UWFI 4/3/1994 - Vader vs Salman Hashimikov
I didn't feel like doing gifs for this one and to be honest, there wasn't much to take for this.
These two had fought earlier when Vader still hadn't figured everything quite out and I had been looking for this match for a while because I thought it would be really good. Unfortunately, this stunk.
I really liked the idea of this one going into it. You have Vader who is a beast amongst beasts and then you have Salman, who appeared to be big but in real life was 5'10 and 240lbs. Still, he was kind of buyable as a monster.
This match did not go with that idea however and in fact they treated poor Salman as a jobber here. He got one waterwheel drop in before Vader pushed him in the corner, started pounding on him, then slammed him and put him in a weird leg bow and arrow for the win. Nakano and Yamazaki got more in and looked better against Vader than poor Salman, who had legit credit and was one of the bigger guys for the UWFi did.
This was a really disappointing match that could have been so much more. I would have loved to have seen Vader taking suplexes here and seen Salman doing various deadlifts, while seeing Vader trying to pound his way out of it. It only went about 5 minutes and for the crap that this was, it felt too long.
