WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/15/2013 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/15/2013 Results and Review

Last week's show is here:

Brad Maddox, Michael Cole and Josh Matthews are your announcers for this evening.

Sheamus and Randy Orton vs The Rhodes Scholars
Cole said that Orton and Sheamus are being called the "#CelticVipers".

The Scholars weren't happy about Monday. They said they weren't prepared and it was unfair. They also said that they would have easily beat the New Age Outlaws if it weren't for the interference from Brock. Finally, they said that the whole debacle interrupted their plans with The Bella Twins.
Randy Orton got the win with the RKO. The match result was never in doubt and it was just a matter of time until the finish. This was mostly what you would expect and nothing too interesting.
The Shield challenged Orton, Sheamus and a partner for Wrestlemania and they accepted.
"You guys need a tag team partner that is the ultimate destroyer." - Show
"I think we couldn't agree with you more." - Orton
"I'm telling you, you guys won't regret this decision. It's a smart move" - Show
"You're dead right, Show. And that's why the two of us have picked him." - Sheamus

Well, the segment did make Show look like a goof and it did make Sheamus/Orton look like jerks. I thought Ryback always should have been the choice for the 6-man as The Shield started by messing with him and he's been their biggest rival. However, the question is now, what do you do with Big Show? Please, please, please don't suggest Big Show vs Mark Henry. That is no buys.

Layla and Kaitlyn vs Tamina Snuka and Aksana
Layla got the win with the LOL. They tried to play it off like Layla did a forced tag, but Kaitlyn was flailing her arms around in the corner and to me it looked like a tag. As you may know, this is step two in the WWE heel turn process. Layla will do this once more, Kaitlyn and Layla will argue about it and Layla will turn heel. I prefer Layla as a face though and I think she is miles above Kaitlyn. As for the match, it wasn't anything special. It was quick and Tamina was rather stiff with Layla.
"You influenced us and we grew up watching you." - Cameron
Yep, Cameron grew up watching the Bella Twins at a child's age of 20. I guess that means Cameron was getting potty training at the age of 10. Then again, her favorite match ever is Melina vs Alicia Fox, so she is obviously a student of the game. I'd also like to point out at this time that The Bella Twins got implants while they were away from WWE. If you don't believe me, this is what they started with before WWE:

"Did you hear that Brie? We influenced two hoochie-mama's to come to WWE to shake their butts for the dancing dinosaur and his fat friend who thinks he is Japanese. Isn't that great?" - Nikki Bella
PWNED! AWESOME. That may be the best diss I've ever heard on WWE TV.
"Who you callin' hoochie-mama's?" - Naomi

Kane vs Dolph Ziggler

Dolph won with the ZigZag. He mostly got beat down until the finish. It's a Kane match so it wasn't very interesting. The highlight of it was DB going after Langston on the outside and paying for it. Kane then booted Langston and came in to get pinned.

Dolph talked trash to Kane after the match and then Kane got some payback. Big E then hit the Big Ending on Kane.

Ricardo Rodriguez and Alberto Del Rio did another impersonation of Zeb Coulter and Jack Swagger.
They mocked immigrants from Canada this time and did lots of really stupid and stereotypical Canadian jokes. They said they were against Canadians bringing in maple syrup and how it was destroying America. I really love how Alberto and Ricardo are fighting racism and stereotypes with racism and stereotypes.
Chris Jericho and R-Truth were pretending that the skit was funny when Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter stepped in.
Swagger said he was fighting for America and had America on his back. He said Jericho was no better than Del Rio.

"You snuck across our border, from CANADA." - Jack Swagger
Jericho told him that he should be worrying about Wrestlemania instead of politics. I'd agree.
Khali and Natalya mocked Fandango with some dancing.
Fandango tried to teach Khali to say his name and Khali obviously failed, but it was funny.

Fandango then said he wouldn't wrestle because of his name being said wrong. Booker T said that Fandango would wrestle or will face consequences last week, but that didn't happen here.
Orton and Sheamus said that they have the advantage against The Shield when The Shield attacked.
They thew Orton into the automatic door a few times and then threw Sheamus through a snack table.
"We got this. Just don't lose your cool, ok?" - Booker T
Booker T also told Teddy Long to basically shut up when he was trying to help.

Mark Henry vs Ryback
The match barely started when The Shield ran down.
Ryback cleared them out then stared down Henry.
The Shield came back in and took down Ryback.
Henry then hit the WSS three times on Ryback.
"This is what you got in store for you.You will not run through me" - Mark
"Welcome to the HALL of PAIN." - Mark

Jack Swagger vs Chris Jericho
Jack Swagger won with a gutwrench powerbomb. The match was decent and I was surprised to see Swag pick up the win. It wasn't that great though and did have some Zeb interference.

Overall thoughts: The Bella Twins were the highlight of the show as their segment was awesome. The matches weren't that great on this show and there were alot of angles and talking. The show is skippable.
