Dramatic Dream Team 3/20/2022 - DDT Judgment 2022

Dramatic Dream Team 3/20/2022 - DDT Judgment 2022

This was a 6 hour show and the crowd couldn't cheer. I could not make it through all of this, but here's what I did see:

Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Toi Kojima, Yuki Ishida Vs Yusuke Okada, Yuya Koroku & Ilusion

We miss like the opening 30 seconds of this so they couls show us the announcers. TM and Illusion start off with a fast sequence. Ishida hits a big hiptoss on Okada then runs him over with a shoulder. Toi and Yuya trade forearms then Yuya hits a nice armdrag on him. Yuya does a nice fireman's carry takedown then slams Ishida.

Illusion top rope dropkicks Ishida then does a running blockbuster. Ishida forearms Okada then Toi gets in and hits some nice dropkicks on Ishida. Yuya does a nice leg trip on Toi then backdrops him. Okada almost dies on a Toi backdrop then Ishida bowls over Okada with a shoulderblock.

Okada hits a big boot on Ishida then Illusion tope con hilo's his opponents. Okada top rope headbutts Ishida then does a spike fisherman's buster on him to win it.

This was very fast paced and was good stuff. Okada and Yuya are so much above this and it's a farce that Okada is on the pre-show.

Time Admission Tag Battle Royal: Tomohiko Hashimoto & Seiya Morohashi Vs Soma Takao & Shota Vs Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul Vs Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya Vs Gorgeous Matsuno & Gota Ihashi Vs Andreza Giant Panda & Super Sasadango Machine

Comedy as expected here. They had the giant 10 foot tall panda get eliminated and ended up having the hoss team of Hino and Naya win this one. Matsuno eliminated himself out of fear of the Panda and Soma Takao ended up not making this one for some reason. I liked Hino giving the panda chops but Hino and Naya deserve better.

Super Sasadango Machine came back out and did a powerpoint presentation with the history of anal explosion matches in DDT, with a cartoon drawing of Michael Nakazawa taking one. Dino and Hoshitango then grabbed the president of DDT and gave him one. The explosion didn't go right though so they said they will give him another, and they did.

They did a long package on the history of DDT which was nice.

KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Toru Owashi, Antonio Honda, Kazuki Hirata & Yoshihiko (c) Vs Poison Sawada JULIE, Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba (w/ Naomi Susan)

10-man tag titles, you read that right. Same thing as 6-man titles, just 5 people on each team instead of 3. The champs only have 4 people on their team and that explanation is for another day.

The fight starts right after intros. Toba and Mikami do a double team kick/619 combination. Gentaro and Sasaki double elbow Hirata then Hirata takes a bunch of corner moves and gets group clubbed. Hirata then starts to do the Magnum Tokyo dance but Julie interrupts.

Owashi comes in and swings Yoshihiko at them but misses then Yoshihiko throws Sasaki and Gentaro. Owashi then throws Yoshihiko outside at opponents. Honda gets on the mic and everyone listens to him. He pokes all opponents in the eye except Julie, who blocks it then he ends up poking his own partner Owashi in the eye. Hirata, Julie and his manager then all start dancing to music but their opponents break it up with rollups.

Owashi swings Yoshihiko around on Hirata and then Yoshihiko hurricanrana's Hirata. Honda ends up getting rolled up by Mikami and pinned.

This was about as DDT as it gets with comedy, blow-up dolls and other goofy stuff.

Saki Akai vs Maya Yukihi

They trade hard forearms to start then Saki pump kicks her. Saki hangs over the apron and Maya drops a knee on her neck. Maya hits a top rope dropkick for 2 and cravates her. Maya then rolls her into headscissors and armbar that Saki escapes.

Maya kicks her around with her boot and running knees her on the ropes. Maya then tries to plancha her from the top but ends up nailing the seconds instead. Saki then apron kicks her. Saki hits a top rope crossbody and some body kicks then PK's her.

Saki superplexes her from the top. Maya makes a come back and does a top rope swanton for 2. She then hits a high kick and a superkick then knees her in the face. Saki hits a shotgun dropkick to the face for 2 then they start slapping each other. Saki then hits a nice face kick and flips her from the abdominal stretch position for the win.

The selling could have been better here but I did like it. Just two taller pretty girls kicking each other and slapping each other around here.

Isami Kodaka & Yukio Sakaguchi vs. The 37KAMIINA (Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Ueno)

Shunma ducks some Isami kicks early and they trade arm drags. Ueno and Shunma then dropkick both opponents out and hit plancha's. Yuki kicks Ueno in the back for 2.  Ueno plancha's Yuki outside then Shunma flip topes everyone. Shunma gets on the top, holds Mikami's arms then pushes his shoulders down with his feet. He tries for a splash but Isami gets his feet up.

Ueno is laid on the top rope and Yukio kicks him in the gut for 2. Yukio tries for a rolling hammerlock on him. Ueno then comes back with northern lights suplex for 2. shun hits a back springboard leg lariat on Isami then gets suplexed on the apron and Ueno brainbusters Yukio. Yukio comes back with a pump kick and tries for another but is dropkicked in the air. Ueno then hits a shining wizard and a forward roll from the DDT position and wins it.

It went a little longer than it needed to and the selling wasn't too good here. There was no real story either and was just mostly people hitting their moves.

KO-D Tag Team Title Match - DISASTER BOX (HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura) (c) vs. Calamari Drunken Kings (Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi)

CB and Naomi trade forearms to start then Naomi shoulders him down. The Kings tie their opponents together via the legs and do an indian death lock/abdominal stretch combo submission on them but Naomi comes back with a big slam on Masa. Harash then stacks up his opponents on the ropes and drops down double knees on them, then Naomi gets on his back to make it harder. Naomi delay suplexes Masa for 2.

CB hit a top rope dropkick on Naomi then toped both opponents. Back in and Naomi hits a nice STO on CB then tags in Harash for a top rope rider kick. Harash and CB traded shots. Harash then rolled out to the ramp and CB climbed the ropes (not the buckles) to double stomp him on the ramp. Masa got in and hit a bunch of eye rakes and foot stomps on Harash and got a double crucifix bomb with the help of a CB dropkick.

The heels used the ref to hurricanrana Harash which was contrived and blatantly illegal then Masa hit a stiff superkick on Harash. Naomi hits a stiff chokeslam on Masa then gets caught with a slingshot cutter by CB. Masa then bridged Naomi on the 2nd rope and CB hit a top rope dropkick to Harash then senton'd Naomi on the way down.

Harash jumped off of Naomi's back for a double knee on CB. Masa went for a top rope sunset bomb on Naomi, but Naomi blocked it. Masa hung off his back then CB did the sunset bomb to Masa to send him over in an unusual spot. CB hit Naomi with a bunch of slaps then took a hip throw and a big lariat. Brookes then got a grounded abdominal stretch and grabbed the leg of Naomi at the same time to win it.

This was basically a tornado match. People weren't really tagging in and out and everyone was always in. They tried here and Naomi had a good performance, but it was tough as the crowd couldn't cheer.

KO-D Openweight Title Match - Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Tetsuya Endo

This went 46 minutes long. I did not like this at all. They wasted the first 5-10 minutes. They did multiple top rope, floor and apron moves here along with two canadian destroyers and just seemingly nothing could beat either guy with the selling not really being a priority. It was a dangerous looking match and just not my thing. Endo got the win here.
