Sumo Nagoya Basho 2013 Day 7

Sumo Nagoya Basho 2013 Day 7

Ms24e   Kyokutaisei (3-0) vs  Ms18w   Asatenmai (3-0)
Asa went low and took this one, driving his head into Kyoku.

J13e    Chiyoarashi (2-4)  vs J11w    Takanoyama (1-5)

Chiyo hugged Tak, Tak went for a sweep but Chiyo didn't have a problem with it and send him out.

J9w     Osunaarashi (4-2)  vs J6w     Homasho (5-1)

This was close but Homasho was correctly awarded the win. Homasho had a great grip that drove Osuna back. Osuna went for a twist but stepped out. A shame too as he could have snuck this out.
J10e    Oniarashi (2-4)   vs J13w    Endo (5-1)

Oni leaned out and Endo pushed him off for an easy win. Endo is only 2 away from his kachikoshi.

 J8e     Asasekiryu (4-2)   vs J3w     Tochinowaka (4-2)

Asa struggled from the start here and was just overpowered by Tochinowaka, who is looking really good this basho.
M16w    Shotenro (4-2)   vs   M13w    Jokoryu (3-3)
Jo was just off here and wasn't on balance, leading to him losing easily. He tried to pull Sho out but he ran out of room.
S1e     Myogiryu (2-4)  vs   O1w     Kotoshogiku (5-1)
Cheap henka win for Mygoriyu here. I feel bad for Koto as this is the second day in a row it has happened.

O1e     Kisenosato (4-2)    vs   S1w     Goeido (1-5)
Goeido got out early here and pushed Kisen back with force and Kisen couldn't recover. Goeido got the big upset win here.

M3w     Aminishiki (2-4)    vs    O2w     Kotooshu (5-1)
Koto sidestepped Ami who was too low and grabbed the back of the belt to put him down. A well deserved loss after Ami's stupid Henka on Kotoshogiku yesterday. I wouldn't be shocked if this was payback.

Kakuryu vs Takekaze
Kakuryu pulled from the neck and shoulder and got an easy win here.

Harumafuji vs Kyokutenho
Haruma pushed by the throat, got Kyoku in trouble then got behind him. Kyoku gave up from there.
Hakuho vs Chiyotairyu
Hakuho won easy here with a brutal tachi-ai that knocked Chiyo mostly down.

Rankings:

 Juryo:
Hakuho has this wrapped up but Harumafuji is hanging in. The henka's are getting way out of hand though. In Juryo, Endo is doing well and he's currently in first place, which is extremely impressive.
