka
Hayata cartwheels over Seiki early then takes a sliding kick. Gotch rides Kai and fireman's carry takeovers him. Gotch hits some headbutts on Kai then Kai dropkicks him. Kai top rope crossbodies Gotch but Gotch rolls him into an armbar after.
Gotch euros Kai and stomps him. Gotch then sentons his back on the apron. Hayata gets in and basement dropkicks Kai then Kai suplexes him. Kai dropkicks him then Seiki gets in and axe kicks Hayata. The two trade enzugiri's then Hayata step up enzugiri's him again. Gotch hits forearms on Seiki and forearms him in the back of the head. He then facekicks him for 2.
Kai gets in and hits dropkicks on Gotch. Kai then flying forearms him and top rope dropkicks him. Gotch does some weird fireman's carry cutter. Kai does some takedowns on him and sunset flips him for 2. Gotch then hits a nasty gotch style piledriver on him and wins it.
This was boring and nothing special at all. I don't know why it went so long either.
Sugiura-gun (El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Hideki Suzuki, Takashi Sugiura & Timothy Thatcher) vs Daiki Inaba, Masa Kitamiya, Shuhei Taniguchi & Yoshiki Inamura
Sugi and Tani go at it. Sugi takes him over and they do some amatuer wrestling. They both try to gutwrench each other at the same time then Sugi takes a suplex off of it. Tim and Masa get in and Tim elbows him in the side of the head. Suzuki and Ina then go at it and Suzuki hits a big euro uppercut at 5 minutes.
Doc gets in and hits Ina with strikes, and they trade chest clubs for chops. Ina spinning slams Wagner then back elbows him. Ina splashes him and Wagner springboard twisting crossbodies him. Inaba gets in and running forearms Sugi in the corner. He then cannonballs him and hits a blue thunder bomb for 2. Sugi comes back with a knee to the gut then 2nd rope superplexes him for 2. Sugi running knees Inaba and Inaba tries for an armbar but it is broken up.
Sugi and Inaba trade forearms then they trade lariats. Inaba then running lariats him down. Masa and Suzuki gets in and Masa hits offense on him. Masa running lariats him then running lariats him in the corner. Suzuki back body drops Masa then neckbreakers him and jumping knees him. Masa lariats him then Suzuki hits a 2nd rope belly to belly.
Tim hits euro's on Masa then belly to belly suplexes him. Tim hits a running euro then Masa spears him. Tani hits corner clotheslines on Tim and backdrops him for 2. Tim goes for a belly to belly but Tani reverses it. Tani takes euros to the back and front of the head then Tim and Suzuki double forearm Masa. Tim fujiwara armbars Tani and taps him out to win it.
This wasn't anything special. There were too many people involved for anyone to do much of anything and it was far from anyone's best stuff.
Kongo (Hajime Ohara & Kenoh) vs Atsushi Kotoge & Satoshi Kojima
Ken takes a shoulder from Koji early then chest kicks him down. Ohara rolls up Kotoge on the mat then Kotoge jumping back elbows him. Kotoge hits running corner attacks then Koji gets in and neckbreakers Ohara. Kotoge gets back in and Ohara armdrags him into a single leg crab but Kotoge rope breaks. Kotoge takes running elbow drops from both opponents then is stomped on.
The beatdown on Kotoge continues and Kotoge is facelocked in the ropes by Ohara. Kotoge tries to come back but takes a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Kotoge is put on the apron and slingshots into a rolling cutter for 2. Koji and Ken get in and Koji machinegun chops Ken. Koji then top rope elbows him for 2. Ken slap combs him and facekicks him in the corner. Ken then kick combos him and misses a 2nd rope kneedrop. Koji comes back with a ddt. Koji dragon screws Ken then hits a shining wizard.
Koji then cutters him. Kotoge whips Ohara into the rails outside then Ken germans Koji. Ken hits an enzugiri but takes a running forearm. Kotoge top rope hurricanrana's Ken then flying kicks Ohara. Kotoge then tope con hilos on both outside. Koji suplexes Ken then Kotoge running knees Ken for 2. Kotoge moonsaults Ken from the top rope but Ken gets his knees up. Ken spinning high kicks and dragon suplexes Kotoge for 2.
Ohara gets shouldered over by Koji then Ken high kicks Koji. Ken PK's Kotoge and hits a top rope double stomp for the win.
This was nothing special. It went long, they kept it real simple and this was just not a satisfactory main event.
Overall thoughts: This was a lame NOAH house show in front of a crowd who couldn't cheer. I do not recommend this one.
