Big Japan Pro Wrestling 7/18/2022 - Bloody Musou Tournament Round 2

I saw 5 of the 6 matches:

Kaji Tomato, Tatsuhiko Yoshino & Yuji Hino vs. Kazuki Hashimoto, Yasufumi Nakanoue & Yuji Okabayashi

Kaji does his dance as usual and Yoshino joins in. Hino and Oka shoulder battle and chop each other. Hino hits a nice flying shoulder on Oka then they run into each other with a shoulder and both go down. Kaz takes a double team combo from Kaji and Yoshino. Kaz and Kaji go at it then Kaji is thrown out. Kaz kicks him from the apron.

Naka hiptosses Kaji then Oka hits a big slam on Kaji. Kaji flying kicks Naka and tags out. Yoshino gets in and is slammed by Naka. Oka fights off a 2v1 by Kaji and Yoshino then jumping splashes Yoshino for 2. Oka throws Yoshino by his head and over him. He catches Kaji's top rope crossbody. Yoshino gets picked up by Oka and kind of smothers him to get out then Hino and Kaz get in.

Kaz hits kicks on Hino and is thrown back. Hino hits a big exploder for 2. Naka backdrops Hino then Kaz PK's Hino. Oka slams Yoshino, Kaji and Kaz onto Hino then slams Kaz onto Hino again. Hino hits a big lariat on Kaz then Hino lariats Oka and Naka off the apron. Hino then hits a big powerbomb on Kaz and wins it.

It was okay, but they did have to rush some here so everyone could get something in. It probably would have been real good with double the time.

Barbed Wire Board Death Match - Abdullah Kobayashi, Jaki Numazawa & Yuichi Taniguchi vs Hideyoshi Kamitani, Kankuro Hoshino & Yuki Ishikawa

Everyone but Jaki and Hoshino go outside to start then Hoshino and Jaki join them. Jaki grabs Hoshino by the nipples and throws him over on the floor. Abby hits Kami in the head with a cowbell and Yuki enzugiri's Abby. Abby goes into the barbed wire board first then Hoshino kicks the board into his back.

Kami then running shoulders a board into Abby. Abby stunners Kami and Yuichi gets in and pushs people off the apron. Yuichi then northern lights suplexes Kami for 2. Yuichi walks the top rope but is thrown off of it. Yuki then 2nd rope double stomps Yuichi. Yuichi then whips him into the barbed wire board and tags out.

Jaki gets in and goes into the barbed wire board then dropkicks Yuki. Yuki blue thunder bombs Jaki then russian leg sweeps him onto the barbed wire board, but also lands on it in the process. Hoshino gets in and shoulder battles Abby but is shouldered over. Abby misses a top rope elbow on Hoshino then rolls him up for 2. Abby hits a lariat then Hoshino sentons Abby with a chair.

Hoshino hits punches on Jaki then runs into his hurricanrana. He STO's Jaki then is grabbed and pulled down by Abby for the win out of nowhere.

This wasn't anything special. There were too many people involved, not enough time and the finish was rushed as they went too long.

Yankee Two Kenju (Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto) vs Astronauts (Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura)

Abe hammerlocks Yuko then Yuko puts it on him. Yuko rolls through his snapmare. Abe flips out of Isami's ammerlock then Nomura headlocks Isami. Nomura hits kicks on Isami in the corner. Isami and Abe trade slaps then Abe dragon screws him. Abe spin kicks him and Isami dragon screws him off the top running knee.

Yuko gets in and belly to belly suplexes Abe. Yuko then lariats him and standing moonsault double knees him. Abe then dropkicks him in the knee then Nomura kick flurries Yuko in the corner. Nomura running forearms Yuko for 2. Yuko trips Nomura into the bottom rope and Isami dropkicks him there then Nomura takes a double flapjack for 2.

Yuko strike combos Abe then Abe rolls out, hangs onto the bottom rope and baseball punches him. Isami hits a dropkick on Abe, is explodered by Nomura then Yuko top rope dropkicks Nomura. All 4 guys trade forearms then Isami and Yuko take abdominal stretch variations. Yuko pulls Isami in and they knock both opponents over.

