All Japan Pro Wrestling 4/9/2019 - Champion Carnival 2019 Day 4
I don't have Day 3 unfortunately.
Dylan James vs Gianni Valletta
James got rushed just coming in and they immediately went outside. They had some not good brawling the announcers yelled for people to move. DJ had GV against the post twice and missed both times with a chop and a lariat. Gianni tied up DJ with his chain and went to nail him with it but DJ hit the lariat. GV came off the top with a double axe handle and DJ caught him with a chokeslam to win. Not a good match at all and the crowd was not into it.
Jake Lee vs Joel Redman
Longer match than needed. Lee won with a backdrop here. The majority of this match had Redman working the submissions and British style. He kept alternating from British Gentleman to taking cheap shortcuts which was fine. Lee really didn't bring much at all to the match here. Redman can really go and hopefully has earned himself another tour with AJPW.
Naoya Nomura vs Sam Adonis
This wasn't anything good. The crowd was dead and it went way too long. It really took about 10 minutes for the match to really start. Nomura won with his sitting abdominal stretch.
Kento Miyahara vs Zeus
Zeus won with the jackhammer. Finally, something with a little energy here. The crowd loved Kento's antics and everything Zeus hit looked real good as usual. I'm not real sure I got the spot where Zeus was laying down on the outside and then popped right back up and ready to go though. Judging from Kento's character, I think I would have liked to have seen him use a few more cheap tactics against Zeus, with Zeus finally having enough and destroying him for it. All of Zeus' strikes and lariats looked real good and made a nice impact sound wise.
Overall thoughts: Skip this. A bunch of long matches with a super dead crowd. Zeus and Redman were the highlights here.
