This is a battle royale inside of a cage. You can eliminate your opponents by throwing them through the door or over the top of the cage.
There are too many people in this for caps of all but the participants are:
Lex Luger, Tully Blanchard, Dusty Rhodes, Road Warrior Animal, Ivan Koloff, Warlord, Barbarian and Arn Anderson.
Animals tries to push Tully Blanchard over the cage |
Ivan Koloff and Dusty Rhodes fight at the top of the cage |
Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Lex Luger all get eliminated |
The Barbarian is elminated |
Dusty Rhodes got the win here after eliminating The Barbarian to become the three time Bunkhouse Stampede champion. Interesting concept, bad execution. The match went something like 25 minutes long and it was way too long. They were limited by the ring space and the cage, plus the face vs heel alliances. Add those factors together and it wasn't good. The other big problem was the eliminations. It looked silly for guys to even go near the top of the cage, because it would be risky if you are trying to win this, but yet the heels did. And instead of just jumping down to the ring when they got in trouble, they climbed further up and made it more unbelievable. This was a stinker unfortunately and not worth seeing.
There's a couple of ways this might have worked better
- Shorten the match to 10 or 15 minutes
- Either eliminate the over the top of the cage eliminations or use them alot less.
- Possibly get rid of the ropes or make the door bigger so that way eliminations could occur easier.
- Possibly lift the cage up some so that there is space between the apron and the cage where people could get pushed out of. This would still make the cage useable and would make eliminations better.
This gimmick really hasn't been used since minus parts of it being used in the CZW Cage of Death and I don't imagine it will be used again. With a few tweeks, I think it could be interesting.
