#1 Contenders - Kayden Carter and Katana Chance vs Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez

Carter rolls during an armlock and pushes off the ropes to roll back. She armdrags Cora then walks up the ropes and armdrags her. Chance then gets thrown up and she hits la silla on Cora. Chance armdrags her off the ropes and see Toxic Attraction watching from the Toxic Lounge.

Cora basement dropkicks Chance then Perez headscissors Chance. Perez hits another armdrag on Chance then Carter back kicks Perez from the apron. She hits a pepsi twist on her then Chance slingshot sentons on Perez for 2. Chance gets put on Perez's shoulders and then has her throat thrown on the ropes.

Chance escapes a double suplex then Cora and Perez dropkick both opponents. Perez is thrown out and we go to PiP break. We return and Perez takes a codebreaker then Chance double stomps her from that position. Carter crabs Perez then Chance crabs Perez. Cora gets the hot tag in  and headscissors Carter. She then step up enzugiri's her. Carter superkicks Cora in the gut and both fall down after forearms at the same time.

Carter knocks Cora off the apron then Cora pulls Carter out so she and Chance can't do the neckbreaker/450 combo. Perez hits a code red on Chance and wins it.

There wasn't anything wrong with it but it wasn't special and Chance/Carter are the better team. Perez and Cora won't win the tag titles anyway though.  

We see Diamond Mine in their dojo. Gacy and The Diad walk in. Gacy says if Strong doesn't appreciate their brillance, he does. He said he would welcome them with open arms. Julius said they aren't sipping the kool-aid and Diamond Mine is forever. Strong and Kemp come in and Strong calls Gacy an idiot. Strong and Brutus tell them they wull show how strong their bond is whenever and wherever. Gacy agrees and says let's see it tonight.

Toxic Attraction are interviewed. Jacy wasn't impressed with Perez and Jade. Gigi says they have beaten best friends before and next week will be no different. Mandy warns Perez against saving her title shot contract against her. Nikkita Lyons walks in. She said Perez might not have that contract if she was injury free. Nikkita says her eyes are on Mandy. Mandy says all eyes are on her at all times. Mandy agrees to a match tonight.

Giovanni Vinci vs Ikemen Jiro

Vinci and Jiro trade armlocks then Jiro hits jacket punches. Vinci germans him then hits some hard chops. Jiro enzugiri's him and misses an ikemen special. Vinci then springboard tornado ddt's him and the crowd pops big for it. Vinci jaws at the camera then wins with a sitff last ride ligerbomb.

Good squash here though this could have been a lot more and it sucks to see Jiro do squash duty. The new gimmick for Vinci is working and may be the boost he needed.

We see clips of Briggs and Jensen winning the NXT UK Tag Titles.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are interviewed. Melo says no one will get anything over on him and says every rule has an exception when you an exceptional talent like him. Grayson Waller walks in. He brings a basketball in and says his friends want a basketball signed by him. He then gives him a shirt and some photos. Melo says he likes his pendant and Waller says he's the man. Melo and Trick then say he is a trustworthy and great guy.

Joshi Briggs, Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley come out with the NXT UK Tag Titles. They said NXT UK brought the fight, but they brought it back to them. They say they have rematch for Carter and Smith when they return. Jensen thanks Briggs for picking him as his tag partner. Briggs says we have one more thing to do and Henley says, "let's drink some beer".

Pretty Deadly come out. PD says the NXT UK belts were gorgeous when they had them and calls them American trailer trash. PD says the belts smell now. Briggs says he smells an Alabama @ss kicking coming their way and PD mock it. Briggs tells them to shut up. He says lots of great teams held the NXT UK tag title's, but they aren't one of them. They then said, "yes, boy". Briggs then challenges them to fight right now as they will be fighting champs. Briggs says they will make the decision for them and Jensen decks Elton. Both PD members are then lariated out of ring.

We get a Bron Breakker video. We see highlights of him. He says he is high energy, high intensity and high impact. He says he will prove why he is champ every week.

