WWE cancels 205 Live
205 Live is cancelled as of today and WWE NXT: Level Up will be taking its place. I sadly missed the original 205 Live, but I caught a lot it when it was a 30 minute show and then later became an NXT B-Show.
WWE limited the 30 minute long 205 Live like no show has ever been limited. They only got 2 matches. The cruiserweight champ never appeared. They never got to do any gimmick matches, they never got any promos and they never got to do any true angles. They still somehow find a way though to sneak some stories in and because the same 8 guys worked each other so much, there kind of were some natural stories that got created. And this is coming from someone who wasn't fans of most of those guys. The show was truly done when they did the big round of cuts and most of the roster got cut. We did have a few fun weeks with new talent like Grayson Waller and Asher Hale, but then Hale and the remaining guys got cut too.
Since the change to NXT 2.0, it was just an NXT B-Show and it no longer had a 205lb weight limit nor was it Live.
I'm happy the show is going to be an hour long again. I hope we actually get an hour's worth of matches and not just 2-3 matches then recaps. They have a lot of talent who needs in-ring time and if they can't find them time here, I have no idea what they are doing. I'd also like to see this not be on the same time as Rampage.
