New Japan Pro Wrestling 9/28/2019 - NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2019 in New York - Kazuchika Okada and Kota Ibushi vs EVIL and SANADA
|
The finish |
They fake each other out early with Kota missing his combo and moonsaulting onto his feet. Okada and Sanada work the crowd, who is very hot. A streamer is thrown in then taken back out. Okada runs the ropes and is tripped by Evil, who then clears out Ibushi too. Okada gets put in the paradise lock and then is dropkicked. Okada gets back into it and flapjacks him, then tags in Ibushi. Ibushi kicks him down then standing moonsaults him for 2, then Evil comes in and takes over. Evil and Ibushi trade blows, doing a lengthy exchange. Evil tries to criss cross him off the ropes but gets pele kicked. Evil and Sanada trade some shots, then Sanada does a 2nd rope backflip into a grounded dragon sleeper that Ibushi breaks up. Okada hits his dropkick and gets backdropped off a rainmaker attempt. Evil gets caught in a neckbreaker on the knee of Okada and Okada hot tags Ibushi. Ibushi hits a great springboard dropkick and then 2nd turnbuckle moonsaults Evil. Evil hits darkness falls for 2 on Ibushi then Sanada spinning neckbreakers Sanada, before being release german'd hard. Evil and Ibushi trade delayed forearms and Ibushi takes a rolling elbow. Ibushi then gets flipped with an Evil larait. Evil hits a nasty "this is evil" sto legsweep and wins it. This was fun. This wasn't an epic but they had a great time working the crowd and overall doing a more Americanized match. They didn't bust out the big stuff, but it was a perfectly fine house show main event.
