WWE NXT UK 5/6/2021
Ilja Dragunov vs Dave Mastiff
They trade shots to start. Ilja climbs on his back and elbows him but Dave drops back and the bell rings. Dave has a busted nose and is bleeding all over.
There will be a gauntlet match next week for a women's title shot. The various women in it all get video packages through out the show. We get a package on Xia Brookside. She wants the title and says she will fight for all of us.
Sid Scala talks to Kenny Williams in the back. Sid explains that whoever loses must leave NXT.
Stevie Turner gets a video package. She says she is all dimensional while other talent is 2 dimensional. She says she is the future of wrestling.
They try to interview Ilja in the back. Ilja says his lack of self control has consequences. He says things have to change.
Gallus is kicking a ball around and Wolfgang looks very silly wearing a hat. Rampage Brown picks up the ball and wants Joe Coffey. Wolfgang says Joe isn't here, but he is and Brown says he'll do.
We get a package on Isla Dawn. She talks about wanting to be women's champion.
Supernova Sessions with Noam Dar and Sha Samuels
Dar says he doesn't need validation from anyone and brings out Nathan Frazer. Dar says that's not Nathan Frazer. Nathan then says he named himself Ben Carter so that his mom and soccer coach wouldn't find out he wrestled. Frazer says he is becoming a more complete performer here. Dar wants to end the interview but Sha has a question. Sha says Frazer isn't a true British wrestler. Sha calls him a fraud, a pretender and a one trick pony. Dar says Frazer wouldn't last with him in a Heritage Cup match then Sha accepts the match. Frazer then says he will beat the master of British wrestling at his own name. This segment made very little sense.
Jinny then got a package. She said she won't let anyone get in the way of her. She says she was born for greatness.
Sid Scala reminds Amir Jordan that tonight's result is final and must leave.
We get a package on Mark Andrews, a girl and Flash Morgan Webster at a skate park. Their group is called the sub culture.
Tyler Bate and A-Kid watch an older match of theirs. Bate says his biggest losses are where he learns the most and Kid says he won't make the same mistakes next time.
Dani Luna gets her video package and says it is time she faces Ray one on one. She says it is inevitable that she beats her.
Saxon Huxley vs Trent Seven
They say Dave Mastiff suffered a broken nose earlier. Saxon pounds on Seven early and hits a running knee. Seven comes back with a big legdrop. Saxon hits a big knee and a Thesz press for 2. Trent's head hangs over the ropes outside and Saxon running boots him.
Saxon slams Trent on the floor and runs the apron to elbow drop him. Back in and Trent hits a DDT. Sam Gradwell then gets on the tron and rips him for losing weight and still not winning the cruiserweight title. Saxon hits a sit out chokeslam bomb for 2. Trent hits a release german and a rainmaker lariat to win.
I really don't get what they are doing with Huxley at all and I've never seen anything in Trent. The match wasn't really anything too special.
Emilia McKenzie does a promo on the gauntlet. She says she is the youngest but is the toughest. She says Ray is running scared and she will be the one to end her reign. She says winning will prove she is the best women's wrestler in the UK.
After break, we are shown Xia Brookside getting beaten up then attended to.
Dark will fight Frazer in a Heritage Cup match next week.
Loser Leaves Town - Kenny Williams vs Amir Jordan
I'd be cool with this going to a draw and both guys leaving. They trade shots early and Kenny takes a hard ride into the buckles. Amir gets tied up in the ropes and Kenny pounds on his shoulder. Kenny hits some crossfaces then they go outside briefly. Kenny hits him with a chair out there and grabs a tool box.
Amir is tied up in the tree of woe and Kenny trash talks him. Amir then gets his shoulder rammed on the outside. Kenny pulls off the ring mats outside and throws Amir into the rails. Amir then backgrounds Kenny over the rails. Amir jumps off the rails and forearms him.
Kenny is banged into a production box then has it rammed into him. Kenny comes back and uses a fire extinguisher on Amir then throws him on a backdrop through a table. They get back in the ring and Kenny punts Amir in the ribs. Kenny slams him chest first for 2.
Amir suplexes Kenny on the exposed floor outside. They really splatted on that one. Amir does a weak swanton on Kenny where only his head hits. Amir bangs Kenny's head off of a chair in the ring. Amir gets crotched on the top rope and gets a bulldog/headlock driver on a chair for the win.
I wasn't real impressed with this one. Both are limited and not very good, and this match reflected it. They had a couple of big spots but it was just real simple stuff and wasn't anything special.
Amir cries after. The ref points his finger at the ramp to make him go.
Overall thoughts: Not a real good episode. The Ilja/Mastiff match got cut off short and it felt like they were filling the rest of their match up with promos for the women's gauntlet. Supernova Sessions is rarely ever good and Huxley/Seven wasn't anything special. But, I don't have to see Amir Jordan anymore so that's a win.
