FREEDOMS 11/19/2020 - Heel Don't Think 2020

 FREEDOMS 11/19/2020 - Heel Don't Think 2020

Kengo & Yuya Susumu vs. Daiju Wakamatsu & Tatsuya Hanami

The Susumu's get jumped at the bell. Daiju tries to forearm Kengo but gets nowhere. Kengo does a good job heeling it up here on Daiju and gives him a forearm that takes him down after taking some from Daiju. Daiju finally gets in Hanami and he cleans up. Kengo hits more forearms on him in the corner and then double stomps his chest from the 2nd rope. Kengo also hits a stiff dropkick on Hanami. Daiju tries to do something off the top but slips and then goes back up, hitting a dropkick for 2. Daiju then does a spinning wheel kick for another 2. Yuya and Daiju trade some strikes and Yuya taps out Daiju with the crippler crossface. The faces and the heels get into it after. Kengo was pretty good here but Daiju and Tatusya need a lot of work.

Alejandro & Dragon Libre vs. GENTARO & Tatsuhito Takaiwa

Gentaro and Ale do some basic technical stuff early. Ale hits a cattle mutilation on Gentaro. Takaiwa gets in and does some matwork with Libre. Ale gets stretched with a surfboard/bow and arrow. Ale tries to chop Takaiwa and gets nowhere with it before taking a clothesline. Ale gets worked on more and does a springboard dropkick into a hot tag to Libre. Libre takes a gutwrench suplex from the top and then gets Saito Suplex'd, but the picture in pictue camera blocks the landing.  Libre does a reverse figure four on Takaiwa and the faces double suplex Takaiwa. Libre tries another leglock but Takaiwa gets out of it and they botch some kind of tilt-a-whirl. Libre gets a brainbuster from Takaiwa and a death valley driver for the Takaiwa and Gentaro win. It just went a little long and was slow. I also just couldn't take Gentaro seriously here.

We will not be reviewing the intergender match.

Shin-Kiba Brutal Ocean Death Match - Kenji Fukimoto vs Toshiyuki Sakuda

Kenji brings a fishing rod to the ring and it looks like Sakuda brought a  fishing spear. They go to the outside where its too dark to see and Kenji gets the spear in his head. Sakuda staples Kenji's shirt on to him and staples his head. Kenji is put on a chair backwards and Sakuda chairs the chair into his head. Kenji then gets the spear in his head again. Kenji comes back and puts a fishing hook in Sakuda's mouth and reels him in. Kenji then pushes the spear into him again with a chair shot. Kenji gets stapled and takes a DDT. Sakuda springboard swanton's him. Sakuda grabs the syringe but misses it and Kenji puts it in his mouth.

Kenji tries to piledriver him with the syringe in his mouth, but Sakuda gets out and dropkicks him while it's in his mouth. Sakuda then gives him his own piercing too as I evaluate my life and why I am watching this. Eahc of them tugs on each other's new piercing and Kenji also gets one through each ear to match the one in his mouth! Kenji takes a 619 with the syringes in him and a crucifix bomb for the Sakuda win.

There was no actual wrestling here and this was just a freakshow with the sharp pieces of metal.

Fluorescent Light Tubes Death Match - Jun Kasai & Masashi Takeda vs. Takashi Sasaki & Toru Sugiura

They get started right at the bell here. Takeda and Sugiura trade shots and Sugi is first into the light tubes. Takeda puts one in Sugi's mouth and pushes him forward, making it break. Takeda shoves scissors in Sugi's head, rips them out and gets a few good punches in. Takeda then breaks two tubes on Toru's stomach with a boot.  Takeda and Toru trade some nice forearms. Toru takes more scissors to the head and Takeda bridges them over Toru's mouth. Kasai grabs the big stuck of tubes and Toru punches them into him. toru tags in Sasaki and  he kicks a stack of tubes into Kasai's gut. Kasai gets superplexed and doesn't sell it and hits a high angle pedigree on Sasaki. Takeda punches some tubes into Sasaki's back and slams a chair on a chair on Sasaki. Sasaki release german's Takeda. Toru gets back in and punches some tubes into Takeda's face then goes into the other corner for something and he runs in just to eat a face full of tubes. They trade more shots and Takeda dropkicks a couple of tubes into him. Takeda takes a Sasaki/Toru double team and kicks out of a powerbomb for 2. Takeda then takes a couple of tubes with a knee from Sasaki. Kasai hits his splash from the top and Takeda gets a 2 with a bundle of tubes and a knee. Takeda then wins it with a high reverse DDT on Sasaki. Afterwards, Suigura and Takeda fight. This was alright at times but nothing too special and once Sugiura got mostly out of the match, any possible story went with it.

Overall thoughts: Not good when you enjoy the opening match more than anything else. There was just too much reliance on the weapons here and not the wrestling.
