WWE NXT 2.0 6/14/2022
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/06/wwe-nxt-20-672022.html
WWE NXT Tag Titles - The Creed Brothers vs Malik Blade and Edris Enofe
Brutus picks up Blade then Blade goes over his back. Brutus pounces Blade then Julius shoulders Blade. Enofe gets help from Blade and hits a low 619 on Julius then does an interesting sunset flip into a koji clutch.
Enofe hit a nice northern lights suplex then Blade ran into a Brutus lariat. Blade took knees from both opponents then Brutus did a shoulder throw on Julius onto Blade. Enofe hita nice dropkick on Julius then took a hard back drop over the top.
We went to PiP break and returned to Enofe hitting a stiff knee to Brutus' face. Blade basically deadlift backdrops Brutus then Enofe top rope elbows Brutus for 2. We see Diamond Mine watching on in the back then Brutus does a dangerous release backdrop that almost kills Enofe.
Julius gets in and does a stiff belly to belly to Blade then does a spinning suplex to Enofe. Enofe takes a stiff german then Blade crossbodies Julius off the top. Blade hits a nice dropkick on Julius and gets caught on another crossbody. Brutus then hits a stiff sliding lariat and wins it.
Fallon Henley vs Tiffany Stratton
Briggs and Jensen are with Fallon. We see Wendy Choo bouncing around in the background as Tiff enters. Tiff grabs her early and slaps her then Fallon slaps her back. Fallon pounds on her then running kicks her. Fallon goes to slide out but Tiff traps her in the ring skirt and hair throws her. Tiff kneels on the top rope and flips on Fallon then does a cool neck submission with a bridge.
Fallon facebusters her then Tiff comes back with a knee to the gut then samoan drops her. Wendy Choo comes out on a ball then she throws confetti at Tiff. Fallon then picks up the win.
This was real short and not too special. The finish was lame like it often is with anything involving Wendy Choo.
Cameron Grimes is walking around backstage and is down. He runs into Bron Breakker. Grimes tells him and others he is not looking for sympathy. Duke Hudson then walks in and says he has a win over Bron. Bron says it was by DQ and Duke says a win is a win. Bron says they should have a rematch and Bron said he will put the title on the line. Duke agrees.
Lash Legend says she is done with Alba Fyre and talks about her accomplishments in track and field and basketball. She said she was drafted by the WNBA and came to WWE when covid hit. She said she will put an end to Alba next week.
Wes Lee vs Xyon Quinn
I think Xyon has new sunglasses, gloves and entrance music. Wes quickly rolls him up and Xyon hangs him on the top rope. He takes some free shots on him and tries to fling him off but Wes flips back up on his feet. Wes runs into his double forearms. Xyon throws Wes high by the arm then back body drops him.
Wes does a nice backflip into a backflip kick then then does a spiral tap for the win.
Really surprised to see Wes here. This was short but it made sense and was what it needed to be. Wes' flying looked really good here.
Joe Gacy was with the Diad. He said the time has come for them to show what they can do.
We see a package on Nathan Frazer. He lives in Jersey, England near beaches. He played soccer and we see clips of him dressing up in WWE gear. He said he could have played pro soccer but wanted to be in WWE more.
The Diad vs Dante Chen and Javier Bernal
The Diad are wearing their full druid outfits in the ring. One of them is not moving them running forearms JB. JB dropkicks one of them then Chen splashes him. The Diad #1 then gets tripped into an elbow. #1 flying forearms Chen then #2 puts Chen int othe middle buckle. #2 forearms Chen then holds him for punches from #1. #2 takes forearms from JB then JB dropkicks and atomic drops him. JB russian leg sweeps and sliding lariats #2. #2 hits a lariat and tags in #1. The Diad hits a 2 person DDT and #1 picks up the win on Chen.
It was weird to see them wrestle in full druid outfits with hoods. It wasn't anything special and they were limited on what they could do because of the costumes.
Gacy gets on the mic after. He said our negativity has made his 2 men feel inferior. He said they should feel superior. Everyone thought they would unmask but they didn't. He said their schism will continue until this becomes a place of acceptance and belief in their message.
Sanga is talking with Leon and Feroz. Xyon Quinn walks in and tells him to show how tough he is. Sanga stands up, is bigger and brushes him off. Sanga then says he has found his next opponent.
We get a Nikkita Lyons video. We see her training with her injured knee. It said she will be returning soon.
Legado del Fantasma and Tony's crew are out there. Two Dimes is with them even though he is fired. A table is set up with their photos and a red carpet is in the ring. Tony calls over Two Dimes and they talk about him whacking someone at a birthday party. Tony says he met Stacks when they were 6 years old. Tony said he picked a horse for Stacks' father in the Kentucky Derby and things took off. Tony said his crew has done everything for the family. He said he is proud of them and said they will be promoted from associates to soldiers in the family. Tony said business has been booming and gives them watches. He tells Two Dimes to get a steak dinner and something nice. He tells Stacks to take Marie somewhere nice. Tony then calls Santos and tells Cruz he is jefe now.
Tony said they live by a code of silence and loyalty. Not only in words but in actions. Tony said you never rat on your friends and keep your mouth shut. He shakes hands with the 3 and Santos does it begrudgingly. Tony said he now has the strongest family in NXT and says it is time the Don has a title around his waist. Carmelo Hayes then comes out with Trick.
Hayes says he knows Tony wasn't talking about his title. He says Tony doesn't want problems with him or his title. Tony said he warned him to stay out of business. He says interrupting him is a bad move and now him and his title have become his business. Trick says they don't kindly to threats and Tony said he wasn't talking to him.
