New Japan Pro Wrestling 8/3/2019 - G1 Climax 2019 Day 13 - Kazuchika Okada vs SANADA

New Japan Pro Wrestling 8/3/2019 - G1 Climax 2019 Day 13 - Kazuchika Okada vs SANADA

It starts off with the usual counters and simple stuff. There's really no big highlights early until Okada dropkicks Sanada to the floor. Sanada then went to the rails and Okada did a soft boot to put him over them, then hangs him off the rail and DDT's him. Sanada comes back in and takes a baseball slide, then Okada poses on him. Sanada leapfrogs him front and back and then hits a nice dropkick of his own. Sanada paradise locks Okada. Okada tries to dropkick the knees, Sanada moves and then moonsaults. Okada then moves and gets dropkicked in the back. Sana then backdrops him. Sanada springboards for something, gets caught and then gets neckbreaker'd.

Sanada goves overtop Okada to put on the dragon sleeper, then Okada walks up the ropes and tombstones him. Okada goes for the rainmaker, but Sanada turns itinto a draping twisting neckbreaker from the ropes. They trade forearms on their knees. Okada fires up and dares him to hit him in the neck and they trade shots. Sanada takes dropkicks to the front and back of the head. Sanada tries to go overhead again for a dragon sleeper and eventually powers over. Sanada hits a great tiger suplex and a TKO. Okada hits a short rainmaker. Okada tries a rainmaker, but Sanada counters with a lariat, then whips him around in a dragon sleeper. Okada got out but then got put back in, twice.

Okada was near out in the dragon sleeper, then Sanada gave it up and tried for a moonsault. Okada got his knees up though and stopped it. With a minute to go, Okada hits a big dropkick, but Okada pops him up and hits a stunner. Sanada then moonsaulted onto his back and front and WON! Sanada gets his big win on Okada finally at 29:48!

This was a good match as usual with these guys. It's not always super perfect or flashy, but they get you into it and make you care about who is going to win.  Sanada finally getting the big win was a real cool moment and made this match more special than a loss or a draw would have been. My critiques of the match are that Sanada doesn't win with the dragon sleeper and it makes it look weak and I still feel Sanada needs some kind of big finisher.
