Pro Wrestling Zero1/Big Japan Pro Wrestling 3/3/2022 - ZERO1/BJW Clash

BJW×ZERO1合同興行~激突

The stream had technical issues throughout the whole show. They apologized for it but the first match was ruined by it. They tried to fix it at intermission but couldn't.

Daichi Hashimoto & Kazumasa Yoshida vs. Junya Matsunaga & Takafumi

Takafumi and Yoshida start us off. Takafumi has a red mohawk. Daichi and Junya wrestle over an armlock. Yoshida and Junya traded forearms and Yoshida was dropped. Takafumi hit some rapid stomps in the corner on Yoshida then pounded on him. Junya puts Yoshida in a head and arm lock and he ropebreaks.

Daichi comes in and hits some kicks on Junya then knee drops him from the 2nd rope. Taka does a nicer overhead suplex on Daichi. Daichi hits a big kick to the chest then Yoshida hits some flying knees on Taka for 2. Yoshida single leg crabs him but Taka ropebreaks.

Yoshida hits some chest shots and is hip thrown. Takafumi then taps him out with an armbar.

This was really hard to watch because of the technical issues. Takafumi looked okay from what we could see but Yoshida is green and needs a lot of work.

Genta Hiriki & Satsuki Nagao vs. Astronauts (Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura)

Genta is in the blue, Nagao in the black. Nomura and Nagao go at it to start then Nomura kicks him in the back. Abe and Genta trade slaps and Nagao gets thrown out, where Abe rams him into the post.

Genta hits a running forearm on Abe then he and Nomura trade forearms. Genta hits a nice double dropkick on both opponents. He and Abe trade shots then Abe dropkicks him in the gut. Abe and Nomura then double kick Genta in the chest.

Nomura hits a nice euro uppercut on Genta then Genta hits some slaps on him as he is leglocked. Abe then leglocks his other leg at 5 minutes. Abe and Nomura split Genta's legs then Abe and Genta trade slaps.

Genta 2nd rope dropkicks Abe then Nagao hits some charging moves on Abe. Nagao russian leg sweeps him for 2. Nagao and Abe trade forearms and Abe spin kicks him in the gut. Nomura hits some hard forearms on Nagao then backrolls into a hammerlock on him. They trade forearms then Nagao runs him over with one.

Genta hits a 2nd rope moonsault on Abe for 2 then Abe hits a great dropkick. He takes a nearfall on a basebull punch attempt then puts Genta in the octopus stretch and wins it. Nomura throws out Nagao after.

This was a little long at 12 minutes but Abe was good like usual and Genta is really good for a rookie. Keep an eye on him. I liked his trades with Abe and I feel like he gets what he is doing already.

Takuho Kato & Yuji Okabayashi vs. Voodoo Murders (Chris Vice & Yoshikazu Yokoyama)

The BJW crew gets attacked at the bell and Vice/Kato go outside. Kato gets backdropped from the floor to the ring apron. Vice slingshots in with a nice shoulder then Kato gets 2v1'd with chops in the corner. Vice spinning slams Kato then Yoshi chokes Kato with tape.Yoshi mocks Kato when he tries to hit him and Kato tries to tell the ref that Kato hit him low.

Kato escapes a 2v1 and bulldogs Vice. Oka gets in and slams both opponents. Yoshi tries some weak chops but Oka gets him back harder then Yoshi powerslams him at 5 minutes. Vice corner lariats Oka and hits an impressive delayed vertical suplex on him for 2. Vice and Oka trade chops and Oka wins that battle. He then basically runs into a vertical suplex then runs over Vice with a shoulder.

Kato shoulders Vice then Vice takes running corner clotheslines from both opponents. Kato fallaway slams him then Oka gets whipped into a shoulder block on his partner. Oka gets double suplexed then Kato takes a death valley driver from Yoshi and a big lariat from Vice for 2. Vice package piledrivers Kato and wins it.

It was fine. Not great or anything but there weren't too many problems with it and we had some nice stiff action.

Super Tiger & Tsugutaka Sato vs. Masaya Takahashi & Yasufumi Nakanoue

Tiger and Nakanoue go to the mat early on. Sato gets in and wants to do a test of strength on Masa, but he's much taller and Masa climbs the ropes to do it. Sato laughs it off and they trade forearms. Sato slams Masa then Tiger leg kicks Masa down.

Masa his a nice dropkick on Sato and Nakanoue gets in at 5 minutes. Naka hits some forearms to the lower back of Sato. Masa cannonballs Sato in the corner for 2. The two trade forearms then Masa takes a big powerslam. Tiger leg sweeps Masa and spin kicks Naka. He hits chest kicks on Naka then guillotine suplexes him.

