IWRG 2/26/2022 Torneo FILL 93

IWRG 2/26/2022 Torneo FILL 93

Rey De Fuego & Súper Boy vs. Desastre & Último Caballero

Rey and Ultimo trade roll-ups. Super does a nice springboard armdrag on Desastre and gets shotgun dropkicked. Super moonsaults off the 2nd buckle outside onto Desastre then Rey dropkicks Ultimo.

Ultio gets double backdropped then Des pops up Ultimo into a double dropkick. Des and Ultimo then tope their opponents and Ultimo goes over the rail along with Super. Des top rope splashes Rey then Super 619's Des then moonsaults off the apron onto Ultimo.

Super 2nd rope spanish flies Des and wins it. This was not good as they were all slow but they did hit their spots.  Ultimo was the best of the four by far.

Güero De Tijuana, Skanda & Villarreal vs. Gran Felipe, Guerrero Olímpico & X-Boy

Guero comes out with a rifle and a cowboy hat with marijuana logos on him. He's a real character.

Skanda shoulders X and he flips for it. X did a wild twist on the ropes into an armdrag then Skanda powerslammed him. X headscissors him out. Gran headscissors Villa then twisting headscissors him off the 2nd rope. Gran walks up the buckles and 450 armdrags Villa. Gran then tope con hilos him outside.

Gran takes a 3v1 and gets dropped on his head on a btoched spot. Villa then kind of sentons him from the 2nd rope for 2. X gets held up by two opponents then has his legs pushed up and flips forward. Olimpico gets his crotch rammed into the post then takes a baseball slide. Gran then gets popped up and takes a baseball slide. Olimpico and Gran hit stereo headscissors then both tope their opponents outside.

X top rope hurricanrana's Guero then Gran pyramid driver's Villa on his head. Gran goes for a springboard but gets caught and swinging side slammed. Olimpico and Guero trade chops then Guero's topes him. Gran then poisonrana's Villa and pins him. Skanda gets double superplexed off the top then Gran and X moonsault him off the buckles to win it.

The technicos got in most of the offense here and Gran was the highlight with some cool moves. X can do some cool things but the stuff he does before the cool things isn't good.

Carnicero, Perseo & Rey Aztaroth vs. Blue Win, Jhon Tito & Rey Minos

A bunch of stepkicks to start here. Blue kips up and pulls his opponent's throat into the ropes. Blue and I think Perseo have a nice armdrag sequence then do double kip ups and face off before they get dropkicked hard out. Jhon hits a nice headscissors on Carn then does a nice run up the ropes into an armdrag.

Minos gets popped up to the top rope and does a beautiful hurricanrana. Carn botches a powerbomb on Jhon then the rudos botch a pop-up codebreaker. They botch something else then Minos is double gorilla pressed into a cutter. Jhon gets popped up into a headscissors on Carn then Minos botches a bounce off the ropes headscissors.

Blue does a cool reverse headscissors from the to then Jhon gets whipped into a big tope on Carn. Blue then gets some help up from Minos and moonsaults over the top to the floor. Minos then does a cool corkscrew asai moonsault.

Minos hits a tope then Jhon headscissors Carn. Jhon gets help up to the top rope then moonsaults his opponents outside. Blue gets razors edge'd into the buckle then takes a canadian destroyer ddt from Perseo to get eliminated. Minos then takes a ligerbomb from Rey and is pinned.

Let's put it this way, if this was in the Olympics, they'd get a 10 for difficulty and a 3 for execution. They did some cool stuff, but they also botched some cool stuff.

Caballero de Plata, Hell Boy & Sol vs. Garra Mortal, Kenji & X-Devil

Caballero has a fantastic robe and is over with the young ladies as he works a lover boy type of gimmick. Hell Boy wears leather and is a rocker.

Everyone chops each other to start and Hell Boy topes Garra hard into the front row. Sol twisting armdrags Kenji off the top then does a great tope con hilo knocking Kenji into the 2nd row. CDP hurricanrana's Devil then hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Garra springboard dropkicks Hell Boy. Sol then gets an electric chair drop on the floor then Kenji tries to tope him while he lays on the floor, but mostly hits the floor.

CDP gets double hiptossed into a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo. Hell Boy then takes triple basement dropkicks and Garra is flipped onto him. Sol then flipped off the back of Hell Boy onto Devil outside. The techs hit double sunset flips for 2. then CDP rotation headscissors Garra. He then belly to belly's Garra on the floor and Kenji topes CDP. Hell Boy hits a tope outside then Sol top rope hurricanrana's Devil onto opponents outside.

Hell Boy and CDP double superkick Garra. Sol then does a botched top rope thing that you will have to see the gif for then Sol springboards off the inner rope to the outside for a hurricnarana on Garra. The techs win this during that but the camera's miss it and we have to see it on the replay.

This went a little long and was probably the first non spotfest of the night. I didn't think it was great though.

Torneo - Aguila Oriental, Billy Jones, Calibus, Limbo, Noisy Boy, Spider Fly & Súper Cometa vs. Black Dragón, Cerebro Negro Jr., Cheff Benito, Legendario, Mexica, Puma de Oro & Rey Halcón

Puma de Oro (in the gold and black above) got the win here. Just a crazy 30+ minute flying match with all kinds of dives and typical torneo fast paced action. I gif'd most of the big dives and spots for you but it's hard to give too many details with a lot of these guys being more obscure wrestlers.

Overall thoughts: I skipped the intergender match but there were a lot of cool spots and cool flying on the show. There wasn't much logic or storyline telling but there was some great flips that fans of that will love.