Tony says Melo isn't the Don of NXT. He said he calls the shots and makes the challenge to Hayes for the North American title next week. Hayes agrees. Stacks says they look ready for something tonight and offers up Stacks and Two Dimes vs Hayes and Trick. Hayes says he doesn't call the shots, he just makes the shot. They agree to the match and Trick says he will make fresh change out of Two Dimes.
Bron Breakker heads to the ring.
Toxic Attraction is in their longue. Jacy says misery and failure love company in regards to Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez. Gigi says Inid is the most pathetic person in NXT. Mandy says they will show why they ar ethe most dominant group tonight.
WWE NXT Title - Bron Breakker (c) vs Duke Hudson
Bron gets jumped as he poses then hits a nice release german on Duke. He flying shoulders Duke then powerslams him. Bron then hits a stiff spear and gorilla presses him into a body slam for the win.
I was disappointed this was a squash. Duke can go enough to have a decent match and this could have been more.
Cameron Grimes comes out. He said he and Bron hadn't had a chance to talk yet. Grimes says Bron has the title due to his last name....though his last name is Breakker. Grimes said he respects him and said he didn't eat off a silver platter, but ate better than he did. He said Bron's dad was a legend. He said everyone knows who Bron's dad is but not his dad. He said his dad didn't get to see him win the title. He said Bron gets better each time he steps in the ring but he doesn't have his heart. He says lets go to the moon and challenges him for the title at The Great American Bash. Bron then accepts.
I thought this was a pretty good promo though the line about his last name didn't work.
Tatum Paxley is on the phone and Ivy Nile interrupts. Ivy tells her to keep it up as she says she is trying to improve her work. Roddy asks what she is doing since she's been burying her. Roddy says there are no excuses then The Creed's walk in. Roddy was mad they shook hands and the Creed's say Roddy was right. The Creed's said they got Strong and Kemp a match for next week. Roddy says he can't because of his ankle then Ivy says, "no excuses".
Giovanni Vinci vs Guru Raaj
Vinci gets some snapshots during his entrance of him posing.
Vinci armdrags him and Raaj has new tights. Vinci does some kip ups and kip downs then gets out of a wristlock. He headlock takeovers Raaj. Vinci hits a hard shoulder on Raaj then slaps and kicks him around. Raaj hits a nice dropkick then Vinci twisting crossbodies him off the 2nd rope.
Vinci hits hard corner shots then a big lariat. Vinci then hits a huge spinning and seated last ride to win it. I didn't think it was that great of a re-debut, but it wasn't bad or anything. Vinci/Aichner isn't a big dude and unless he's secretly a great promo, he has a low ceiling.
Solo Sikoa is interviewed. He said he wants the N-A Title. Grayson Waller then walks in and mocks him always saying he wants the N-A Title. Solo challenges him for next week and Waller agrees, calling himself the Street Champion of Australia.
Blade and Enofe talk in the back. They run into Grimes and say they are going to the club. Grimes asks them about losing. Enofe seems okay about it and says they will get another chance, but Grimes implies it isn't good enough. He said there may not be more opportunities. Grimes says it is not okay to leave before the show is over. He mocks them for wanting to leave. He said Enofe could be the biggest star this company has seen but he is not hungry. He says he doesn't want him to waste his talent because Grimes doesn't waste his.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams vs Stacks and Two Dimes
Tony and LdF are at ringside. Trick does a nice leg trip on Two Dimes. Stacks and Trick trade chops and Hayes hits a big dropkick. Melo goes for a springboard but Tony distracts him on the ropes and he falls out of the ring. Melo is put in tree of woe and stomped.
Stacks goes for a top rope elbow and mock's Melo's pose but misses. Trick gets in and flying clotheslines Stacks. He spin kicks Two Dimes. Del Toro springboards in and nails one of Tony's crew then Melo hits his top rope legdrop on either Stacks or Two Dimes and wins it. Santos laughs outside.
This was short and there wasn't a lot to it before the finish.
The girls head to the ring for the main event.
Tony D's crew talks in the back. Tony said Santos failed him and the family. He tells Wilde and Del Toro they don't listen to Santos anymore and listen to him. He tells them to get it togeher for next week.
Alba Fyre vs Lash Legend, Solo Sikoa vs Grayson Waller and Tony D vs Carmelo Hayes for the N-A Title is set for next week.
Cora Jade, Roxanne Perez and Indi Hartwell vs Toxic Attraction
Jacy shoulders Cora then Cora rolls her into an armdrag and pin attempt. Jacy then neckbreakers Cora for 2. Cora armdrags Mandy then Indi side slams Mandy. TA huddles up outside and we get a 6 girl face off. Indi's team kicks Mandy's team out of the ring.
We go to PiP break and return. Jacy pulls on Perez's arms then Perez gets out and hits armdrags. Jacy spinning forearms Perez then sentons her for 2. Jacy and Perez trade shots. Indi comes in and hits some punches on Mandy. Cora gets in and hurricanrana's Mandy then drops knees on her back for 2.
Cora knees Mandy against the ropes then takes a spinebuster for 2. Jacy gets in and suplexes Cora. Mandy pounds on Cora in the corner. Cora tags out to Indi but the ref doesn't see it. Gigi bow and arrows Cora then Perez beats up on Gigi. Things break down and Indi pushes Mandy off the ropes then they fight outside. Cora top rope sentons Gigi then Perez gets the win over her.
This wasn't that great and went on too long. It kind of got lost near the end and didn't have a real great ending.
Overall thoughts: Not NXT's best night here. There wasn't anything real great on this show.