Tiger misses a spin kick and gets backdropped. Naka vaderbombs Tiger off the 2nd rope then takes a spinning heel kick. Sato corner charges him with a clothesline then backdrops him for 2. Tiger and Sato hit a high/low on Naka. Masa hip throws Sato at 15 minutes then Sato hits a big lariat on Naka but gets suplexed right after. Naka then hits a big lariat on Sato for 2. Naka hits a top rope elbow drop on Sato and wins it.

This wasn't bad. It wasn't the world's greatest stuff and no one tried super hard since there were only 73 fans there but Tiger and Sato were alright.

Isami Kodaka, Kosuke Sato & Kota Sekifuda vs. Shoki Kitamura, Takumi Baba & Takuya Sugawara

Sugawara and Isami start us off and do a face off early. Sugawara knocks him over with a shoulder and Kota and Baba get in. Baba hits a decent dropkick on him and they trade shots. Baba takes a 2v1 then trades forarms with Sato.

Kota slingshot double stomps Baba for 2. Kota forearms him and gives him a chance to throw one at him but backs up and trips him on the ropes, where a partner gets a cheapshot in. Baba hits a wacky looking enzugiri then Sugawara tries to take a cheapshot on his opponents on the apron but Kota stops it. Sugawara evades a 2v1 then tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Suga.

Isami superkicks Suga then Kota top rope missile dropkicks Suga. Kota crossfaces Sugawara but he rope breaks. Suga distracts Kota and low blows then ddts him. Shoki finally gets in and hits some runnin corner forearms on Kota. He fisherman's suplexes him for 2. Kota and Shoki trade chops and Kota pele kicks him.

Sato does a stiff running dropkick to the gut of Shoki then dropkicks him. Shoki then hits a stiff german on Sato. Baba does a silly looking strike combo on Sato then Sato is irish whipped into a leg lariat, then takes a PK from Baba. Sato puts Baba in a grounded guillotine but he gets out. Baba then takes a suplex/backcracker combo and Kota frogsplashes him from the top.

Isami hits a running knee to a grounded Shoki then Suga takes a cutter from Kota. Sato PK's Baba then michinoku drivers him for 2. Sato gets suplexed off a guillotine attempt, then germans Baba and guillotines him again. Baba then hits a nice roll-up combo out of nowhere to pin Sato. Sato then guillotine chokes Baba after and is pulled off. The two go at it again and Sato has keeps being thrown out by the Z1 team then thrown in by the BJW team. Baba talks trash on the mic and Sato goes at him again. We can't hear any of the trash talk though because it gets muted due to music playing. Sato then goes after Baba as he leaves.

This was alright. Again, nothing great but they didn't really blow anything or do anything stupid and kept it moving for about 15 minutes. The german Sato took was super stiff and Kota looked good here.

Masato Tanaka vs. Akira Hyodo

Hyodo sucks in deathmatches and I'm not sure what he's going to do here in a normal match. He's so bad though usually that I somehow think this can't possibly be worse.

They work a headlock early. They shoulder battle and trade forearms. Tanaka gets thrown into the post. Tanaka wraps Hyodo's legs around the post then chairs them. Tanaka goes to work on the leg then STF's him. Hyodo ropebreaks and they trade forearms.

Tanaka figure fours Hyodo and Hyodo has to rope break again at 10 minutes. Tanaka forearms him against the ropes then Hyodo STO's him. Hyodo samoan drops him then sentons him for 2. Hyodo does a head an armlock and Tanaka rope breaks out. Tanaka ddt's him then Tanaka hit two hard running corner lariats.

He tornado ddt'd him for 2 and Hyodo got his knees up on a top rope frogsplash. Hyodo speared him for 2 the missed a top rope senton. Hyodo hit a fireman's carry gutbuster at 15 minutes then got superplexed. Hyodo came back with a release german which Tanaka didn't sell, then Tanaka hit a sliding D to the back of his head. Tanaka hit a frogsplash for 2 then hit a sliding D for the win. Afterwards, Hyodo talked to Tanaka on the mic

This wasn't too good. It started off on the right page with the legwork but Tanaka forgot about it and Hyodo didn't sell it afterwards. Hyodo then did his usual no selling and Tanaka got the win soon after.

Overall thoughts: There weren't too many people there but nobody took it easy. I didn't really have any issues with anything except the main and thought it was a decent show.