Chance and Carter go to the locker room and are mad. They run into Tatum Paxley and ask what she is looking at. Tatum says she isn't looking at anything and says she is just giving them space. Carter tells her to mind her own space. Tatum accuses them of being mad they lost their match.

Indi Hartwell vs Kiana James

Kiana wristlocks her and Indi armdrags her off of it. Indi drops her on the top buckle face first then has her throat draped over the 2nd rope. KJ stomps on her then bodyscissors her. Indi facekicks her on the ropes then forearms her from the apron. Indi misses a springboard elbow drop then Kiana puts her feet on the ropes and pins her.

The ending was lame and the match wasn't anything special, though it was quite short so it's not like it could be special.

We cut to Tony D on a bridge with Stacks. We hear something go in the water then we see Tony D with Two Dimes' jacket and watch. Tony said he made a move for his chair and he guesses he now sleeps with the fishes. Tony then throws the watch he gave him in the water. Escobar then calls Tony, mocking his N-A title loss. Tony throws his phone saying he had enough of him and is done with him. In real life, Two Dimes was fired (though likely will be brought back) and this is a way to write him off.

Wes Lee does a promo. He ays he was pouring his heart out and Trick Williams ruined his moment. He said his honesty doesn't make him soft and is in fact strength. He says he will show Trick his strenght at Great American Bash and ays he has no respect for him.

Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers vs Joe Gacy and The Diad

Gacy and Strong lock up. Gacy shoulders him over then brings him into corner. Diad 1 gets shoulder thrown by Strong then takes a fireman's carry takedown by Brutus.  D1 gets a gutwrench suplex from Brutus then takes a shoulder throw. Julius gutwrenches Brutus onto D1 then Julius gives D1 a knee and he goes out.

Gacy tells D1 he trusts him and says pain is only temporary. D1 lariats Julius and hits a short armed lariat. Diad 2 gets in and lariats Julius. Gacy takes over on Julius and D2 gets back in. Julius is sittong down and gets up with D2 in suplex position. We then get a triple suplex spot and both Diad members are lariated over the top. Gacy then gets dropkicked out.

We go to PiP break and return. Brutus hits a nice gutwrench on Gacy then gets clipped. Gacy ddt's him. The Diad hold Brutus then Gacy goes upside down in the corner and talks to him. He then uranage's him for 2. D2 neckbreakers Brutus. Brutus tags out and Julius hot tags in. He hits suplexes on both opponents then deadlifts D2 and throws him in a neat suplex. Julius then takes him down and Strong tags himself in. Strong hits a jumping knee then Julius and Strong argue. Strong pushes him. The Diad do twin magic an dswap then Strong is held up by one Diad member and ddt'd by the other for the Diad win.

This was long and wasn't anything special, but it did further the Strong/Creed's issues.

Hayes and Trick are walking out. Trick says he will beat Wes Lee next week and the interviewer said she wanted to talk to Hayes about Waller/Hayes next week. Hayes doesn't know what she is talking about then figures out Waller tricked him and had him sign a contract. Hayes says Waller got him but he will walk out as the N-A champ next week.

We are told Alba Fyre was injured by Lash Legend's baseball bat shot to the throat last week. We go to a trainer in the back and Lash kicks him out. Lash says she put Alba on the shelf permanently. Lash tells the NXT women's division to stay out of her way.

Diamond Mine is arguing in the back. Strong says all the Creed's had to do was listen. The Creed's say they do listen then get blamed. Strong says they have nothing but excuses. He then says him and Kemp will face the Creed's in a match next week for the NXT tag titles. Strong says he will teach them a lesson. Kemp then stares him down.

Sanga vs Xyon Quinn

Xyon attacks him during his entrance. We then go to PiP break. They get them in the ring and the refs get out. Xyon hits a facekick then Sanga hits some punches. Xyon shoulders him and gets nowhere then is run over. Sanga lariats Xyon over the top then Xyon gets back in and chokes him with his knee against the middle rope.

