King Harley Hogg (with Saul Creatchman & Wild Hogg) vs "El Bracero" Jose Martinez
King Harley Hogg |
Wild Hogg gets on the apron while Creatchman bothers the ref |
The finish |
King Harley Hogg got the win via countout when Wild Hogg slammed and stomped Martinez outside for the countout. Good match for what it was. Martinez was a really good fiery face here, having some great bursts before the finish. Only a couple of minutes long but it was way better than expected.
They hyped a tag match with Bobby Colt and Bobo Brazil vs The Wild Hoggs. Bobo was 60 at the time of this lol
Bobby Colt came out for an interview and before he got anywhere, Saul Creatchman and a Hogg came out. They immediately went to black as you can see in the gif below.
LOL "We ain't got no time to show you an angle"
I kind of liked the dressing room backdrop here though. I can totally buy the situation playing out back there and I'd like to see this used today.
Abdullah Hakeem vs Ronnie Zee
"Let's hope he's not from a country that practices cannibalism. I wouldn't want him to eat Ronnie Zee right here on the program." - George Cannon |
Abdullah Hakeem |
Ronnie Zee |
"And also, he LOVES soccer." - David McClane talking about the refs personal interests for some reason |
"You don't get better wrestling people of your caliber. You have to wrestle people better than you." - Cannon on Zee |
"Ronnie might take a beating today, but this is going to pay off for him in the future because he will know what to expect." - Cannon |
Abdullah Hakeem got the win with a thumb to the chest. This had a 10 minute time limit and Abdullah ended it at like 9:40. Totally boring squash with Abdullah doing nothing besides stomps and chokes.
They talked about the squash and Cannon really put over the ref Connie Marker which didn't make much sense.
The Hooded Hangman (with Saul Creatchman) vs Calypso Jim
"I have to call him Saul Creep-man." - Cannon |
The Hooded Hangman won in no time with a backbreaker. Jim got a lot of punches in and both threw awful strikes.
McClane ran down some cards for over a minute, boring Jim and said that Jim had broken up the Hoggs/Colt brawl that they cut away from. Before he got anything in, Creatchman came out.
"Let me tell yall somethin right now. You just seen a sample of what the Hoggs gonna do." |
"Colt, we got you. We got this Jamaican dog, and we gonna get anybody that gets in our way." |
I'm becoming a big fan of the Hoggs. They promised to take our anyone who came in their way and they got rushed before they could finish.
"The King" Gary Lawler vs Mad Maxx (with Super Maxx)
Yep, a Jerry Lawler knockoff. I've heard about him but never seen him. He's doing a full Lawler knockoff here.
"If Lawler's in the best shape of his life and Mad Maxx is giving him this type of beating - what would it be like if Lawler wasn't in shape?" - Cannon |
"He looks to me a little overweight and a little slouched." - McClane on Gary Lawler |
Mad Maxx beat Gary Lawler after Super Maxx used a chair to Lawler's gut. This was nothing but punches and kicks and Lawler is no Lawler here. Looks like him though and definitely copied the mannerisms, but he was treated as a joke by the announcers and did the J-O-B here. Mad Maxx isn't very good but had a decent look. Longer squash here as it seems to be the norm.
King Harley Hogg said he would win the $20,000 battle royale and buy a Cadillac and a vacation.
"There's been a conspiracy against the Hoggs in this territory." - Wild Hogg |
The Great Wojo, Wild Hogg, & Dr Jerry Graham Jr vs Chris Carter, Yukon Mooser Cholak, & Dick the Bruiser
Moose was 55 here and Dick was 56. I've always wanted to see the Great Wojo.
That's not how I imagined the Great Wojo would look |
Wojo got the win on Carter after a botched double clothesline. Not good at all here. Moose couldn't move and had trouble getting out of the ring, so he mostly stayed in it. This was all bad punches at a slow pace for 7 minutes and Graham did not look good when he was in there.
Graham called his opponents inferior competition to close the show.
Overall thoughts: So many bad punches on this show and it was pretty clear why the WWA wasn't going to make it. Most of the show was boring 10 minute squashes and there wasn't much to get excited about. The crowd was into it, but I have no idea why. The Hoggs basically carried this show being in almost every segment.
