ICW Pitfighter X: Battle of the Tough Guys - Show 2 4/10/2021
This is starting at Midnight on 4/9.
Battle of the Tough Guys 2nd Round matches:
Nolan Edward vs Brett Ison
There's some boards and chairs in the ring here. Nolan's arm is in a sling selling the damage from earlier. We miss some of the start here and we come back to Ison stomping Nolan's hand. They slap each other and Ison knees him hard in the face. Ison backdrops him through a table or a door then hits him over the head with it. Ison then facewashes him into the cage.
Edward jumps off the cage and headbutts him then running headbutts him for the surprise knockout win.
Dominic Garrini with Kevin Ku vs Jon Davis
Ku and Dom had a nice match earlier and Jon Davis is awesome. This is my 3rd time seeing both guys today. They go to the mat early and Jon lays some hammer elbows. Jon hits a bunch of slaps on Dom and a big knee to the face. Dom comes back with a foot then taps him out with a side choke for the win. It was okay but not as good as it could have been.
Justin Kyle vs Dan Maff
We've got a chair, doors and a table in the ring for this. Kyle pushes him before they even start and they throw shots at each other. Kyle is pushed into the cage and take shots then is pushed hard through the door in front of the cage door. Kyle hits a big a forearm and then decks him with another. Kyle then picks him up and slams him through a door for 2.
Kyle beats him with a door half and Maff throws him into another door.Kyle hits a great high kick and takes a burning hammer through the table but Kyle doesn't sell it. Kyle has a chair thrown at him then the chair is dropkicked into him. Maff then wins it seemingly out of nowhere. They shake hands and hug after. I liked it up until the finish which was a random.
Roben Steel vs Reed Bentley
This one has a cheese grater board, a gusset plate bat, chairs then another keg stand table. Steel jumps Reed before he event gets in the cage. Reed is put into a pole then Steel goes into the pole.
Steel bites Reed's fingers and they chop each other in the 2nd row. Steel slams the cage door on Reed's back. Steel hits a tack bat onto Reed's had and they get stuck in Reed's head. Steel then gets his with the tax bat and Steel comes back by kicking carpet strips into Reed's face.
Steel lariats a cheese grater board into Reed. Reed gets thrown into the cage then Steel is thrown into the cage. They trade forearms then Reed claps two chairs on opposite sides of Steel's head. Reed then hit a cool backdrop through the cheese grater board for 2, with Steel landing on his head. Steel punches a chair into Reed's face.
Steel grabs him by the beard then Reed does the same. They punch each other and Steel takes a Tiger Driver '91 through a barbed wire board for the Reed win. Steel then gets barbed wire stuck in his head after. This went long and wasn't that that good but the finish was brutal.
Brendan Kirk comes in and kicks out Reed. Kirk said he's not leaving until someone fights him. John Wayne Murdoch accepts the challenge. They make it official and Kirk leaves as they clean up the ring.
Semi-finals
Dominic Garrini vs Dan Maff
Slow start here and Dom puts on a choke and Dan gets out. After close to 12 hours of wrestling, the slow start here is honestly putting me to sleep. They chop each other and Dan chops the cage when Dom ducks. Dom kicks Dan's hand into the cage and takes a big headbutt.
Things slow down again and Dom goes through a door in the corner then goes through another door and kicks out at 2. Dan hits a big clothesline/forearm then starts elbowing Dom in the face. Ku throws in the towel and Dom loses.
This was slow and not too interesting. Not the right call at this time.
Semi-finals:
Reed Bentley vs Nolan Edward
Both guys are messed up and we only have chairs here. Nolan works Reed's arm then slaps him hard. They trade more slaps then Nolan does a nice slap/forearm combo. Reed then gets his arm pushed into the cage. Nolan throws some wild chairs around then Reed throws one at him. Nolan's arm is wrapped in a chair and Reed throws it into the cage.
They trade forearms and Nolan boots Reed's head into the cage. Nolan spears the cage, is pop-up knee'd and then takes a stiff running forearm for the Reed win. I appreciated the story they were telling here with Nolan fighting this against common sense and trying to survive.
Reed puts over Nolan on the mic after.
Brandon Kirk vs John Wayne Murdoch
Kirk gets thrown through a table early then has a chair thrown at his head. JWM hits chop and forearm combos then hits him with a fan's WCW title. He then beats him with the WWE 24/7 title.
Kirk gets thrown into the seats and Kirk's wife Kacey hits JWM with a kendo stick. JWM throws Casey into him. Kirk is on a chair and JWM brainbusters her onto him through the chair for the quick win.
Battle of the Tough Guys Final - Reed Bentley vs Dan Maff
We just have a door and some chairs for this. I guess they blew the budget early. We start off with hard chops, punches and forearms. Reed gets headbutted right in the mouth and has his head kicked in near the door. MAff then swings the door hard in Reed's head.
Maff low blows Reed somewhat and Reed comes back with forearm and chop combos. A chair is put near Maff's throat and it is rammed into the cage. Reed bites Dan's hand then Dan comes back with another headbutt. Maff then chairs his back and throws a chair at his head.
Reed forearms Maff then drops a door on him. Reed then sentons the door on Maff's back. Reed is pushed into the cage then Maff is piledriven onto a pile of chairs. Reed then piledrivers him ont the piece of the door and the chair pile for 2. Reed hits Maff wit hthe door piece but he hulks up then starts nailing Reed with it harder. Maff completely breaks the door piece over his head then does the same with the other piece.
Maff burning hammers Red onto the pile of chairs but he doesn't even sell it and charges at him with a forearm. Reed takes an olympic slam onto chairs and Maff wins it. It had some good moments but went a little longer than it needed to and it was weird that they didn't have some of the weapons they had in other matches.
Overall thoughts: Nowhere near as good as Show 1, but that was a given since it is late and since everyone fought already. It's a cool concept and I'd like to see more of it.