Abe and Isami slap each other then Abe back kicks him. Isami blocks Abe's kicks and tries to run through them then Abe hits a great dropkick on him. Abe and Nomura slap Isami at the same time then sandwich kick him for 2. Isami tries slaps on Abe and is whipped into the ropes but he tope con hilos Nomura. Yuko handsprings into the ropes and pele kicks Abe then meteora's Abe in an Isami pin attempt. Isami axe kicks Abe in the back of the head. He gets hurricanrana'd and the two trade pin attempts.

Abe baseball punches Isami, spin kicks him then high kicks him. Abe goes to pick up Isami but is rolled up and pinned.

This was a fun match with the deathmatch guys doing fine outside of the deathmatches. The four matched up well here and once it got going it didn't stop.

Bloody Musou Tournament Second Round Fluorescent Lighttubes Weapon Bringing Death Match - Masaya Takahashi vs. Daiju Wakamatsu

I believe we have a trash can of rocks along with light tubes and chairs here. Daiju is immediately whipped into the tube ropes then Masa is as well. They trade forearms on the floor. Daiju tries to headbutt him near the post, but headbutts the post himself. Masa breaks tubes over his head then Daiju is whipped into the tube ropes.

Masa stabs Daiju in the head with a tube then slams him on tubes. Daiju is slammed onto a chair then has his head banged onto the rocks. Masa then just throws them at his head. Daiju takes a hard bundle of tubes over the head and comes back with a flying forearm.

Daiju hits him in the chest with a barbed wire bat then hits tubes on Masa's body with the bat. Daiju then stupidly flipping sentons the bat into Masa's gut and his own back. Daiju headbutts tubes into Masa's head and bulldogs him for 2. Daiju climbs up top and gets hit with tubes then Masa throws him off the top onto rocks. Daiju is then backdropped onto the rocks.

Masa punches tubes into his lower back and then they trade forearms. They break tubes over their own heads like morons then Masa breaks htem over diaju's head before taking a spinning heel kick. Daiju is suplexed on the mat and rolls him up for 2. Daiju hits a nice dropkick and single underhook suplexes him. Daiju top rope dropkicks him for another 2.

Masa germans him and Daiju no sells it, just to take a lariat. Masa breaks tubes over Daiju's head, side throws him and is then rolled up out of nowhere for the Daiju surprise win at 12:52.

This was little but weapons shots. Wasn't a lot of selling and I hated them busting tubes over their own heads as it implies it didn't hurt. Daiju getting a surprise win was interesting here and doesn't really hurt. I also did like the rocks as weapons as they are something different.

Bloody Musou Tournament Second Round Salt & Lemon Death Match - Takumi Tsukamoto vs Ryuji Ito

They duel tubes to start and Takumi is hit with one, then Ito is thrown into the tube ropes. Takumi then bangs a bundle of them over Ito's head and stabs him with them. Takumi sends him out and plancha's him. He then bangs his head off the apron and hits him wih a tube. Takumi hits him in the head with a chair then breaks tubes over his head. Ito breaks tubes over Takumi's head up top then throws him off the top into a chair.

Ito kicks tubes into Takumi's back then Ito chairs him for 2. Takumi is then sent into tubes on the ropes and has lemon juice poured on his cuts. Takumi fisherman busters him on tube pieces. Takumi slams him and corkscrew vader bombs him off the 2nd rope for 2. Takumi gets a spike brush and puts lemons then lemon juice on it. He squeezes lemon juice onto Ito's head. Ito then pushes the spike brush on him and drips lemon juice on his head.

Ito misses a top rope moonsault and takes a running boot. Ito builds a structure with tube bundles and takes forever to do it. Ito kicks a bundle of tubes in Takumis chest then Ito top rope superplexes him ont othe tube structure. Ito pours a whole bag of salt on Takumi's head then slams him on the side of a chair. Ito then hits a top rope frogsplash for 1 as Takumi gets out and suplex slams him and lariats him.

Takumi throws handfuls of salt at him then steps on the lemons in the bucket. He pours all of them on Ito then double chicken wing bombs him in salt for 2. Takumi puts the lemon bag over his head then does another double chicken wing bomb for the win at 16:16

This was entertaining the lemons and salt getting the crowd interested and it was something a little different for a change. There was little to it but hardcore spots but it kept my interest. 

Overall thoughts: The Astronauts tag match and the main event pretty good. The semi-main wasn't totally without value, but it could have been better. It wasn't must see, but there was some good stuff here.