Sanga stares him down and slaps him in the back. Sanga drops him on the buckle face first and hits a big slam on him. Sanga misses an elbow drop then Xyon shoulder dives him for 2. Xyon hits some chest clubs while doring a chinlock to Sangaand is backed up into the ropes. He kicks him in the back then Sanga puts him in a tazzmission. Sanga hits a lariat and slams him again.  Sanga then chokeslams him and takes the win.

Sanga did his thing okay but he doesn't have a lot of moves yet and is limited. Xyon really got jobbed out here and got little in during his whooping. This match was basic, kind of slow and not too interesting.

We get a Cameron Grimes package. We see some clips of him and see some of his segment with Bron from last week.

We see Wendy Choo sleeping and having a nightmare about Tiffany Stratton. We then see her dream become more positive and we see her wake up. She brushes her teeth and thinks about whether she is stupid or not. Wendy says she will get under Tiff's skin, go for the pin and win. This was not good and isn't really explainable in any believeable way.

Nikkita Lyons vs Mandy Rose

They lock up and Lyons throws her around during the lock-up. Lyons throws her around and kips up. Mandy takes shots on Lyons' injured knee then Lhyons leg kicks her. Lyons hip tosses her and corner splashes her. We go to break and return to them mounting and pounding each other a couple of times. Mandy tells her she is nobody then Lyons blocks her punch and hits a lariat and kicks. Lyons' german suplexes her then Mandy top rope dropkicks her. Lyons his some kicks and a nice spin kick. Toxic Attraction then get in, Jacy clips her and Gigi/Jacy beat her down. Mandy get's DQ'd for this. Lyons then gets held as Mandy slaps her. Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez make the save and superkick Mandy.

This wasn't too bad at all before the sudden dirty finish. I liked the leg being worked on here.

Solo Sikoa and Apollo Crews talk in the back. Solo said Waller got lucky against him last week. Apollo says he will get his revenge and says Solo has something special. Xyon Quinn then walks in.  Xyon tells Apollo a lot his changed he last left. Xyon tells him he can't become the perfect star as that's him. Xyon brags about himself. Apollo says Xyon's future looks bright on paper, but isn't looking too good otherwise.

Cameron Grimes is walking in from the parking lot, as is Bron.

We get another Jordan Devlin/JD McDonagh vignette. He says nice guys finish last and he always finishes first. He said he is the man needed to bring balance to NXT. He said he isn't just the ace of NXT UK, but the ace of anywhere he goes.

Grimes and Bron come out and Wade Barrett is in the ring. Bron says we got this. Bron says Grimes has nothing to lose. Grimes then says Bron has nothing to lose. Grimes says he doesn't have a backup plan, but says wrestling is Bron's backup plan. Grimes says Bron was cut by the Ravens, then called up his dad and got a gig in WWE. Bron said he didn't expect it and said he remmebers what happens the last time people started talking about the truth to Bron. Bron said Grimes is going to the moon next week and says he will be speared in half when he gets there. Grimes says Bron may knock him down, but he will get back up. Bron says he will keep knocking him down and tells him to call Ted Dibiase and ask him what to do next when he beats him. Bron says he is bigger, faster and stronger and Grimes says he doesn't have heart, or his heart. Grimes says it's not his fault and it's just genetics. Grimes said Rick Steiner didn't have heart either. Bron picks him up and runs hard int othe buckle. Grimes then throws him hard in again and the top rope comes off. Refs come in to check on Bron. Grimes says at 100% he maybe can't beat him, but right now, it looks like he isn't at 100%.

I wasn't a fan of this one. Grimes was kind of heelish here and Bron wasn't totally likeable either. The angle also probably needs more time to be followed up on but they fight next week, so that can't happen.

Overall thoughts: Not a good episode of NXT. There weren't any standout matches, Xyon got jobbed bad, Carter/Chance got jobbed and came off poor and we had a lot of dirty finishes. Bron also didn't look good in his segment.
