Sumo Natsu Basho 2013 Day 6

Sumo Natsu Basho 2013 Day 6

Ms5e    Chiyomaru (2-0) vs Ms7e    Osunaarashi (2-0)
Osunaarashi got partially overpowered in the beginning but was much much quicker than the plodding Chiyomaru and was able to thrust him out. They almost took out the ref here.

J8e     Tochinowaka (2-3) vs   J12w    Chiyoarashi (3-2)
Tochinowaka sidestepped Chiyo early and then took a bunch of shots and was reeling. He made a great atheletic move to get his foot off the edge and turned it around to win.

J6e     Tokushoryu (5-0) vs J10w    Takanoyama (4-1)
Takanoyama got extremely overpowered here and was pushed out with ease.

M5e     Shohozan (3-2) vs M7w     Jokoryu (0-5)
Jokoryu stepped too far back and tried to thrust while far back. This got him off balance and gave Shohozan a chance to swat away a thrust and win.

M4e     Aoiyama (5-0)  vs  M9w     Ikioi (4-1)
Aoiyama tried to lean on Ikioi and Iki just brushed him off for an easy win.

K1e     Tochiozan (1-4)  vs  S1w     Baruto (3-2)
Baruto caught Tochi early and tried to swing him for a throw but stepped out. Bad loss for Baruto as he should have gotten this.

O1e     Kisenosato (5-0) vs  M2w     Tochinoshin (0-5)
Kisenosato got a good angle on Tochi and only needed one or two pushes to win.

M1w     Aminishiki (0-5) vs O2w     Kotooshu (4-1)
They had to redo the first match after a decision couldn't be reached. This is their second try.
Kotooshu bull-rushed Ami early and got caught. Ami used this against him and pushed him out, as they both splattered onto an unlucky wrestler in the first row.

O2e     Kotoshogiku (4-1) vs  M1e     Myogiryu (2-3)
Koto held on tight and tried to work side to side but the hold was too tight and got Myogiryu a win. Myogiryu is 3-3 and for an M1 that is really quite good.

S1e     Goeido (4-1)  vs O1w     Kakuryu (5-0)
Kakuryu was in trouble early but started thrusting and slapping and put Goeido down.

Y1e     Hakuho (5-0)  vs K1w     Okinoumi (0-5)
Okinoumi went for a double grip on the front of Hakuho's belt. While he tried that, Hakuho swatted him down for an easy win.

M3w     Aran (3-2)   vs Y1w     Harumafuji (3-2)
Aran went for a Henka which was a smart move since Harumafuji dove at him hard. It didn't work though and Haruma got hold of him and pushed him out.
